My 2010 G37S is at 192000 I have now 2016 Mazda 6 as my daily, will keep G for now as a "fun" car, it isn't worth much anyway but still runs great, and I really hope in 1-2 years I will be able to buy a used GT3503 points

Liking the ride. The 2.0 is quite nasal-ly but it seems to be getting broke in / smoother. MPG is down now with winter and shit winter blend although I still most often go to costco and put top tier premium in it. Defintely justifies the costco membership to save 20-40 cents a gallon on the premium. I'll probably take it for an oil change in the next couple weeks. Wife and I stole a lunch hour recently and went to the local BBQ joint. Parked right next to a red hot 2019 Blazer. Wife (without prompting) commented on how 'cute' the Blazer was. She generally doesn't comment on cars, so she must have really saw something she liked. I then informed her that if we hadnt gotten the TourX, the Blazer in exactly that color was the runner up but that the numbers worked out better on the TourX for more stuff, too. Recently there has been statements like, we don't need a van next time, and 'the van's too big'. And so methinks that depending on what happens with less than year left on the Pacfica lease now, she may just fine with the red hot Blazer I never got instead of the TourX. In the meantime, whenever i drive something like our van and get back in the TourX, i just think that despite my wanting to capitulate to the modern way of an SUV for better ingress and egress, I just enjoy driving the TourX so much. It's not a luxury vehicle, and it's not perfect... but the interior design and the driving position and the console lend a sporty intimate (but not too much so) feel that so many vehicles....particularly CUV's and SUV's....do not have. Even sedans. Someday, and maybe sooner rather than later I will hop on the CUV bandwagon. But for now, the nice handling and ride, good reflexes of a sedan like vehicle with AWD for the winter and nice pulses of turbo torque make for a nice ride. It's been enjoyable so far and it's cool how it's unique in the sea of the mind numbing automotive landscape.2 points

No doubt the sound of a connecting rod blowing thru the oil pain is distinctive, too.2 points

Considering I previously went 17 years between buying daily drivers, I probably won't change soon...I plan to keep this current '14 Jeep to 100k..it's almost to 50k now. So I'm probably 3-5 years from looking seriously at something new/er.2 points

If anyone is like me, your mind is always thinking about what's next. So here it is: when thinking about what you want in your NEXT vehicle, what are you looking to change v. what you drive now? BIGGER? Smaller? Configuration/bodystyle change? Color? Powertrain? Cost? Brand? SPECIES? Post your current plans here. Let's flesh out the features you want next, and why.1 point

Yeah, like one strange thing here or there that GM engineering tends to miss at the last second and it makes it through the final inspection. Like everything is 98% awesome and there's the one thing that has you scratching your head like, WTF were they thinking here?! LOL!!1 point

@dfelt Wow, that SS of yours looks like it just came off the showroom floor. Burgundy is a yes / no depending on the vehicle. On yours, it works. I've liked it for vehicle interiors since I was a teen and it sold well.1 point

I drove it last week, albeit not crazy hard. It's smooth and quiet with minimal lag. Still, I must say that there is a little more "rubber band" effect than say the VW-Audi CEUC 4.0TFSI. That might be because that engine peaks lower and with less toque (443 lb-ft @ 1,500 rpm) and doesn't make as mcuh power 435 hp @ 5,500 rpm. Less boost means less boost rise and a more linear perceived power delivery. I still think that trying to be more European is a mistake for Cadillac and GM. There is no need to do that. I'll very much prefer that Cadillac stuff their flagships with a "Premium" Pushrod V8 given the features which Chevy had to cut out from the LT2 for cost reasons. Features like individual throttles, Dual Injection and concentric cam dual VVT. A 6.8L V8 with all these features and the LS7 stroke will produce an estimated 550 bhp @ 6,200 rpm with 525 lb-ft @ 5,200 rpm. No turbos, no intercoolers, no lag, no extra weight and no extra things to break. With AFM it'll still turn in 16/25 mpg which is good enough and no worse than the LTA 4.2TT. I'll also get rid of ALL the 3.6L V6es altogether. Full size Sedan and SUV Caddy customers can have a choice between the 2.7L Turbofour or the big V8 depending on their preferences for economy or performance. There is no reason for the 310-335 hp V6 to exist. Crossover and compact customers can choose between the 2.0T and the 2.7T. Very simple power train lineup. Maybe they can upgrade the 2.0T and 2.7L to a "premium" setup exclusive to Caddies and Buicks -- Air-to-water intercooling, individual throttle butterflies and dual injection. The 2.0T should easily make 280-300 hp and the 2.7T 380~420 hp with NO CHANGE to compression ratio and boost pressure (by not running out of breathe at 4,500 rpm).1 point

I would gird your loins for the anouncement that the EQA and EQB will end up being Europe or China only as MB delays to 2023 global EV production at the Earliest. Plenty of news story's but MB is having Battery production problems that started in Feb 2019 and continue still now. https://www.carscoops.com/2019/02/mercedes-benz-eqc-delayed-three-months-due-battery-production-issues/ On top of this MB has anounced that their US Production plant will now supply their North America EV's with batteries further delaying their release due to the added weight of the auto's in shipment. Also for Asia, they just started a battery production plant as China cannot come online fast enough. https://insideevs.com/news/386148/mercedes-benz-battery-production-phev/ Clearly MB can build the auto, getting the battery packs to power said EVs is going to take another year and the focus is Europe and China over the rest of the world. MB will not be done with the US plant expansion till next summer then training, bringing everything online, your looking at 2021 selling models at 2022 at the earliest with reality that they will have EV options in 2023 sitting on the lots for consideration. about the same time that Cadillac, Lincoln, and many other OEMs have stated they will have choices too. End result is MB is Following everyone else, NOT Leading them. F1 EV racing also is nothing special for MB as they will use the same set platform as everyone else, so it comes down to the drivers skill. Again NOT MB Technology.1 point

you wouldn't believe the Murano lease deals around here recently. A Murano S almost the cheapest lease lately. If you're buying of course its a different story. Nice review writeup on the Sentra, Robert. I think the 2020 or is it 2021 Sentra is a nice improvement. THis current version is not bad but i would definitely wait for the new version of Sentra over both the Versa and current Sentra. It would be one of those deals where depending on lease incentives a current month the new Sentra and now current Altima could be darn close to each other OTD payment wise. The Altima with AWD i think opens up a new market for Nissan to keep sales of sedans going in its showrooms..... The Kicks is a nice ride also, but I want to see what the new Trailblazer looks like before anything in that segment now. I still would spend money in a Nissan before a Hyundai or Toyota I think myself.1 point

there is getting to be quite of few of these with dealer plates on them (just sold) driving around here now, I am sure Hyundai has opened the deals and credit tap on these things. And then Chevy has the 50,000 dollar Blazer, and I don't see very many of them.1 point

So that is how the rumour started? From a stupid Motor Trend article? Motor Trend was never a highly reliable source of facts on automobiles and the like, but it has become quite the tabloid media as of late... The dyno test of the C8 last month should gives us a clue as to what drivel comes out of that rag tag mag.1 point

• Of course you would. • Turbos aren't a high dollar advancement. My son's Sonic has a turbo, in fact all 3 Chevys here are turbocharged. Chevy's been building turbocharged vehicles since 1962. • How the hell could they lose money at $90K?? Are they stuffing $50K in the glovebox?1 point

"B-but a Motor Trend article said a senior GM employee said they originally wanted the Corvette to start at $80K, so anything under that has to mean they're losing money."1 point

Again, your wrong on Cadillac. I consider it a top status brand and much better than the plastic crap the brand you think is best MB. Plenty of People do not think much of the Lease 99% of the time German brands.I find so much dumped CPO that is at low prices that they ship them out of state because there is so much. I question just how much profit your love fest of MB really has when you see the amount of CHURN that brand has. Small volume high profit can provide much in changing a brand to the next future way of doing business. Mary clearly is seeing a different world view than you see.1 point

Interesting how the air intake tubes at the front are asymmetrical and length and location. Strange. Everything is so tightly packed in there looks like a maintenance nightmare.1 point

Good looking CUV inside and out. 20 MPG is worse than my 308-hp V6 Colorado.1 point

Going to state this again, because I believe the narrative should be set straight. People LOVE to postulate that GM is losing money on everything. This 'under $80K = loss' theory is conjecture based on the fact that GM originally targeted the price of the C8 to be $80K. Who in their right mind would think GM would intentionally set a price to make no profit on a Corvette? Think about it. Now, while it's possible that GM loses money at $60K, we don't know that for sure and we have no idea, if so, the dollar amount per car.1 point

I honestly do not know what I want to own next. There is literally NOTHING out there that excites me. Especially when my current car...*sigh*...I hate mentioning it...a 2012 Acura TL SH-AWD is still a pretty good ride for me. Nothing entices me in any brand to part ways with my car. I do not want a CUV. I want a sedan. Sedans are leaving us. I HATE my car's successor from Acura, the TLX. I do like the Buick Regal sportsback or whatever its called. It too will die. But like I said, the Regal does not entice me enough to trade in my current car. I LOVE being car payment free. A Tesla Model 3? Nah...Ill wait out the EV trend until later. When more choices are out there. Although the Mach-E seems cool. But no thanx. A Cadillac CT5? I like. I like a lot. But Id have to buy a CT5 that is fits my mental budget allowance for a car. I dont want to spend MORE that 50 000 CDN including taxes on a car. I think a CT5 could fit that budget. But it also depends what powertrain that includes at that price... But then again, its a Cadillac. I do not see myself as a Cadillac type of a guy. But there is no more Oldsmobile, so Cadillac should do...but...I like being car payment free... Im keeping my car for another 5 years at least. And in 5 years, who knows what will be offered? Unless of course my car suffers from catastrophic failure, and I hope that does NOT happen as Im not really excited by anything as of now.1 point

You contradicted yourself... in the same post...trying to say something negative about EVs... Which is it? Are fanbois and fanatics and the thing they desire emotional? Or Cult-like behaviour is lacking in emotion especially when EVs are concerned and their cult following Tesla and Elon their saviour Musk and having those cult followers drag race their Teslas? PS: I see Dodge fanbois and Dodge Motor Company not giving a shyte about ludicrous mode....its mostly rabid Tesla fanbois that foam around the mouth when it comes to the Hellcat, (these Tesla fanbois ARE excited about their EVs)... The thing is, I see Porsche the Motor Company though, trying to measure up their Taycan to the Model S... That in itself speaks VOLUMES about emotion...negating this part of your post...1 point

I know what you are saying. And I feel your pain. Im a car guy too after all. And an American car guy on top of that. But...lets be honest about this whole car culture thing. In reality, cars are meant to be driven (hard). Cars are meant to be used and abused until that car can no longer give anymore and it ends up in the scrap heap. We as enthusiasts dont like the term appliance and we as enthusiasts are able to sense which cars are really engineered as appliances and which cars are "special" but in reality, ALL cars are appliances. Even Corvettes and Porsches. And Ferraris. On the opposite spectrum of this. When people buy "non-appliance" cars, such as Ferraris and that 1 of 704 Eldorado Broughams, and store them to be garage queens never to see the road ever is not a good thing either. Like I said, cars are meant to be driven. (Not that you are saying otherwise...) It takes (a lot of) money and/or time to restore these things. Time is money even if you are a mechanic and a machinist... so I could understand why cars like these end up being barn finds... (and Im not saying that you dont understand this either...Im just stating the obvious and just doing my part in communicating and enjoying the conversations we have in here) If I had a second chance at another career choice (I own a very successful hot dog and hamburger restaurant), Id wanna live in the US in one of those sunny and warm States...and Id learn to be a mechanic and machinist and yeah, Id restore old relics like that (on my own time and them sell them at auctions and stuff). But first, to move to the States, Id join the US Air Force and fly around....make Uncle Sam give me my wings, Make Uncle Sam teach me mechanics and machinery, then maybe possibly be a commercial airline pilot and hot rodder...1 point

Cadillac doesn't have to beat out everyone, but they aren't a top status symbol brand, they don't have a great image. If Cadillac puts out a car that matches specs with the Tesla in every way shape and form and costs exactly the same, the Tesla will outsell it easily on name alone. GM doesn't break out brand profits so we don't know how profitable any of the brands are. I would assume that all make profit, but we don't know how much.1 point

No change in size. Same configuration: crew cab / 6.5’ bed. I’m fine with going with a 1500. I’ll look at all 3 of the Big Dogs, tho Dodge is a distant 3rd. A Silverado 1500 w/ the 3.0TD would be my first wish. No ‘safety package’, which so far is an extra-cost option (TY, GM).1 point

Supposed to be a heat wave today... up to 40. Was a bit sunny earlier, but cloudy now. Just a bit envious of my sister, she's starting a new 3 month gig in January in West Palm Beach. No polar vortex down there.1 point

Finally, some good news out of Cadillac. The current batch of alphanumeric names is probably the worst in the business now that Lincoln abandoned theirs. EV is the future, BEV or otherwise. Our household is on our second EV, and next year we'll get our third. We're never going back to ICE.1 point

I've seen at least three Blazers on the road so far. Caught a view of my first XT6 on the road yesterday, looked a little like a cheap copy of an XC90.0 points

Right it is an Accord V6 with 2 turbos and a hybrid system, it can’t cost $150k to make so they should sell it for less money-1 points
