As you know I travel a great deal, so imagine my bewilderment, as I look at this map!

Typical. This is why the rest of the world thinks we're a bunch of retards

who have trouble discerning France and Russia on a four-color map. <_<

Here is the map that they used in the following story. Notice anything odd?

That's right boys and girls, the map says IRAQ, but the country they are showing is IRAN! :rotflmao:

Ah now you're just splittin' hairs. :AH-HA_wink:

Want to have some fun? Go to a big American city and randomly ask someone to name one European country. Some of the answers will surprise you, maybe even horrify you. :P

There are probably people that think Europe is a country.

Semi-related - there's a sad number of new Saturn Astra owners that are getting all snobby about how their car is built in Germany. When people point out that the plant is in Belgium, which is not Germany, they try to play it off as the same thing. I'm sure people from either country would really appreciate being told they're the same.

I met someone who thought Canada was part of Australia. But I think that's a one-off.

Actually, yes. Students in 8th grade. They also said Canada was a state. :AH-HA_wink:

My first girlfriend in HS asked me why Hawaii is so warm and Alaska so cold when they are both just floating under California so close to each other.

She was definitely a keeper.
