Someone talented should take that Malibu chop and do a "Fleet'em All" version of Metallica's "Kill'em All" cover just for fun :smilewide:

As long as it is rebadge with lots of new panels etc I honestly have no problem.

Unfortunately as it was earlier said it's gonna be a Cobalt/G5 rebadge.

God I really hope not. I doubt GM would be that stupid. Do we know this to be fact? Or is this speculation. I do not believe GM is ready to throw the rag in at Pontiac. I would be it would be a platform mate with some things similar but a different car. If GM does a cheap rebadge that would be a HUGE mistake. It is okay on a lower volume vehicle like the Torrent not on a bread and butter sedan that sells over 100k a year. I know GM is stupid but not that stupid.

I don't think the G6 sales would drop if the next generation were a Malibu with a Pontiac grill. The 1986 to 1991 Grand Am had the same body as its platform mates (Calais, Skylark) with a Pontiac grill and sold very well. I don't think the G5 would sell any better if it were radically different from the Cobalt. I don't care for the current G6, and a Malibu rebadge would look better to my eyes.

For fleets, they could take the previous gen Malibu and badge it as a 'GM Generica'.

I'd have to agree with some of that...

Much of it depends on the look though....and people have changed quite a bir since the 80s too....
