  1. I would allow enough rope so that it wouldn't hit the rear of the SUV. At least I think... Attached is a diagram.
  2. Yeah I was starting to think that way too... But could it really hurt it?
  3. If you ask me why I come up with bone-headed ideas don't ask me why or where they come from... Last spring when I still had extra cash before another new Pontiac, new kitchen gadgets for the wife, and a son heading into college I looked into having our home professionally landscaped. Yeah well the two men father and son biz I had doing it had a slight problem the father fell off his roof and isn't doing so hot so now I am stuck landscaping. I have decent sized large front shrubs that need to go... The folks that were going to help landscape had a 2006 Silverado 2500HD with a Duramax and were going to "tow out the shrubs". Well I have got thinking and a hitch needs to go on my Torrent anyways, what would happen or could I tow them out with the Pontiac instead? I know it will tow 3500lbs with the proper hitch, would it do it? Would it hurt it? Or am I just to crazy to try and save a buck. I still need new garage doors, a GPS and my son needs a new notebook for school so anywhere I can save I will... I know this is a total redneck idea I can see it posted on youtube, idot Iowan with a small SUV attempts to tow out his shrubs... So could I? Should I? Or just forget it...
  4. GM will be pissed but its makes gm4life happy to see these pics...
  5. Stick it to the evnviormentalists all over the world in there Prius's, am still feeding 3 large American cars with V6's. Bastards.
  6. Choices are always good. So where will the EP-II Malibu be built?
  7. O.C. I have been in a Yaris and to me its seens so much cheaper than the Cobalt.
  8. Whatever helps sell cars of Cafe req. I would get a GT with V8 maybe a regular stripper V6.
  9. Sorry to hear. Leave it to an import driver. I hope everything is okay.
  10. A substantial MCE is necessary if this thing is sticking around until 2012. ^ I totally agree... But uh the Chevrolet should have no problem riding into 2010 after that I don't know. But a MCE would be a very good idea. It really does what it should a low price and large size family sedan for not much money. Listen I own my Impala not nearly as fun to drive as my Bonneville nor in the same customer demographic but at least it doesn't have a constantly failing intermediate steering shaft with the creaking noise! (Uhhh my only complaint.) But without a doubt I will keep mine and drive it to the grave. My son drives it now has a slight love-mark up front from a snow-bank (not real bad) but she keeps on going and gets decent fuel economy something that can't be said for the SLE nor Torrent. My brother got an Impala LTZ over a Malibu and they just love it, and I liked the 'Bu more two class leading no doubt but there not in the same class Impala is for traditionally ol' school GM buyers, the Malibu is for more progressive buyers aka import owners. I see no problem with two cars being out. Give the Malibu Flex Fuel and give the Impala a 3.6L as well.
  11. Practical Performance.
  12. The new Camaro should be on all accounts a blow out hit.
  13. The G-Series is an impressive line of cars, always ways and still is.
  14. Venting is good. But seriously I agree Carbiz again I decided back when I was in college never to buy a forigen car. Never have, hopefully never will and if that day comes it will be a Honda or Nissan. Toyota products don't appeal to me nor does the styling... 66 Stang a little venting/pissing never hurt, this is a GM forum after-all and no were not in trouble.
  15. I like the front way better than the 'Balt... And uh great car welcome to the kidney club, you are one of the special few. Get some nice GM Acc. Wheels for it now, the tacky hubs do have to go.
  16. 1976 Pontiac Bonneville 4dr Hardtop? Just a guess...
  17. Sorry to sound dumb but what is AMP?
  18. The more they strike the worse off they are. GM holds all the cards.
  19. Chevy sells really well in my area along with Toyota. (really not that good compared to Chevy) The Pontiac, Nissan, BMW dealer in my town used to five years ago almost be full of Pontiac's now they have barely 20. Going from 65 or 70 to 20 in just six or seven years is scary. But I doubt they will take Pontiac away from them. The closest other dealer that sells Poncho in my dealer Tills south of DBQ in Bellevue although I haven't bought any cars there since my Impala. Tills is a small town family owned dealership with Chev, Buick, and Pontiac they used to have Olds. (I got killer deals on my last two cars or I wouldn't have gotten them... Wife is a hard sell...) My dealers in my area... Buick, Cadillac, Honda, GMC Truck - Richardsons - Dubuque, IA - (went there for years for service when I didn't drive to Tills 20 miles away, lost the good serivce dept.) **my dad got his two Caddy's there** Chevrolet - Bird - Dubuque, IA - (nice size Chev dealer lots of people that support the private schools in town buy there, all there kids graduated/go to private schools along with my kids) **When I went there to get an Impala they didn't wanna sell me the car I wanted so I walked...** Nothing against them but I know people who worship Bird Chevrolet. Chevrolet, Buick - Runde - East Dubuque, IL - (huge dealer with at least 5 Corvettes at a time and over 400 new trucks!, my brother got his Impala LTZ there) Toyota, Scion, Lincoln, Mercury - Andersen Weber - Dubuque, IA - (closet to my house ironically, they snooker old folks to trade Sables in for Camry's those bastards...) **Never bought a car there my son goes to highschool with there son (a year younger), my son always say carry better cars and we might get one from you!** Pontiac, BMW, Nissan - Kruse-Watherm - Dubuque, IA - (the one I talked about perviously) Ford, Kia, Jeep, Chrysler - Mike Finnin - Dubuque, IA - (not a very big Ford dealer but huge Chrysler/Jeep selection... and lots of nice used cars!) Ford - Victory - Dyersville, IA - (huge lots of trucks 20 miles west of Dubuque) Dodge - Turpin - Dubuque, IA - (good-sized Dodge dealer) Dodge - Tauke - Dyersville, IA - (small Dodge dealer) Hyundai - Cal-Cars - Dubuque, IA - (keeps getting bigger) Buick, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Pontiac, Dodge, Chrylser, Jeep - Brad Deery - Maquoketa, IA - (lots of trucks and used cars got my Bonneville here...) GMC Truck, Lincoln, Mercury - Rotman Motors - Maquoketa, IA - (small dealer) Ford - Herb Green - Cascade, IA - (small dealer) **my wifes side of the family gets Ford here also the town my wife grew up in** Cherolet, Buick, Pontiac - Bellevue, IA - (small dealer, I have been getting my cars serviced here into the mid 90's then went to Richardsons and came back in 2001 when I got my Impala there... When I got my SLE I took it to Deery until the Warrenty was up, my dad got over 4 cars there I have gotten two, the only dealer I go for service now is here) Mistu, Subaru, Mazda - Rileys - Dubuque, IA - (used to carry Olds, lots of old Old's people in Subies...) That is about it in my area, there are more I missed but these are the ones I actually drive by sometimes and some more than others... **I hope I never see Tills close like you have seen your small town BPG close it would be real sad for me, and they play a vital role in the small town community.** I hope GMC Truck Guy that doesn't stop you from buying fine GM products...
  20. Yeah I would suggest not getting rid of either you love them so much... Get a bike seriously, or a small Cavailer/Cobalt/Neon type car... Just don't get a Prius, you don't strike me as a Prius driver... Nothing has changed in my house really we don't make special trips, I told my son to drive like an egg is under the accelerator (yeah he learned way to much from me) although seriously I am trying to get the Torrent close to 20mpg in my hilly down it isn't easy, same goes for the wife in the SLE. As for the Impala my son gets about 21ish with his lead foot... But we all are trying to be more cautious and not flog 'em like we used to do almost daily. (My cars used to have no cobs!)
  21. Three people in my 'hood got new 2007-2008 Silverado's in the past week. Not to mention one of those owners also get a new Suburban LTZ... I have been happy with the choices neighbors have been making lately and there is only two new Camry's in the area by far more new Impala's.
  22. To me, the Prius wierd interior and wierd exterior (neither that caused any problems....but didn't make me proud to drive it either) and the somewhat jerkiness of the drivetrain made me more convinced that Hybrids are not for me. If we were talking mileage in the 50's- to 60's....in REALISTIC driving conditions......then I might rethink my assessment.... I can understand why Prius drivers are such dolts. It takes a very unique mindset to actually buy and live with one of these things........ ^ No I totally agree with the OC on this... Also aside of the fact I don't care what people spend there money on although I prefer it is a domestic car or truck by far. If they go import I say go Honda or possibly Nissan. Never have nor will I suggest a Toyota it is there mindset of taking over the world and building over-rated products that don't appeal to me that really put me off. Aside of that if I am sending my money to Japan INC. I would rather it be to Honda or Nissan (if) I had too.
