  1. The whole thread was super helpful. My gas powered snow blower bit the dust years ago and I’ve just been shoveling manually since then. With the first 8” of snow on the ground here for the season, I said Eff this. I dug myself a path out, put the Avalanche in 4 low, and crawled to Lowe’s. I picked up the EGO snow blower. I also ended up ordering snow tires for the truck because I’m still rolling on the OEs and they are dry rotted. Even with tread they are awful in the white stuff. So now Gus will be getting new Blizzaks on Dec 27th.

  3. This is an interesting read in regards to our discussion about the 1% not paying their fair tax bill and clearly the 50 years of reviews of tax cuts for the Rich have not helped the rest of us be you middle income or poor. As @Drew Dowdell pointed out, we really need to remove all the holes and abuse tax write offs to balance out the tax system including capital gains tax which should always be at the persons tax rate. 50 years of tax cuts for the rich failed to trickle down, economics study says - CBS News

  4. I was on a conference call this morning--my client's CEO was doing a 'fireside chat' (literally at his house in Provo by the fireplace), and he was talking about how people would still be working mostly from home at least into Spring (they have a new office in Scottsdale but maybe 5-10% of the staff go in regularly), and someone asked if next year people would have to have the covid vaccine to work in the office...CEO said they are talking w/ their lawyers about whether they can make that a requirement, what with 'some people don't believe in vaccines' etc... Sounds like it's going to be an interesting year. Been talking to recruiters about some gigs here locally, since it seems after 6 1/2 years my current gig is winding down...

  6. Yes, but unlike some other electric mowers, these batteries can come out and be used for their other tools. Yes, the mower itself can be plugged in so you don't have to take them all out to charge.

  7. OUCH, Seems VW while talking big on EVs has failed to get their Dealer network in Germany alone trained on how to sell their EV and as such failing to move the ID.3 EV. The dealers point back to VW claiming it failed to give them enough notice, training and incentive to sell a low maintenance auto compared to an ICE auto. VW has said they have spent 7 figures alone in Germany on training. Guess the question is who reviewed and said the training was proper for getting the dealerships to sell EVs? Someone failed. Of the secret shopping, only 16% upon qualifying the potential buyer recommended the EV but 50% of the info they supplied was wrong. This low sale suggestion rate and high misinformation will hold VW back as it transitions to a total EV auto line. Part of the problem seems to be that VW is shooting themselves in the foot as they offer traditional incentives for selling an ICE auto where the dealership gets a kickback once the auto is sold and yet none are give for selling an EV. Right there is reason enough for a dealership to ignore selling an EV as they make more money on an ICE. VW needs to change and put the EV's on the incentive list. Study: German dealers refuse to sell ID.3 even as VW talks big on EVs - Electrek Could Toyota be shooting itself by the bad mouthing of EVs over hydrogen and Hybrids by their CEO? Seems Toyota's CEO is against Japans government putting in place a 2035 mandate of no new ICE auto sales in the country. Japan is focusing on going all EV new auto sales five years before China 2040 mandate. As such, Toyota according to various web sites seems to be bad mouthing EVs. The details seem to be best at Electrek so I posted the link below for you. I do wonder if Toyota could end up in the same position GM was a decade ago due to the resistance to embrace change. Toyota CEO shows lack of vision, spreads EV misinformation, and spells the end for the automaker - Electrek

  8. I'd love to drive around the streets near the wharves in South Philadelphia and see this. They need to amp up their restoration efforts of the S.S. United States, which holds the record for the fastest transatlantic crossing, at just under 4 days and averaging a little over 41 knots / hr.

  12. Honda Civics and Accords were among the most stolen vehicles for years because they were easier to chop up and sell the parts. Sadly, I am not surprised that some people insist on stealing a speedy car.

  14. @David, just like we were talking about the other day, EGO just dropped information on a battery powered zero turn. The best part about it, imo, the batteries can also be used in the hand tools! It holds up to 6 batteries, comes with 4. https://egopowerplus.com/worththewait

  16. I am more than content with the Ranger. I want something that will go off road, a Jeep or a motorcycle or something. How NOT to get a pig to market... Given Michigan roads, a Surplus US military Tank and or a Mercedees Unimog might be a better choice.

  18. For those of us that like the black out packages or RS/Sport trim over chrome, Chevrolet seems to be embracing it as Chevrolet has stated 1/3rd of all SUV/CUV sales where RS/Sport/Blackout versions are available sold and it is one of the hardest trims to keep on the lot. Chevrolet has announced as they refresh all SUV/CUV/Truck products, if the RS/Sport/Blackout editions are not part of that product line, they will be added. Chevy SUV buyers adore RS, Midnight packages, so there will be more - Roadshow (cnet.com) Ram 2021 TRX Hellcat production has started and the first one off the assembly line will be auctioned off for Charity. 20. About the only series I've watched lately is the British art show 'Fake or Fortune?'--where art experts evaluate paintings to see if they are real or forged.... Otherwise, been watching a lot of documentaries lately--mostly art and music docs...several Beatles and Rolling Stones documentaries, a couple Bob Dylan ones, Martin Scorsese's George Harrison documentary, Scorsese's 'The Last Waltz' concert film, making of album documentaries on Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side of the Moon' and 'The Wall', a Pearl Jam documentary from a few years ago...

  24. Would like to know myself, as I love my EGO mower. I am probably the only dude on the planet into Vitnage Alfas and mud trucks....but the Dodge at about the 4 minute mark just does it for me. Older square body Chevy's just getting it on at about the 1:10 mark just does it for me also.

  25. How do you like it so far, is it powerful enough? I was considering getting it but they were forecasting warmer than usual winter here ( so far doesn't look that way) and the last two winters we basically didn't see any snow here in NJ so I was reluctant to spend money on it.

  26. Given how Hyundai and Kia have taken over the SUV game, yes. Palisade and Talluride hottest SUV's right now, and the smaller SUV's they are selling like hotcakes. Yes, Balthazar, I know Ford sells more explorers....but ford has a lot of explorers sitting on dealer lots or ready to ship, Kia/Hyundai can't keep Palisade/Telluride in stock.

  27. But the Accountants will tell you that no one wants to PAY for it unless GM/Ford can charge MORE for common cars and CUVs! I also believe it to be a leadership and culture problem too.

  28. Yikes about the Charger. I guess a person can look at wherever they live and see the list of which cars in their area are likely to be stolen. How sad that this could guide someone's purchasing decision to some extent. I'm guessing mid-80s Cutlass Supreme coupes are no longer on that list. LOL. They certainly were at one time. Twelve year old kid? How time flies. Unbelievable.

  35. Other companies like Ford and GM are working on the lower priced market. Lucid can price their cars as high as they want, for that rich crowd that doesn't care so much about the median price. Also, considering that the median price keeps going up, it may be moot to harp on about EV prices right now anyway. As long as there are $30K three cylinder cars for sale (looking at you "top of the line" Trailblazer), I'm not going to split hairs over EV prices being what they are.

  36. While I still not crazy that they called Mach E a Mustang, it grows on me and it looks like it has good potential. Definitely looks more attractive than Model Y by far. I actually see me getting one as a daily in about 5 years.

  37. Would love a Charger, but they like to steal them around here... ? Just got the notice of 1 year left on the lease of my Equinox. Besides the annoying stop/start, it has been a great little CUV. Still quite low in the mileage though! I’m thinking of buying it after the lease anyways for two reasons: 1- the buyout is pretty low, thanks to an extra discount, and being a lower trim level (LS) 2- I have a 12 year old who will be driving not too far down the road, and it won’t hurt to have an extra car around to drive. Who knows, maybe it ends up as his car.... ?

  38. Listened to the Wheel Bearings podcast today, they had a discussion about the Mach E and an interview w/ the Ford exec that oversaw it...sounds like it has the potential to be a very good product...one thing they stressed is they can't afford a botched launch and quality gaffes like the Explorer has had...

  39. The Mustang Mach E does exactly what it should be doing. 1. Its creates a buzz by being called a Mustang. This way its NOT just another crossover SUV that looks like 90% of every single crossover sold. Love or hate the name...true Mustang or not...it gets people talking about it. 2. And it doesnt disappoint. Well...like the video suggests, if you get hung up on names, you will have a hard time living...but if you see this EV like you should be seeing it, its a great vehicle not only as a real first attempt from the ground up EV from Ford, but a great EV PERIOD! And that is comparing it DIRECTLY with the best of the best of EVs: TESLA EVs! What I dont get from GM and FoMoCo How is it that when they want to bring out a great vehicle, engineer it top notch and produce it flawlessly they do (Corvette C8, Ford GT, Ford F150, Cadillac Escalade) but they also CONSTANTLY phone in things and half ass them... Why cant they just ALWAYS DO Corvette C8s and Mustang Mach Es? (not the vehicles themselves, but the QUALITY of work behind these machines)
