  2. I only had a dog as a teen, providing 12 years of joy through college and entering the workforce. She was 35 pound, natural dock tailed, blue merle Australian Shepherd. (This is obviously a faded photo.) She far exceeded what I could have hoped for in being a smart, fun, and loyal pet. Is it any wonder I'm stuck on the idea of getting a Miniature Australian Shepherd? Also, there is no dog versus cat scenario for me. I prefer a dog but there are a fair number of cats with great personalities out there.

  3. We just got an Envision (2021), picked it up on Saturday. Came from a 2018 CX-5. The envision is quicker, more responsive, rides a LOT smoother (even with the 20" wheels)...although the inside feels a tad bit cramped for a with this its exterior dimensions.

  5. What Warren Buffett* says is a major key to success ... (2 t's, as he is not AYCE) I was surprised to see this, but it makes perfect sense: the ability to say NO. Just think how much more time and money most of us might have saved had we done more of this.

  8. I much prefer French Toast over waffles. Pancakes a close second. And Quebec lends itself to look like French bread dipped into egg batter perfectly... With gobs and gobs of Quebec maple syrup and butter. With a sunny side up egg on top and bacon and ham. Breakfast of Champions Id say!

  10. We can only wonder whatever became of the likes of King Harvest and even the Silver Convention, seen here ... I randomly thought of this song when I was in a cool bird sanctuary venue, complete with a few alligators, along the Gulf last month. Their thrusting motions with their elbows during their routine are odd and/or dated. Ulterior motive?

  22. IMO, Pontiac's full-sizers were on the downside of their peak after '66, tho there are still ones I definitely like. Like this '68 Catalina; it really makes the painted bumpers work here:

  24. if i could just figure out how to make this brown, and put a diesel hybrid AWD powertrain in it with manual transmission, add some cladding, jack it up, add some arbitrary swoopy windows and fender flares, and then we'd have the ultimate category killer, AWD diesel hybrid manual crossover coupe minivan.

  32. It would. It has an identifiable enough shape for a waffle! Interestingly enough, Michigan's UP, on its own, is a big time logo. Everywhere you go when there, you see the outline of just the UP ... on t-shirts, coffee mugs, billboards, etc. etc. As for the "Four Corners" states, not so much ...

  35. Could Jaguar be on Deaths Door? Jaguar Land Rover just killed their MLA platform that the new All Electric XJ sedan was supposed to be on and is having to pay European auto commission $35 million for not meeting their 2020 required emissions target. As such, the MLA platform death will cost Jaguar a $1.4 Billion Euro write off. Jaguar will move forward with their EMA pure electric platform and give up on ICE and Hybrid. They also mention looking for a partner to help expand Jaguar as all products that were going to be built on the MLA platform by 2025 are now dead. Land Rover will move forward with Hybrid / EV built off the MLA platform. Honestly after reading this story, I question what the hell the executives are doing at JLR as there seems to be more politics and wasting of billions than a passion for building auto's. 39. "can’t match in terms of solidity and precision" "doesn't handle with much verve" "feels almost reluctant when pressed" "feels lighter on its feet" I just don't know what anyone is supposed to do with these statements. Buick's aren't marketed to folk who on rare occasions like to "make quick work out of erasing mildly banked 90 degree turns", so while C&D's criteria is running a mommy-mobile around a road course, I question the relevance of such.

  40. What's your most feared driver stereotype? I don't mean just people who annoy you on the road, I mean people you avoid because you think they'll do damage to you or your vehicle. For me, it is women of a certain age in mini-vans. The typical subject is about 104 lbs, has the seat pushed as far forward as possible, wears giant Jackie O sunglasses, and is an assistant manager somewhere. She only has two modes of driving; slow and erratic in the left lane while arguing on the phone or Michael Schumacher with a bad case of diarrhea and searching an unfamiliar place for a toilet. So how about it? Who out there makes you fear driving?
