I'd hope a 2009 Saturn is appreciably better than a 1986 Cavalier. If it weren't, that would be sad. Yes, GM probably shouldn't have started Saturn, they should have put that money towards developing better small and midsize cars for the existing brands. Negotiating a new UAW deal for the whole company probably wouldn't have hurt either. That said, Saturn did bring in customers that weren't hip to what GM was slingin' and could've kept those customers if they hadn't let their cars wither and die.

Cant go wrong with the 6, but give the Fusion a shot. My 4cyl was really perky, even if the transmission (manual) was an absolute bitch. If you're looking at $30k and under, definitely check out the Fusion Sport, the Autoblog tester was $29k and change, and it looks yummy.

The L-cars were ok, but GM needed better than ok to keep the Accord and Camry from taking off. The Corsica was made too long, if the '97 Malibu had come out a few years sooner, GM might have been able to keep some sales in the segment.

I called in a favor and the car was towed up to the house this afternoon. I just went out and did some of the simple things to see if any of them helped. After I sprayed the carb cleaner, I went ahead and popped the fuel filter off. And I'm thinking that was a large part of my problem, because that filter was an awful, awkward shade of brownish-black like nothing I've ever seen before. 'Twas nasty. So I put the new one in, threw the air filter back on and hit the road. It rund like.....well, it runs like crap, but less like crap than it had. It'll make it up to the secret lair to be dismantled, which is all I really need. Speaking of cats, the one in the LeSabre is likely near death, I'm thinking about cutting it off and doing without until its time to be inspected.

I saw a guy who looked exactly like Ludacris. I assume it wasn't Luda since he was driving a rusty, late-80's Accord through Springfield during rush hour.

The Corsica was underwhelming, its part of the reason Toyota was able to shoot past GM in the midsize segment.

Entirely possible, but that doesn't mean it was a good combination of colors. Black with pink stripes probably would have looked a million times better.

Stupid buy-here, pay-here places always seem to have tough to find cars that I want. But there is no way I'm paying $80/week for the next 2 years on something work $3500. And I can never seem to get them to sell outright, because they dont make any money that way.

I've had two GMs leave me stranded. Both were Saturns, one was a major electrical bug at 25k, the other was the fuel pump at 60k. Only time any other make has left me stranded was after a wreck.
