  1. You will be left in the past where old tech stays and dies and forgotten about as the rest of society move forward. Enjoy the dirt nap of ICE obsolescence!

  3. Upgrade on the cam is about it. Machining & new pistons will reduce compression (rated at 10.5:1), cam will need to offset that. The trans is still a question- the stock one is of unknown condition, not sure if I will go thru changing over to a TH400. Gearing is fine. I'm approaching this as a 'survivor' car since it's so original, besides; the Invicta will eat any GP cosmetic money right up. I'm way past the point of no return there, so the only way is 'forward'. A pic/vid shoot would be awesome. Of course- I will keep the status posted here.

  4. Hadn't thought of Def Leppard in decades, just stumbled over them again this month. I wasn't huge on them back in the day, but digging them now. They were so huge back in the day. This one has some fantastic bones; man would I love to see a supercharged cover of it. I love the chorus, there could be a bunch more of it:

  6. Who in their right mind buys these shytty things anyway? I dont care actually. Not my cup of tea. I feel bad for those peeps that have no other choice in life but to buy this thing... Maybe we should start a GOFUNDME page for these people in need of better life options.

  8. Surreal, stop with the jealousy. Just because I shot Statue with a zinger this time, doesn't mean I don't have more for you. Stay tuned! Well I would drag you by the hair, but

  9. Oh you are just dripping with irony and hypocrisy here. And why are you trying to drag me into your personal beef with David? My downvote was 100% legit for the reason mentioned above. Get over yourself.

  11. Going to have to disagree on the simple fact that the Bolt has no AWD option. A missed opportunity by GM.

  15. as if there’s any comparison by the rogue sport to the road presence of any full size Oldsmobile. Hell, even the soap bar shaped 91 Custom Cruiser in white would command more respect on the road. but have fun with your Sentra hatchback 4WD

  16. So we have generational listing as follows: Snowflake generation - 2011-2020 Generation Z - 1996-2010 Millennials - 1977-1995 Generation X - 1965-1976 Baby Boomers - 1946-1964 Silent Generation - 1925-1945 G.I. Generation - 1900-1924 Pretty much a portion of Millennials, most of Gen Z and Snowflake Gen care less about auto's and unlike the Gen X and Baby Boomers who did get involved in auto shop, auto clubs, etc. we do not have the interest or passion from folks born from mid 90's to now which will increase the quick recycling of auto's moving society into an EV world far faster than many realize. Both of my kids and many kids their age in the mid 30's would rather have their trucks / SUVs in EV form than deal with all the liquids and other maintenance of an ICE auto. I do expect ICE to take a dirt nap in my kids lifetime!

  17. There’s STILL Model T clubs across the country doing road trips- with 275 million IC vehicles in the US alone, it will never “dirt nap” in your KID’S lifetime. Sorry.

  18. I'll give it credit.... now that they'll be selling in these handy 8-packs, it will probably do pretty well. Rogue

  21. I'm pretty powertrain agnostic, but the Nissan 4-cylinder is pretty far down on the heap of 4-cylinders in terms of being a good engine. There are plenty of powertrains, gas, hybrid, diesel, EV, that will be superior to it in every way. But being powertrain agnostic, I can still comment on its appearance.... which is bleh. Just like I think Teslas look bleh.

  23. I would want that Tesla powertrain in a ‘68-‘72 Olds Cutlass with 4-4-2 body work. What is very intriguing is what GM did with the HUMMER EV powertrain. Maybe...THAT powertrain would be the bomb in my Olds 442 EV. Keeping it all GM is alls Im sayin’. While possibly slapping Tesla butt at the same time.

  24. So I've yet to drive the 2.7T in the CT4, but that doesn't sound like an engine issue, but rather a mounting issue. I know a number of the guys at Motor1 and to say they're excitable over minor things is an understatement, though I don't know Brandon specifically. I am near certain that the 2.7 gets active motor mounts. I don't know if there is a "boot up" process for them or what, but that could explain some of the scenario he describes. That said, these days there is really no such thing as a "truck engine" unless you're talking a big diesel. There are car engines that aren't appropriate for trucks due to the shape of their torque curve, but usually not the other way around. Pretty much any and all roughness can be dialed out with the use of balance shafts and active motor mounts.

  25. Same that I will never own a Tesla. But if they could put the power train into a CT6, I am soooo there.

  28. Okay....too many random thoughts for today but...not meaning to be political however...funeral train for George HW Bush....Cool to honor a US president this way, regardless of your poltical views. Locomotive 4141 with the Union Pacific has been permanantly painted in his honor.

  29. How? You are claiming that a CVT is somehow superior to the single speed one (because electric motors don’t need multiple pseudo gears unlike an ICE) in your average EV and I gave my response. I’m thinking it may be past med check for you if you don’t understand that simple concept.

  30. With all said and done Its yet another shytty CUV of the lowest common denominator that sucks the soul out of exciting vehicle ownership

  31. Its too bad that this Rogue is not offered with electric motors and batteries. Now it has to rely on its honest to goodness...shytty looks and crappy CVT transmission that Nissan seems to have mucho problems with.

  33. Thanks dearheart. But I am not sure I really want one until I see it in the metal. When I read that a 2.0t Escape got 32 MPG on MT's fuel economy run it intrigued me. Also I was trying to flesh out the forum, in an appropriate section, with some new product news. So you're saying that is verboten? What if a newbie Nissan fan comes in and sees this thread now? What would their opinion be?

  36. Then crawl your sorry ass on out then because you are just continuing to prove me right by going on and on about it while harping on others to NOT to do that same thing. And the only thing you are crawling around, at this point, is the drain. Don’t forget to flush.

  37. Yeah...I thought of that last night... I watched that part again and again and it does not make any sense. But that is what they said. Maybe the way they said it and I mis-misunderstood.... This is when they said it. The video is time stamped. I listened to it again. THAT is what they clearly say... It does not make any sense. Please explain it to me in better English than they did. LOL

  38. Just mentioning a political figure now has become...political talk? With a false insinuation of which way one leans politically? WTF happened to ya'll? No need to answer that. Rhetorical it was. But I understand that it WILL lead to political talk... So phoquing sad that it has come to this though... (Let it be MY random thought that I thought out loud...)
