  1. CPO certainly worked for my last car.

  3. Because it's the W-Body Impala of Germany. Worse than that- it's older than dirt. Just imagine tho if the recent so-called 'redesign" of the g-wagon HAD been the ener-g concept, as shown; as the flagship it would have a pretty substantial trickle-down effect instead of being a left field Frankenstein of 1970s parts that you can't tell if it's a 1980 or a 2020.

  4. I mean, I don't hate it, but I still have no desire to have a Mustang powered by anything other than a V8.

  6. ^ FWD death snout. - - - - - I was in Baltimore '87-89, this was there the first year, then got torn down. I remember it had a 'walk-up' window where you could order/get your food as opposed to going inside. Why, I'm not sure.

  8. I’ve said this for years but I’ll say it again. More and more folks are buying used and CPO for more than obvious reasons. Sales trends over the last few years reflect this. Thank you high priced new cars.

  10. Is it wrong to say I’d be all over that?? Older tech or not, for a solid price I’d take one.....

  11. That is just future guessing. Says right above that they are using the 224HP four banger and offering a bigger option down the road is a cop out (seeing as how that 300HP offering is for the much overused “AMG” model that will cost at least $20K more than the XT4) and proves my point about offering a weak motor on a seven passenger SUV. You also go the apples to oranges route yet again since the NX200 and XT4 don’t offer seven passenger seating (and with good reason). On top of that, Benz is supposed to offer more, according to your past comments. Here, they offer less and you offer up excuses you do not grant to Cadillac or anyone else not wearing a German label.

  12. https://www.carscoops.com/2019/03/chinas-2020-buick-encore-ii-to-sit-alongside-new-chevrolet-tracker/ if this really is a new Tracker / Trax, that will be a homerun for Chevy i wonder if they could update the regal sportback and tourx with the front end design of the orange one

  13. I’ll give Benz credit. They at least show pics of the most expensive trim when releasing to the press (concept or otherwise). The reality is though that most of them sold will not carry the same high end material and colors schemes of the top of the line trim shown here. Take away the two tone color and you have a pretty boring design given the make and supposed “best or nothing else” marketing behind it. Oh and only 224HP on a seven passenger SUV? Seems like someone here has some crow to eat given their history of slamming brands Ike Cadillac and Lincoln for their “weak” engine offerings.

  15. That was never a future G-wagon, why would they ever change the styling? in 2040 the G-wagen will look the same as it does today.

  18. Yeah, @smk4565 you're comparing two very different sized vehicles. The Stinger is priced very well compared to the luxury sport sedans. GT(with the 3.3TT) starts at $39,300.

  19. I would literally take a less powerful V8 simply for the noises.

  20. @smk4565 https://www.mercedes-benz.com/en/mercedes-benz/design/vision-ener-g-force-off-road-for-the-future/ GLB is NOT the Ener-g force concept. To quote their own website!!! New off-road design idiom. “The Ener-G-Force is the vision of an off-roader that, while reflecting tomorrow’s adventures, also invokes the genes of the Mercedes-Benz off-road icon, the G model,” observes Gorden Wagener, Head of Design at Mercedes-Benz Cars. “Modern and cool, it could also be a clue about a new beginning for the off-road design idiom of Mercedes-Benz”.

  21. You are comparing large apples to smaller oranges. The Stinger is quite a bit longer and larger than any 3 series. It is closer in size to the 5 series, which is way higher in price, when comparably equipped. Furthermore, that $51K Stinger comes fully loaded while most of the turbo 6 models are closer to the $42-45 range. It never surprises me how much you try to dismiss or belittle anything that isn’t from Germany.

  22. ^ I certainly get that sentiment, but if I recall the specs correctly, the '86 Mustang 2.3 (my wife had an '87) was 88 HP, the return of the '82 5.0 V8 GT had 225 HP, and the 2019 2.3T has 330! 330 is 3.9 times what your '86 had, and just remind yourself how often you open the hood on your vehicles.

  23. Yeah, I'd want a V8. When I think 4cyl Mustang, I think of my '86 LX which felt really underpowered w/ the 2.3. I know today's 2.3 has plenty of power, but it's still just a 4cyl.

  24. A blinged-up production vehicle isn't a true concept. And this is still a "concept"- we all know how hard daimler pulled back with the new g-class after showing the ener-g concept.

  25. It's kind of retro, reminds me of the '65-66 289 High Performance badge.

  26. I like the concept interior, esp. in brown. The exterior is nice, not the mini-G-class as was rumored.

  29. You can call them that, but I will call them "STATUS REALISTS". The same kind of people who buy a Rolex never mind that watches costing 1/10th as much often have as good a movement or finish. They are realists because (1) a Rolex is recognizable by everyone and that is half the reason to spend $10K on a stainless steel watch, and (2) a Rolex actually GOES UP IN VALUE year after year. They are the same kind of realists who will buy a home with a hole in the roof and mold in the walls BECAUSE OF THE ZIP CODE. It is you who is arrogant and ignorant when you think that people do not, or should not, buy a car (or anything) based on the prestige and status its badge confers.

  30. This is the best I could find considering they didn't announce anything yet. "Look for High Performance 2.3L Mustangs to hit dealerships this fall. Pricing will be announced later this spring, but expect to pay more than the $2,495 charged for the outgoing EcoBoost Perf Pack. But rest assured that even with the handling package, it will undercut the $8,960 premium charged for a base GT by a significant margin." https://www.motortrend.com/cars/ford/mustang/2020/2020-ford-mustang-high-performance-ecoboost-23l-first-look-review/

  32. I'll stop short of saying ZERO. I personally sold a C7 Z06 to someone who had 2 previous Ferraris. He was done with them. Done with poor service, done with poor reliability, and done with their outrageous costs. In fact, in a lot of ways, i think Ferrari owners are the the stereotypical Corvette owners of the supercar realm. They buy them to conclude to themselves and show others they've made it, they hardly ever drive them, and they are oftentimes little more than petulant fanboys.

  33. Overall, I like it. It doesn't look like anything special and there's definitely zero "wow factor" to it. You'd think they wouldn't have wanted to succeed to Lincoln in the interior game..but they certainly did. It's definitely an upgrade from the current one but it isn't a game changer. Also, that green might not sell but boy-oh-boy is it pretty. I'm quite obsessed with dark "colors" lately. Dark green, dark blue, dark red... Love'm.

  34. Looks great. These things are just fantastic vehicles. If i had to pick a big SUV to travel cross country in with a family and cargo in tow, it'd be a GLS all the way. I love the clean, subtle design here. Mercedes is doing some damn impressive things these days.

  36. it's similar to but different from the 2015 China market Cruze. Which is similar to but different from the 2nd gen US Cruze. The white China Cruze looks better because it doesn't have the cheesy black C-pillar trim that GM loves.

  37. I think if they ever make the Camaro habitable for humans and make it so you can see out of it, give it an all wheel drive option, and style it so it’s nice looking to the majority of the population again, and they don’t overprice it, then the Camaro should sell quite well! or did I just describe the challenger

  38. So, an interesting rumor I hear... Found out GM trademarked the name "Cavalier" again.....though this time it also includes the US. Knowing that the both the Sonic and Spark get the ax in the very near future- makes me wonder if the Cavalier is coming back as a simple sedan (like the Versa) and replace the Cruze, Sonic, and the Spark. I know Nissan is going to chase the youth market with affordable tech and style- maybe GM could be thinking the same? (and yes, bring that same one they use in china and elseware....

  39. MB only sold 22K CLAs in 2018 competing against the TLX, so the TLX is obviously the better car. I mean; if you're looking for a FWD premium small sedan, why go with a copy?

  42. I totally agree with this, unlike GM of past and other American manufactures that ignored Deming and Drucker who ended up going to Japan and teaching them about Quality Management for Profit, Mary is a student of them. Right now Mary knows that if she is able to turn consistent profits and plan for the future, they can take back the market share and leadership role, but this first comes by making sure the company is profitable which she has done even if many of us do not agree with how the auto's are being built now. She is for sure investing in the future and will leave GM with a legacy that will be realized after the fact. Profitable GM with Quality will bring market share and long term growth. Another outstanding CEO was IBM Gerstner hired in 1993 and turned IBM into one of the most profitable service companies and proved he also built a deep bench of leadership by taking his Golden Parachute over 10 years to prove what he built would last and still does today. It will be very interesting to watch everyone from the Germans to the Asian and American auto companies and see who becomes the new leader in the EV auto world.

  43. What is it priced well compared to? The Stinger is no nicer than an Optima or Camry. A V6 Camry loaded up is $35k, the Stinger is that with rear drive and an extra 50 hp or so for $15,000 more. The Stinger isn't a luxury car.
