Yes, that blue and tan is nice. I also love Lincoln's interesting interior colors. The blue is divine. Luxury cars could be more bespoke because luxury car buyers want to stand out. Lincoln gets a thumbs up for all of their newest interiors. Lincoln wants to be seen as a car for people who come from wealthy families for generations... where Cadillac comes across as too techy and sterile... unwarm.2 points

XT4-V Blackwing.... oops... I just ordered a dishwasher part instead.2 points

I agree, it gets cumbersome say something like CT5-V Blackwing Just drop the V for the Blackwing trim.... maybe that's what they're doing....2 points

I agree you need a more accessible sport trim and 640 hp is not really usable on regular roads. But if you spent 15 years on the “V” name brand I don’t know if I would throw that away in a reboot. Although Cadillac threw away SRX and CTS for reboots so I guess it doesn’t matter. If Blackwing is the top trim and you are going with a word name there, why not use word names for the models too and throw away the awful alfa-numeric names in favor of word names.2 points

I see no resemblance between the Tacoma front end and GMC's overwrought bling.2 points

it's CRAZY the mpg on a huge cavernous heavy minivan, that 26.3 is mix of city / highway over many miles, the 32.5 was a long stretch of about 80 miles on a trip last weekend. and a nice strong smooth and quiet v6. The carplay hadn't worked in several months and then my wife said the car did itself and over the air update the other day. And after that, the screen apps were updated and some new things, and the Carplay fixed itself and started working again. WIN no trip to the dealer.2 points

Rivian news can be found here. Thank you for pointing out that I had made an error setting up the news flow from the articles app to the forums. That has now been fixed and all future Rivian articles will automagically go into the forum. Wish granted.1 point

The CTS coupe is an example of a polarizing Cadillac. So terrible though. With a gunslit back glass when viewed from inside the car, and just an ugly fat ass. Difficult to believe it came from the same company that has ACED the coupe mystique innumerable times over its history. I did like the ATS coupe, but now I feel it was a bit too tame perhaps. Where is Cadillac's GOLDILOCKS? Escalade. CT6.1 point

I'm cool with learning yet one more moniker--I'd be okay with just that... CT5 Blackwing, CT6 Blackwing, etc. You only see "CT#" in one spot on the car... Blackwing (or perhaps some logo) can be on the trunk, seats, dash, when you start it up, engine cover, etc.1 point

that's because GM's plastics and leathers are cheap to start with and when its not tan, gray or black it looks that much more like ass. If the leather and plastics were better quality the unique colors would look a lot better. I sat in a Stelvio with the red leather awhile back and all the red interior and leather looked really good. GM never really pulls off colors well because they don't execute.1 point

They're not broke. They have no debt and they're making a profit. They're just spending all their R&D on Alfa Romeo... which is dumb, and some new Jeeps. They need new engines for all the new Jeeps coming out. Something like 4 new big jeeps coming??1 point

but it's not an S-Klasse, so it must be junk.1 point

I don't think the Tacoma is that bad. The GM mid-sizers are starting to look dated. And I just can't with all that chrome on most of the GM big-trucks.1 point

FCA needs to rationalize their product lines long before they take electrification seriously. They are too broke to do anything else at this time.1 point

I actually agree with Bill - the American trucks are so varied and so profitable, the regular cab should be in regular production like any other model. Yes; even Bill's coveted RC/short box. ? Frankly, it's the 'extended cab' that makes no sense- you can't put people in the back- so who's buying these, and at the very least- why isn't there a rear storage option that deletes the rear 'seat'?1 point

current 500e sales, year to date : 272. Good luck with your speedy, 12-month 'global electric leader' plan, which seemingly largely means issuing press releases about (possible) electric vehicle plans.1 point

I saw a new Lacrosse driving home last night. It was white. I like it better than the chunky 2010-2016 rendition. It had 2 exhaust rectangles. You could sort of see the suspension's wishbone arms at the rear of the car when it pulled away. The big demerits, for me, are the seating position, console height, etc. I ain't 6'-2". If one were to get it with the new entry-level 2.5 L4, would they still get 2 exhaust outlets … or one? Ah, yes, summer in Seattle … about 2 months of it … but outstanding nonetheless.1 point

Duel is probably one of the most suspenseful because of how little dialog there is, that is a good one. Gone in 60 Seconds is probably my favorite, good story, some comedy and action and a ton of cars. The Cannonball Run (and Speed Zone) series is good for corny, ridiculous car stuff, but the zany cross country race idea is fun.1 point

Thank you! This is a tale re-told over and over in the auto industry. The American auto companies refuse to admit when they flub something. Take Taurus - best selling car in America 92-96. New Taurus comes out and it's a styling dud. What does Ford do? Let it rot on the vine for 10 years (with a mild makeover somewhere in between). Compare that story with the ill conceived Honda Civic in 2012. Developed during the financial crisis of the 08-10 era - this was a styling and content disaster. Super cheap. Honda started making changes to it the second model year and even truncated the generation as a whole for a whole-new Civic in 2015 for MY 2016. GM should just admit that they were wrong with the direction of Camaro styling and re-think it in a more appealing way. Also, lower the pricing or offer more believable base trims. I sometimes wonder if they purposely jack up V8 pricing simply to bias their CAFE numbers (Higher price, lower sales - and thus a lower hit on corporate fuel economy, but more per unit profit - good for wall st short term investors)1 point

I forget which models had/have that gorgeous cocoa brown interiors. Why GM would ditch that for just black interiors is insane, especially down here in FL where the heat is rather brutal and humid. Why does GM not have any variety at all these days? Are they trying to repel potential customers?1 point

i do respect the choice aspect here. But I think to omit even the option of the safety equipment on the base trim for something that is standard on Kias, is quite GM like and frustrating as hell. GM in general. I would love a Regal TourX wagon. But the TourX with cloth, you can't get heated seats on as an option. Not a big deal really except that often the TourX in cloth is even stickering at 37k on the lot, and I'm sorry, a 37k MSRP vehicle. Especially a mid lux brand like buick....Dual Zone climate and heated seats should be in that vehicle at 37,000. And a nicer seat material than ratty cloth that even Suzuki wouldn't put in their cars. On the Silverado they sell so many of them they can afford to have so many different configurations. On the XT4, the heated seats option covers the front and rear seats. Now that i like as Cadillac doing something in line with luxury. Both rows. I've had blind spot monitor on both my cars now and have gotten used to it to 'assist' me in checking my blind spot better. It does IMO save me some close calls, it's a feature I absolutely want to have. It's most useful function is when you are passing it helps you to be more confident in the space you have before you pull back in front of someone. I think there are some aftermarket blind spot systems out there. But back to my point, Cadillacs IMO ought to have them, at least available on every trim. I think standard, and maybe able to be disabled by the user if desired.1 point

Not really... The GM-Ford 10-speed uses a total of four planetary gear sets and 6 clutches, although no more than 4 clutches and 3 sequential ratios are ever engaged at any one time (not counting the axle ratio). It is impractical to try to use every single element as input and output to one another.1 point

Yeah, a Mojito w/ appetizers, 2+ glasses of wine and an after-dinner Hennessy may have been too much... but it was fun. Today is a sad day, though...have to take one of our dogs to the vet to PTS...0 points

Black is my first choice in an interior color. I really don't care how many of what other vehicles I didn't buy have in them. Changing the green interior of my B-59 to black.0 points
