If you zoom the pic, you could kinda see that the back seats end near the C Pillar. Then you could safely assume that almost immediately after that, the trunk commences. And if you could visualize, that makes for a huge trunk. But then, you could almost assume, safely assume, that the trunk opening is low, and not very big. THAT is why from a design like that, that a hatch opening SHOULD have made it in the design. Where the glass ends, it seems like its tinted glass... Or it could be another material, plastic? like a floating roof style thing, to make it seem like the glass IS that big... And then from this angle, you clearly see that its a plastic covering of some sort that lines up with the opening of the trunk which confirms my assumption that the opening seems low and maybe not sufficient. Why do automakers INSISTENTLY do this MAKING it DIFFICULT for the users of these vehicles to USE the TRUNK of their sedans? THEY KNOW that custmoers CHOOSE CUVs for the EASE of entry in and out of the vehicle, BUT ALSO for the EASE of USAGE of the CARGO space which INCLUDES the HATCH of the CUV!!! MAKE a sleek, fastback SEDAN but WITH a hatch, and MAYBE sell MORE sedans? On my next car purchase, if sedans continue to be fastback, coupe styled, but the trunk opening is crap, I may switch over to a CUV/SUV myself... The Fusion is at the limit of what my wife and I could accept.4 points

No. Ford Fusion had an AWD option on the 2.0. For 2019 they had a 2.0 AWd se package that was a great deal. Ford’s had 2.0 AWD available on the fusion the entire time. I took a hard look at getting one. An mkz 3.0 AWD would be a great used car find.3 points

For sedan sales to start augmenting and to get people out of their CUV/SUV fix, sedans have to become passenger, family, cargo hauling friendly again. If that means AWD, then yeah! It certainly means better accessible trunk space that is large enough for family needs and egress and ingress improvements over what we have now as sedans. Interior space shoudnt be taken for granted either. Rear leg room should be a priority along with head and shoulder room front and rear. As much as I like the sleek, fastback design, that kind of design favorises looks over practicality and usage. And...maybe sedans need to get a tad bigger also. The Edge is on the same platform as the Fusion, so the Edge is just as long as the Fusion, but the Edge is sooooo much larger that the Fusion. The Edge rides taller and has a taller profile, nothing says that the Fusion can't ride a tad taller while utilizing is space more efficiently while retaining its car qualities over the Edge as a CUV...2 points

They use both. The GMCs with the 6.3 liter use it also. The microphones are already there for OnStar. The speakers are already there. In the case of my Encore, Bose is already there. The DSP is build into the stereo. It's not that much extra to hook it all up.2 points

Love some good seafood including tasty shell fish myself. Growing up in Oregon an hour drive from the Coast and eating some of the freshest seafood including the best dungeness crab I've ever had. Surprisingly, Phoenix and Scottsdale have some really good fresh seafood in fine dining restaurants and better grocery stores that's flown in daily just an hour flight from So. Cal. I've had some of the freshest and very tender grilled salmon and fresh shell fish here in Scottsdale at The Capital Grille, Eddie V's Prime Seafood, Tommy Bahama Restaurant and Bar and daily fresh oysters served at Dominick's Steakhouse. Gotta get your natural Selenium everyone!1 point

Except... the bustleback Seville's lid was actually pretty long, it just had its kink toward the top of the lid, not the bottom, the actual opening was not that tiny. And it lost .5 cu ft trunk space v. the previous X-body based car (14.4 v. 14.9 cu ft).1 point

39 years is the amount of time a business can amortize/depreciate the expense. That's both property and building(done individually, obviously). Depending on the equipment itself, they're depreciated over 5-7 years.1 point

That's not true, you could get AWD on a Fusion SE... $26,480. You can go on Ford's Build-It site and build one right now. They're still building Fusions for 2020... don't know when that will stop. The ES will probably get eAWD in the hybrid only. Uses a system like the Pruis's AWD. Highly unlikely.1 point

Exactly. But all wheel drive is a 1350 dollar option on Altima. If GM chose to do it for say 1500 on its base models it would make sense. Yes. At least that. And leave a bunch of desired equipment off of it still as well.1 point

I like sleek, fastback shapes..if they have hatchbacks....not a fan of tiny mail slot trunk openings. If you can't fit a standard 12x12 box through the trunklid opening, then the usefulness of the trunk is limited... driving mostly hatchback SUVs and hatchback coupes most of my life has made me jaded about sedan trunks. About the only sedan I drove regularly that had a reasonably big trunk was the DTS..that was nice.1 point

10 years ago the AWD choices were mostly Subaru, Audi, the Ford Fusion and the Buick Regal/Lacrosse. All of them are quite capable AWD systems.1 point

Haven't eaten at a Long John Silvers in maybe 15 years..pretty bad IIRC. A random eating experience I do miss, though...I miss having an IKEA nearby...I used to go to the one in Chandler, AZ periodically for lunch or breakfast.. tasty. Never been a Costco shopper, with Amazon I rarely need big box retailers.1 point

Sometimes, one has to "just say no" to specials and coupons. I clipped a handful of Long John Silver coupons on threw them into the console. At midday, I was hungry and the light bulb went on. I used one. I got 2 pieces of fish, 2 sides, and 2 hush puppies. I then regretted it. I didn't get sick or anything. The food was just gross. I threw out the remaining clipped coupons. Perhaps that's why 5 years lapse between visits to LJS. Again, like Nancy Reagan once said, "just say no." The "Tour de Costco" is almost guaranteed to have a better outcome.1 point

The shape is quite similar, similar to the Malibu also. All 6 window fastback midsize sedans w short rear decks. The differences are in the details. I kind of like what Hyundai and Kia have been doing lately on their new models w/ the lighting details and bright trim..the Sonata is very distinctive, and this car appears to be also..1 point

The only similarity is possibly the profile which quite a few cars have these days courtesy of the coupe look craze. Nothing else on those two cars come close to matching otherwise IMO. The Kia looks far better too. All car makes borrow from each other these days. It’s not just a Hyundai/Kia thing anymore.1 point
