  1. Im grateful that evolution or God, it dont matter to me which God or what evolution, make my head go more or less 180 degrees from side to side and my eyes have a very wide peripheral vision while having quite decent depth perception and a very multi-functional brain to figure out my own blind spot/lane changing things. Good old trusty mirrors, 3 I might add, do the rest. Keep in mind, one vehicle I learned to drive in, was one of these... Regular wheelbase, 2 biggish side mirrors, 1 windshield mirror and only 2 windows waaaaaaay in the back there to figure it all out... As humans as of late, in the last decade or so, we DEFINITELY use our brains and common sense less and less. We rely tooooooooo much on these dumb a$$ electronic gizmos... I remember a time when the dumb GPS told us to turn left now, and dumbazzes turned left NOW and either hit buildings or fell off cliffs or even went as far as entering other countries and got lost...using GPS...got lost using GPS directions... I cant for the life of me comprehend such nonsense, this whole need to rely on electronics for our personal safety. Our ancestors used their wits, eyes, sight, smell and BRAINS to get out of trouble...we need beeps and bongs from a gadget made in China ? with cheap, shytty, shoddy phoqing parts...? ? Im getting sick to my stomach with this shyte!!! ?

  2. Hey guys, look, it's an article and questions about the Palisade... How about focusing on the Palisade and staying there? After watching the driving review of this above on YouTube, definitely get it. Quick, quiet, smooth, effortless, features all over, and that shifter & console is actually well done. Really like the wide screen with CarPlay as well. Makes many other choices in these classes seem plebian and 3rd world. Competition is GREAT. Great choice. The pricing on these is truly impressive, and I'm glad Hyundai/Kia realized that, and continue to have both demand and "I'll pay MSRP, as even that's a great deal" from the public.

  9. We should all worship at a Greek temple me thinks... Sacrifice a baby lamb in the name of Zeus, we all eat and drink like Gods and philosophise the night away, wirhout a care in the world. Unless of course those pesky Persians are knocking at our doorstep, we get in ourHyundai Palisade and mow them down!!! Wait...maybe a different scenario... We get into our Dodge Challengers and tell those Brits to PHOQUE OFF!!! AMERICA! HELL YEAH!!! @caddycruiser I mentioned the Palisade. You happy? PS: You could talk about the Palisade. Ill cash in your 2 cents. Or maybe not. But doncha think its a little more fun the way I do it? I mean, WTF is soooooo exciting about a Palisade that you want me to discuss? You want me to wax poetic about a generic all too common CUV? Somebody discussed electronic safety shyt. I, in turn, wanted to make sure we, as a society, stop with this nonsense with the fear of us needing electronic shyt thrown our way. We got a brain, lets start using it!!! For real!!!

  11. Yeah....Z71. I had a minor brain fart. I know Z51 is a Corvette trim. Its just that even if Im changing heart for fullsized pick-up trucks and fullsized SUVs...Id still rather have a Z51. ? Either that or old age is kicking in and Im mixing up my numbers with my letters and my cars with my trucks... that would be called, I believe...virility. Or is it senility? ? Z51...Z71 Virility...senility. Same thing in my own little world. ?

  13. Hilarious piece bowing down at the Tesla altar: https://www.businessinsider.com/cybertruck-is-a-breakthrough-for-tesla-designer-franz-von-holzhausen-2019-11 • Buyers, even Tesla buyers, don't give a crap about Franz's 'artistic growth'. A functional vehicle has to be functional, and buyers want features and amenities, not a barren, cold, industrial object. • Holding up the Mini and the DB9 as examples of 'captivating design' is a stretch. E-Type is good everywhere above the wheel hubs, which is most of the car, but they never adequately finished it off below that. There are a hundred other more captivating designs from which to have chosen, which brings the writer's design sensibilities into question. As if praising the Tesla truck wasn't enough evidence of that. • If the Company is in a 'design rut', why not a 2nd generation of the 9-year old Model S? What stopped them from doing anything different in all the years of unveiling 4 different models? Why is the 3 nearly a carbon copy of the S, years later? What Tesla Roadster? In fact, is the truck merely hard evidence that Franz is a one-trick pony incapable of better, fresh and/or truly futuristic design? • Where did the Ridgeline remotely approach 'reinventing' the pick-up? It flopped because it was a substandard pickup, not because consumers didn't think it's designer hadn't grown enough as an artist. - - - - - Tesla truck best approximates a garbage truck; slab-sided, crude and seemingly without any artistic input. But at least a garbage truck has demonstrated functionality; you can put things in & get things out of it's cargo area.

  14. Z51 is a Corvette. Z71 is a truck but that's OK you're new. *wink* Hey that one dude from Chevy at the Los Angeles show presentation, didn't he say they're showing the 2021 Tahoe/Suburban shortly at a special event? I forget what day he said.

  18. As I finished work today. In my parking lot, there was a new Silverado. All black. Black and blacked-out everything. I must say...it was like that train wreck that @ocnblu couldnt take his eyes off...I was looking at it for the longest time. I do not know if it was a Z51 off road package like the pic above, but it was a 4 door, it had a high ground clearance. I was pondering why is it that I dont like pick-up trucks. This is why I didnt notice if the Silverado in question was a Z51 because when it comes to pick-up trucks, I simply dont care. I tune out. Unless its a muscle truck... 454 SS, Syclone and Typhoon, Lightning, Raptor, Ram SRT10, Lil Red Express, etc So...I was thinking, why dont I like pick-up trucks? Big. BOF. V8. RWD. I mean, I LOVE big American "land yachts". Big cruising machines. Especially in convertible form. ESPECIALLY if muscle car. Impala SS, Galaxie 500 XL. Bonnevilles, Grand Prixs, Super88s, El Dorados, Coupe DeVilles, Chrysler 300s, New Yorkers, Imperials, Continentals... The list goes on and on. I mean, the similarities in today's pick-up trucks as compared to the fabulous American cars of yore are striking. The great American car did evolve into what we have as pick-up trucks today. So, why didnt I evolve as well? Just a thought that I had today...maybe I start changing my attitude towards fullsized pick-up trucks and SUVs...

  22. I can almost guarantee nobody representing Hyundai has ever publicly stated they are emulating anything Cadillac, and there's no reason to do so. Cadillac is making less and less competitive vehicles and Hyundai and Genesis are quickly rising. I don't believe they have an XT7 coming until I see it. It's been said they're trying to cut costs over at Cadillac and that's why the XT6 is on a FWD platform instead of Omega, like it was originally planned. That's also why the CT5-V isn't getting the new 4.2, nor Escalade.

  23. Los Angeles - Nissan has unveiled the 2020 Nissan Sentra at the LA Auto Show Today. The new Sentra takes on the look of the larger Altima and Maxima to bring some harmony to the Nissan sedan lineup. The Sentra is Nissan's best selling model in the U.S. Nissan is adding Nissan Safety Shield 360 as standard equipment for 2020 with additional driver assisted technologies available. The platform is all new, now with an independent rear suspension and electric rack steering. A new 2.0-liter 4-cylinder replaces the previous 1.8-liter unit. The new motor produces 149 horsepower and 146 lb.-ft of torque, an increase of 20 percent and 16 percent respectively. Fuel economy is also projected to improve. All 2020 Sentra models come equipped with the latest generation Xtronic transmission. The center of gravity has been lowered by lowering the overall height 2.2 inches and increasing the track by 2.0 inches. Trim levels have been simplified to S, SV, and SR with just two option packages. The interior has been upgraded and refined to be more premium feeling. Android Auto and Apply CarPlay are standard with NissanConnect. The 2020 Sentra goes on sale in January 2020. View full article

  24. Nice exterior. Versa Sentra Altima all look like scaled versions of the same design kinda. Interior theme doesn’t totally match Altima and Versa. But a big improvement over the current. For engines Nissan tries to avoid turbo as much as possible. Be nice to see more power but it is class competitive. Nissan with no turbo and having cvt must be cheap to make. Mitsubishi’s even have turbos now. Lol

Here's an econobox spotted on November 9 when off to get coffee and found a parking spot in a residential area Note: 1 - one of the very few Chevrolet passenger cars that will remain in upcoming year(s). 2 - having seen one at a dealer, this color is called Passion Fruit. Hey, they also have Toasted Marshmallow. 3 - when equipped with wheel covers, these are going to have manual windows.

  27. It’s shameful that a Hyundai catches the eye more than a Cadillac but GM made their choice with the XT6 and have to live that stigma. It’s more than nice enough on the inside but about as exciting on the outside as 1970s Volvo. Hoping the next Escalade doesn’t share that same bring look.

  28. Stating on your own that "surreal1272 is not a GM hater" in past posts makes it pretty clear, but it's cool no worries everyone needs a buddy, just choose wisely because...ugh. Since Genesis doesn't have a CUV, then yes, that would make sense that they aren't brought up in this post. The pathetic part is it's Hyundai that is comically trying to compete and compare to Cadillac, and it's a poor execution at that. That's why @Drew Dowdell chimed in to agree that they are trying to emulate "riff" on Escalade, he hears from and talks to manufacturer reps in the automotive field to be much more in the know. GM has an XT7 RWD/AWD CUV based off the CT6 Omega platform planned as well, the XT6 is just a filler for now.

  29. Yet, it's clear that they are "trying" to emulate Escalade, just like they try to emulate MB, Acura and dare I say Infiniti with design cues in the G80 and G90. I know other manufacturers copy some cues here and there from competitors, but Hyundai is pretty blatant about it. Yes, there are GM top brass bean counters who need to be slapped upside the head with some of the decisions they make. Yes, Omega was going to underpin the XT6. Most likely worried about cannibalizing the Escalade sales, especially with a new one being released mid to late next year.

  30. Yeah not competitive, because the Escalade has dominated the fullsize segment for basically the entire 20 years since they came out in '99. The CT4 and 5 just came out so you have no merit in stating that they aren't or won't be competitive. ATS and CTS were very competitive as well and sold pretty well, XT5 has been a very competitive CUV and one of Cadillac's top sellers behind Escalade, also the new XT4 has been highly lauded by automotive journalists who have tested it and it's selling really well.

  31. I think driving both the XT6 or even another luxury make/model back to back with this Palisade would be the best way to compare them. Were they both low profile tires with 20" or 22" inch wheels? If both were loaded with all options you'd definitely get more from a luxury make and model than a Hyundai including the dealership experience, that's why they are a luxury car/CUV because of what you get for your money. Pot calling Kettle... Go back and read the post about the G90 and how pretty much every comment was "looks like an Acura" or "Audi" or "Volvo". You even joined in because it was the consensus that it's a knockoff.

  32. With a starting price that is $20K higher than the Hyundai, it better be $20K better than it but the fact that the Hyundai can even be mentioned along side the Cadillac seems to contradict that assessment. No amount of “dealership experience” makes for that either especially if one has actually had a Cadillac dealership experience worth that kind of coin. It reminds me of the comparison made between the Vette and cars like the 911. Sure, the Vette competes with it (and then some) but is a Chevrolet dealership experience anywhere close to a Porsche dealership experience? Is the build even comparable?
    -1 points
  33. You keep missing the fact that it's Hyundai trying to copy the design cues of Cadillac not the other way around, which is the only reason Cadillac was brought up in the discussion. Yep, $20K is about the premium you'd pay for a Cadillac compared to a Chevrolet or Lincoln to a Ford or Lexus to a Toyota. Good job, Gold Star for the day. How about sticking to the subject instead of changing it to fit your diatribe of whiny BS..."Oh I want everyone to think the Korean cars are awesome and anyone that thinks different well they're a fanboy and I'm going to tell them"...what a joke. I've owned luxury and non luxury makes and models so I know first hand what I'm talking about with the whole experience...do you? If not, then do yourself a favor...
