I would dump fiat, that's the obvious choice.3 points

@smk4565 Just for fun from the latest Car and Driver Lightning lap: 2018 Audi RS5 ($91k, 444hp) - 3:03.9 2017 Audi RS3 ($61.7k, 400hp) - 3:05.6 2018 Honda Civic Type R ( $35.6k, 306hp) - 3:03.9 Boy, did these German cars showed Asians how to do things ... Horsepower doesn't equal being fast either.2 points

I didn't have any of those in my tester. But I can say it doesn't feel as solid as previous Camrys. Closing the door, it sounded somewhat hollow.2 points

Oil change cost per change go up, but the time between oil changes has been increasing. I get 7,500 miles between oil changes in the Honda and up to 10,000 miles in the Buick. My old 2004 CTS would do 12,000 miles before it was down to 10% oil life, but that got a lot of highway miles. Same goes for other maintenance items as well. Many manufacturers are moving to ceramic brakes. I just did my first brake job on the Buick.... at 80,000 miles. It cost $600~ for 4 rotors and pads... but once in 80k miles, I can't be mad about it. I never changed the brakes in the 48k miles I had the CTS and when I had them checked before turning it in, they said they had a lot of life left. I remember my old Cutlass barely making 25k miles between brake pads. My ex's Grand Am was similar. I don't mind more expensive maintenance as long as it is significantly less frequent.2 points

The A-Class is a FWD platform and a little bird told me they suck. The A-Class, while much improved over the previous generation, is not that much improved to be competing in the G70, Q50/60, 3/4-series playground. The C-Class is only good when you option it up into the $50s... otherwise you're getting plastic seats (still a possibility at $50+k) and none of the interesting finishes.2 points

I want to HAHA, Upvote, and Thanks for this one.... On that lightning lap, the pedestrian Accord 2.0T nothing special about it wasn't even that far behind the RS31 point

No one, particularly not the Chinese, care about 500hp in terms of sales. They make such a tiny segment of the sales chart. Someone leasing a 201hp CLA isn't doing it just because there is some 500hp E-class being built for almost no one to buy. Also... Mercedes doesn't have 25 models total... they have 14 at best, not counting their vans. They don't get to quadruple count cars just because it comes in a couple of different door counts. Not counting vans, the only way you get to 25 is by counting cars like the C-Class and E-Class 4 times. C-Class, C-Class Hybrid, C-Class Coupe, C-Class Cabrio. E-Class Sedan, E-Class Wagon, E-Class Coupe, E-Class Cabrio Doing that, I count a total of 27 vehicles at MB USA (again, not counting the vans), but that is cheating. Without double/triple/quadruple counting, it's 14 models total. MB isn't alone in this kind of cheating... BMW likes to count every variant as a "model". No, the 320i, 335i, 340i, M3, and 435i and grand turisimo and wagon and convertible and blah blah blah are not umpteen different models.... It's the 3 series. Done.1 point

Is this even necessary... like the only thing that makes it relevant to today seems to be the EV part... but you can do that in so many other ways. It's a shame Chrysler is going to have no sedans left... hard to think of Chrysler as a "carless" company... my earliest memories of relatives vehicles were Plymouth, Chrysler, Dodge. Hell, I was taken home from the hospital in a Plymouth and burned my legs as a toddler on black vinyl seats in the summer.1 point

I really like this car and 36k sounds fairly reasonable as well. Not the same size car to even rebadge.1 point

Genesis is designed by former Audi designer Peter Schreyer.1 point

It is on the same platform but it is shorter and probably slightly lighter. I believe they share engines as well. Plus I think it looks better than Stinger and have better interior.1 point

Why isn't MB held to this same standard for the CLA/GLA AMG? Or Audi for the RS3?1 point

I love it. If I was looking for another sport sedan to replace mine I think this would be one of my top choices. To me it looks much better inside and out than the Kia Stinger as well. You must be joking ..1 point

If Cadillac had put these crossovers on a rear drive chassis then you could have the 550 hp V8 in the XT5 and even XT4. Now I think demand for a V8 XT4 would be tiny, so I would understand making that a front drive crossover for the sheeple that buy $40k small crossovers. XT5 and up should be rear drive all the way so they can put a V8 in there.1 point

This is a fantastic package at that price and Genesis knows it. Cadillac better be paying attention.1 point

The compact premium sports sedan is really crowded..Genesis is joining a market that has Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Infiniti, Jaguar, Lexus, Mercedes...1 point

Huh???? The CLA is just a FWD transverse engine generic. This has a RWD platform. And M-B has platform sharing w/ Nissan/Infiniti, not Hyundai/Genesis. Maybe you need new glasses, looks nothing like the CLA.1 point

I could think of a lot of families who might like an EV minivan. Now if Chrysler extended that platform to include CUVs, they could pull out of that sad spiral they have been in for a while now. As for the end of the 300, sad but inevitable I guess. The platform is really old and they have not improved the car much in the last five years at least.1 point

Probably a better value than the Bimmer, and reliability as well. Bimmers are a nightmare when it comes to the cost of maintenance and repair. They're over engineered, and it seems everyone has one. With the Genesis at least you get to be unique, and this car looks better in my opinion1 point
