  1. The hilariously inept Newsom has provided plenty of material with this one. The meme-makers are really making hay! Chevy's new California-Compliant transportation alternative!

  2. These are a truly beautiful day to day ride, size, and luxury. But: 1) Do not do the 21", etc. wheels. Adds an odd noise, etc. that isn't needed, and roughness vs. the others. Still rides well, but too big (on anything) doesn't work ideally, ever. 2) Highest Inscription, etc. models are not sellers. For good reason. This in the $55-70k range is killer, and oozes luxury and refinement vs. something like a Cadillac Acadia aka XT-whatever. The seats...well...every other automaker should just make deals with Volvo to buy their seats, and skip the development costs. The best.

  3. While driving through my neighborhood I spotted a garage door open that I hadn't seen open before, with a pale green '54 Mercury and a black Lincoln MKS inside...

  4. So here we are California has an inadequate power grid in part because of global warming policies. I would have to look at the statistics but I believe California as a state has more drivers on the road than any place else in the nation. Can someone please explain to me how the solution is for billions of people to plug in something that needs at least 240 volts to charge halfway timely into a grid that can't handle turning on a 60w light??? Sincerely, Confused

  5. I can answer a few of these questions at the moment. 2: Strikes a good balance between comfort and firmness. Did a couple of hours behind the wheel and ran into no issues. 2.5: Did not find it to be really distracting, but I think this may a be a case by case thing. 3: Very good camera system, although I wished that it was easier to get to the 360-degree view when parking. 5: There is a power adjustment for this.

  6. @ocnblu is the best at this. He got the Avalanche too. 2017 Chrysler 300C, AWD, white with the linen interior. CarPlay, heated/ventilated seats, pano sunroof, adaptive cruise with lane keep assist. 18,700 miles for $24k

  8. Next up for an interactive review is the most expensive Volvo I have driven, the 2020 XC90 T8 Inscription - as-tested price of $86,790 with a $995.00 destination charge. Sadly, there is no kitchen sink to find, but this vehicle is loaded. It has four-corner air suspension, 21-inch wheels, a Bowers and Wilkins audio system, massaging front seats, heated steering whee, captain chairs for the second row with heat, panoramic sunroof, and 360-degree camera. Power comes from the T8 plug-in hybrid powertrain that I tried in the V60 Polestar a few weeks back. While not as potent as the Polestar, the XC90 still posts some impressive numbers of 400 horsepower and 472 pound-feet. Here are some initial impressions Despite the hefty pricetag, I don't get the feeling of luxury that the Inscription is supposed to bring. I have to wonder if its due to the black leather and dark wood trim being used. Did I mention that this comes with a crystal gearshift? Ride quality seems to be ok with the 21-inch wheels, but there is a fair amount of tire noise on rough pavement. I'll have more thoughts as the week goes on. In the meantime, if you have any questions, drop them below. View full article

  9. Talking to a customer yesterday- he used to have a ‘55 Merc. In his garage (which houses a plastic fantastic SL MB) there are 4 or 5 posters of different ‘55s.

  11. This video just continues to prove how much of a pig humans can be and how lazy they are to clean up after themselves. There is NO REASON to be this lazy and not teach your kids how to be respectful of the auto as well as clean up after themselves. I will hand it to the guy as he has some amazing talent for cleaning up as the end result is shocking on how clean and new like this auto has become. Thanks for posting as I always learn new little tricks for keeping my own auto's top notch.

  12. These were damn fine cars. I had a good friend, a fellow woodworker, who owned one for years. Ran over a quarter of a million miles pretty much trouble free. Chrysler does what Toyota can't, build genuinely appealing vehicles. Even the Minivan in this detailing video has a lot more charm than most modern Toyota products. My cats are inside much more., I want the regular Bronco, but this will be a good little 'ute!

  14. A lot of low-price cars in this era had cloth standard. Vinyl was an upgrade. Not sure about the Biscayne, but I got your wording that IF it had vinyl...

  16. • The I-6s were woefully weak, pre-'71 and post-'71. But the switch to lower compression didn't hurt them much- they already were very low compression, My dad had a '62 Biscayne I-6 / PowerGlide, he's always referred to it as "dangerously slow". • I believe circa '68 the 235 grew to 250 CI. • A/C is going to be uncommon on a Biscayne, even on FL. Hard to relate to today, but these really were (commonly) stripped, super price-conscience basic transports. • In '67, Chevy built 92K Biscaynes, and 54K were 6s (in the heat of muscle cars and 33 cents/gal gas).

  20. ^ Probably correct, tho I note it's also missing it's 'Chevrolet' grille script. Owner may have removed those emblems. Gonna go out on that limb and guess this has 8 slugs under the hood now.

  21. Well I think this one was likely born a six cylinder, due to the lack of a "V" with crossed flags fender emblem.

  22. Nice. Base model ... and a coupe. Thinking they still used the 283 V8 for this M.Y., or would it have been 307 and/or 327 ...

  23. LOL this is not a "crushed VELET" 1976 Buick, it's a Mopar product, spottable from a mile away. I'm guessing Albert's new ride = CHRYSLER 300

  25. That's not the Valiant pictured, on fire. Hood edge of burned car is dead straight, and the lower air intakes are much wider on the Valiant.

  27. It's been a while since I've been around. I was browsing through some active threads when I came across this one. After yesterday's announcement by California's idio, er I mean governor, it's more proof the guy is clueless. And seems to have an irrational hate for Ca and it's residents.

  28. NJ was off to a great start doing that. It wasn't just on new homes, but a lot of existing homes and businesses retrofitted solar panels. It's been a great success.

That was this August, imagine if they had additional load of thousands or millions EVs to charge. Their electric power infrastructure is lacking.
