Unfortunately, I have that same feeling. They seemed to cover the rear so much to make it look like something else..it'll end up as a fckd up coupe CUV. 259 is pretty awesome. The electric-only range of like 18 miles is a little weak but I get it, it's a plug-in that seems more performance oriented.2 points

Some interesting news in the auto world today: Ford Mustang inspired Mach E is caught in public. https://www.autoblog.com/2019/08/21/ford-mach-e-electric-crossover-mustang-inspired-spied/#slide-2163283 Looks like it will be coupe inspired CUV. Heavy cover, but be interesting. Chevrolet BOLT will have a 259 mile battery pack for the 2020 model year along with new colors and hi-def cameras. Here is hoping that the colors also apply to the inside and that black and white dash. https://www.autoblog.com/2019/08/22/2020-chevy-bolt-ev-range-increase/ The other is a first review of the Lincoln Aviator Hybrid. Seems to be a focus on performance over efficiency with the power it has. 494HP / 630 lb-ft of torque. Crazy cool. https://www.autoblog.com/2019/08/22/2020-lincoln-aviator-hybrid-grand-touring-first-drive/2 points

They(All EV-producing companies except Tesla) need to stop with trying to make their EVs quirky and weird. Make the interior "normal" and that becomes a non-issue.2 points

Hyundai and Kia have figured out what real car buyers, and not the insane folks who argue about inane things....want. Subaru and Lexus would be among my top picks for my next car. You all know my feelings about Ford, although they have moderated a bit. Honda needs more coffee for the guys in the design studio, that will never change. And they are resting on their laurels. A lot of the Chevy and Ford Loyalty is full size trucks. Also why RAM ranks so high and the rest of FCA ranks in the dumpster fire end of the list. The trade war will influence people....as much as anything, brand image with American nastiness. One Senator, Tom Cotton, suggested expelling Chinese students from the USA. This won't end well. Not trying to be political, just realistic. Outside of the Mustang.....yeah.....about those cars that just got cancelled.2 points

Buick could with China as well as Cadillac. Bigger question is will GM invest the needed updates / quality of materials to achieve it?2 points

GM isn't the place to shop if you want adaptive. It only comes on the very top trims... oftentimes not even available in a model. If you want adaptive, you need to go Japanese or new Ford. FCA is in between, making it optional without forcing you into a high trim first.2 points

So my Chevrolet Trailblazer SS came with the Bose head unit and Bose amp with Bose Speakers. Last summer the XM satellite stopped working and as much as I tried to work with XM to get them to hard reset the signal to my head unit it just stopped working. So I canceled my service. Low and behold, the next morning the preview XM station started working again and then later in the day stopped, so no radio anywhere via XM for me. This spring the rear speakers started to on and off have a electronic buzz and wine and it would come and go, so I figure my speakers were dying. Over the weekend, I came out from running an errand and turned the auto on, got in to go and all I had even though the volume was at zero, a screech from the rear speakers. So I stopped by Car Toys here and they took a look and told me my capacitors were dying in the Bose system, common issue and seems to play out on the web as I am at 157,000 miles on the SS and it seems to be when the audio system dies. I looked online for a new head unit, $1,500, new amp $400 plus tax and shipping, I was looking at 2K for the same thing and not even new. Both were refurb as there seems to not be any new units left. So back to Car Toys https://www.cartoys.com/ and I ended up with a Head unit and backup camera. Head Unit is Pioneer AVH-2550NEX 6.8 Inch DVD Receiver with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Backup Camera is Quinn Acoustics QC670 Automotive License Plate Frame Rearview Backup Camera with Night Vision Have to say that the large touch screen is really nice, Android Auto rocks and the backup camera is great for tight parking in garages in the city or places where your normal shoulder checks and mirrors cannot help. System sounds great as I still have the bose speakers, but over all cannot be happy and was only $1,400 including the connection harness that allows all the normal GM steering wheel controls to work. YEA! Just realized the picture is fuzzy of the Head unit, will take an updated clear picture when I get home tonight.2 points

Hyundai teased an image of its『45』Concept today ahead of the Frankfort International Motor Show. The car will be a fully electric vehicle and will be a symbolic milestone for Hyundai's future EV design. The concept looks back to the brand's first model in the 1970s for inspiration and is visibly angular. The new design language is an evolution of Hyundai's "Sensuous Sportiness" design. ‘Sensuous’ stands for enhanced emotional values that customers can experience through design, and ‘Sportiness’ is determined to implement those values through innovative mobility solutions. The 『45』Concept will be unveiled on September 10th.1 point

Oh stop it drama queen. There was a conservation about the subject you hate prior to your interjection. What qualifies as a “random thought” anyway? I see the same things talked about on this thread all the time and no one has had a problem with it (unless is politics which gets shut down for obvious reasons). Want to solve YOUR problem about seeing anything to do with dfelts preferred subject matter? Add him to your “ignore” list and POOOF! Problem solved and you can stop acting like a baby about it. Again if his were about anything else you didn’t hate, you wouldn’t have a problem with it.1 point

All of GM's new BEVs should be crossovers ONLY. No more BEV cars until further notice (or at least until sales actually improve).1 point

More Cool News, As many have stated here about EV's, variety of assortment styles is what is holding back EV adoption and AAA latest survey of their members show 20% will go pure EV on their next vehicle purchase to reduce maintenance and increase ease of fueling by fueling at home. Now with that said a much larger survey of people across the US has brought up the following reasons that people have not moved to EV yet. https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1124659_survey-range-cost-infrastructure-sum-up-why-shoppers-avoid-evs Have to say that the VW ID Buggy would be a blast to have in sunny states and places with off road parks especially sand dunes. https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1124600_first-drive-review-vw-id-buggy-electric-car-meb-platform EV Fun!1 point

100% agree. I actually find its better to use that backing out of a parking lot because it sees out around the vehicles next to me that are blocking my vision. I don't pull out all willy-nilly with it, but it is very helpful.1 point
-
Forgot to add the part where they did get the new vehicle. It works I guess The surround view camera is awesome Particularly my others in the family who can’t park straight or within the lines.1 point

It's shorter but it doesn't have an engine up front nor room for a driveshaft down the middle. The Bolt has more passenger interior volume. I do agree it would do better as a compact CUV instead of a subcompact. We all have been saying that for a long time now...1 point
-
The Bolt is just awkwardly shaped. If they made it more car OR more CUV I think it would sell much better. But, as a theoretical ride-share vehicle, I think the looks of it are irrelevant and it would do perfect there.1 point
-
Most of my ride-share rides have been done in vehicle the Bolt would be equal or larger than. I've only rode with more than 2 people twice in which we needed 5 or 6 seats. Yeah, the Bolt can't cover the complete spectrum of Uber or Lyft "packages" but the entry price compared to an EV Mercedes is probably only 2/3 the price or less. I think it is safe to assume it would pay itself off quicker than the Mercedes even if you can't "Uber Black".1 point
-
It seems pretty accurate to me. Especially having the US truck brands in the most loyal customers. The car/cuv owners might not be but the truck buyers alone probably force them in that list. The least loyal list seems pretty logical as well. The "crapier" brands tend to have people come and go more often than re-buy another Fiat 500. Volvo surprises me on that list as they seem to have a pretty fantastic lineup right now but being on the bottom of the list is "okay". Chevy Silverado, Ram 1500.. surprise surprise..1 point
-
You're getting pretty specific there and I would wager those rides are a much smaller percentage than 1 or 2 people. It isn't actually small. It just isn't van-large.1 point
-
This exact example(I read through the forum page) is a 70 year old man and his wife so I believe it was done for ease of getting in and out of the vehicle for the two of them. Yep, the Ranger just doesn't look very good outside of like one trim and it gives off a tall and skinny vibe.1 point
-
Interesting, looks wide and low. Guess it is an EV car? Wonder what the battery pack size will be and the performance of the power train. FWD/AWD/RWD, so many questions and so little info at this time. Excitement!1 point

I can't imagine it is that difficult to lower them 2 inches. They don't need to be slammed or anything, just a more athletic stance. This is dropped 3" front and 4" back. The owner said the caster is the only alighment item that wasn't to spec but it was "very close". I think 2"-3" would be doable from the factory without issue, but this isn't coming from a Colorado engineer.1 point
-
Like the new Ranger, the Colorado/Canyon were designed to be "high riders". If anyone has noticed, the 2WD versions of these trucks ride as high as the 4WD (non ZR2) versions. Hence no ZQ8 Colorado, the chassis isn't set up for easy lowering.1 point

See how dfelt injects his political views into posts that otherwise are not political? It happens all over the site. He should run for congress. And it is not a "rollback", it is simply a milder increase (thanks Reuters for the slanted article title). And it is rooted in reality based on what type of vehicles people have shown a willingness to spend THEIR OWN money on, as opposed to OTHER PEOPLE'S money.1 point

Since the above scenario won't happen in any of our lifetimes, why even bring it up?1 point

You know I had forgotten. The Blazer and Equinox cargo numbers are almost identical also. The Blazers game is v6 and wider cabin vs 4 cyl only Equinox with a bit less width. When the new style Equinox came out I remember it being criticized for pie in the sky msrp but now equinox sticker prices are insanely less $$$ than the blazers out there and the blazers only have a bit more real space.1 point

GMC needs to bring back the Syclone AWD. As @ccap41 stated above, not a hard thing to do, just will GMC do it?1 point

Off road is cool.....but I miss the sport trucks. Love the idea of some fast trucks.....1 point

When we have autonomous vehicles with no steering wheel or pedals, people won't care about ride/handling or any of that. All they will care about is space, in which a box gives the most space and comfort. This is a commercial van now, but this application could be in wide use in 10 years.1 point

Well it looks like, according to the GMC-provided teaser photo, the Canyon will receive a miniature facelift for the 2021 model year. It also sounds like the 2020 model year will be a short one for Colorado/Canyon, which is what I suspected when I read the order guide on the 2020 models. The Canyon AT4 will be designated a 2021 model.1 point

• A van has 2 uses; transport 1 / a couple people, and transport stuff. It’s not cool/doesn't look good, doesn't impress anyone and doesn't drive/handle/accelerate well. • EQC is 90% a GLC, which starts at $43K. Daimler electrified it and jacked the price to a (projected) $70,000. As is typical of all BEVs. The electrified cargo/ occasional family hauler is going to be madlymore expensive that the rest of the minivan segment. If it was going to be cheap they would've put the hard plastic from the sprinter in there. • A eqc is far less capable of doing either of the 2 things a sprinter can do, so it should start well below the circa $38K the sprinter is. It won’t tho.1 point

Chrysler 300, right? I rented one. I liked it. I didn't love it. I expected it to be a much more refined experience than the Charger, to differentiate itself. It wasn't. It was all in the sheet metal, seating, and shape and finishes in the dash. I know I've reviewed one here. I certainly think they are much easier on the eye at the end of their run than what the initial (now a "gang banger") version looks like. Got to be careful with the 300, too. It really needs toned down colors, wheels, options, and such to keep it classy. It can go pimpy real fast. This is my idea of nice as far a 300 goes. Yes, folks, L.A. does have an ugly side ... or two ... or three. That would be in the revitalized arts district right next to the concrete culvert that is the L.A. River.1 point

Again; with that car-level interior, and the fact that the similar r-class started at $52K, AND this is to be electric, I fully expect it to be $70K to start. If it were gas with the shitty sprinter interior, i could see $35K.1 point

I wonder if they still own the Rover name or if that was sold off to the chinese. They need a family car brand.1 point
