  1. I have my own stories about FCA... It starts like this In the year 2021...it is Judgement Day for FCA...blah blah blah...bankrupt....blah blah blah...Jeep sold to the highest bidder....blah blah blah...its a bloody shame...many storied names gone because of one carpet bagging, snake oil salesman buffoon...
  2. We have shopping mall boutiques too. And yes, the Montreal flag ship store is nice. To be fair though, that dealership that Tesla took over housed Chrysler. This is that dealership under Sergio... During the 1 million dollar renovations The dealership under Elon... This was what Tesla had as their flagship store in the Montreal region before this one. In the suburb of Laval
  3. Montreal's Tesla store is biggest in North America...but it will lose that title, or maybe it did already to San Francisco. They cater well to their customers knowing which customer base will flourish the most. If the acceptance of Tesla is so-so in certain markets...I am not surprised to learn that the Tesla stores in that area are so-so as well... I am surprised however that Seattle does not get a lavish store like San Francisco or Montreal...
  4. If we are honest about it...and auto journalists rarely are... both generations of the tweener CTS did quite well in the market place regarding sales and acceptance of Cadillac joining the ranks of the sport sedan luxury crowd despite a lacking of a up to par interior vis-à-vis its peers. And that was probably its only weakness. Auto journalists and magazines usually review cars based on who pays their salary, if you know what I mean...Both tweener CTS' were great performance cars, especially in V trim. Much like today. Auto journalists, when not favorably comparing them to the Germans was really bullshyting us... It would be a tad different now as the 3 Series AND the M-B C Class grew in size to be somewhat where the tweener CTS' were...albeit the BMW 3 Series just a tad smaller than the tweener CTS'. But the C Class is just about the tweener CTS' size. Well...not quite like that. The ATS and CTS will be just one car...the CT5. A tweener probably like how the 1st and 2nd gen CTS was. An Audi A3 fighter (smaller in segment size to the ATS and Audi A4) will be the other sedan lower in price and smaller than the CT5 (and smaller than the ATS if you did not quite catch the hints) A bigger and costlier sedan than the CT5 called the CT6 remains the same and the 3rd sedan that is talked about... And no word on a CT8 so nobody knows what to expect for that...but a CT8 plan was mothballed by Johan and with him not saying a word about it now and ONLY saying that there will be 3 sedans in Cadillac's portfolio and all 3 sedans were explained what they were, one could safely ascertain that a CT8 is not in the cards for the immediate future...maybe in another 10-15 years...again...

  6. Im excited for the CT5 and Im curious to see what size it will be... Wait a second!!! Wrong thread....I thought this one was the Cadillac thread... SARCASM POINTING TO THE OBVIOUS THAT THE REAL CADILLAC THREAD HAS
  7. As I understood it: Car to do battle with Audi A3 (no mention of name...we are all assuming it will be called the CT4) $35,000 - $45,000 bracket to be called CT5 which replaces the ATS and the CTS (Im guessing tweener again exactly how 1st and 2nd generation CTS was...) $45,000 and up to be called CT6 with a plethora of engine options. (XTS and this type up old fogey stigma FINALLY dies and the CT6 FINALLY takes over and the old fogeys could buy the CT6 with the less powerful engine option with the less sporty suspension package or a ΧΤ5 οr the Escalade ESV if they want to!!!) No mention of a CT8 top dog...so where does that leave the Escala concept? Does it morph into the top dog CT6 and we call it the day and just sell crossovers? XT4 crossover launched in 2018. Many other crossovers to come...
  8. Is the CT8 a go? I understood there will ONLY be a CT5 and a CT6 along with an Audi A3 fighter which is the CT4.
  9. Easy peasy cleaning that dash and the whole interior actually. The toothbrush detailing is kept to an absolute minimum. THAT....would be a good thing! I never did like a car with no instruments directly in front of the driver like a certain Toyota model whose name escapes me right now (and the Saturn whose name also escapes me...<ION?>) If Im to buy this in the near future...I dont know if that would be a deal breaker for me...but I dont really look at the speedometer all too often anyway. BUT...it is intuitive for the speedometer to be directly in front of the driver only because for the last 100 years it has been like that...and THAT is how I like it.... What I also may not like is the iPad thingy controlling all controls. Im not used to that. My partner says...because he has the Model S that one gets used to that very quickly as it does not glitch... As for the interior being spartan, I welcome the wide open spaces with no cluttered and claustrophobic center consoles stealing space from your feet, legs, arms and even shoulders sometimes. My 2012 Acura TL center console area from the infotainment screen area all the way to the arm rest limits my space and Im only 5'6 and a half tall... Its not as cumbersome as some cars, but it is borderline claustrophobic... I like the simplistic approach. This plays on the exterior too. It has a nice slippery silhouette, which I happen to like, but Ill admit...it aint the sexiest. It works for me but I could see if someone finds it weird looking or downright ugly. I like the way the headlights and taillights look. They do have a slight upscale feel to them, which admittedly, are the only two things that appear to be upscale. The rest does look like an entry level car and at 35 thousand...its kinda cheap looking. I dont mind that at all though! The trunk does look wide enough to swallow most family hauling needs, but if it had a hatch like its bigger brother Model S, it would have been better off to attract the other buyers other than the early adapters Tesla fanatics 4-5-6 years down the road ...especially when the world has gone crossover crazy that DEMAND those types of qualities in their rides and sedan sales are falling fast... Id go for the bigger batter with 310 mile range. That would be pushing the cost to about 44 thousand US. The MT car is said to be about 59 thousand. My budget when the 2012 Acura is gone will still be maximum 52 000 CDN. In about 5-6 years from now. Oh yes...Im gonna keep the TL that long, if not longer. So I have a looong way to go still and maybe by then, I wont like the Model 3 anymore and another EV from another automobile manufacturer will seduce me and steal my heart!
  10. This is gonna be waaaay out of my comfort zone. Muscle cars need not apply. Maybe one... These vehicles will be vehicles that I would enjoy and do actually like. First 3-New 2017 cars you would buy, less than 50 grand... 1. 2018 Subaru WRX STi 2. 2017 Fiat 124 Abarth 3. 2018 VW Golf R Next 3-New 2017 cars you would buy, 50 grand to 125 grand... 4. 2017 Cadillac Escalade ESV 5. 2017 BMW M2 6. 2018 Lexus LC500 Next 3-used cars you would buy, any market any era, just must be street legal. 7. 1992-1995 Euro Spec E34 BMW M5 inline 3.8 The other three tomorrow!
  11. Cool idea! Ive got my son' s baseball game to go to. He is a call-up for the older kids as they are missing a player and he is not too bad of a ball player... Im going as a dad, not as an assistant coach! Anyhoo, Ill do this later. I was marinating a couple of ideas, entertaining the thought of going outside my usual as per your request. Ill come up with something!
  12. When I was a young lad, I was fascinated with Rolls Royces. Not because I thought Rolls Royces were great, but because they were and still are regarded as the royalty of the automotive world. I had time to think about it though all these years... I was in awe with them ONLY because I thought I had to be in awe due to the environment around me FORCING me to be in awe. Why I say that? At the same time, I was also in awe, but with my own interests....these cars.... Which is the opposite of the royalty that my surroundings told me to respect . The thing is...back then, CADILLAC was still CADILLAC and CADILLAC was also a brand that the filthy rich bought and drove and this CADILLAC had me dreaming of owning my piece of the American Pie Dream of being an arrogant rich guy. Where am I going with this? Well....I always respected a Rolls Royce, but I was always not inspired by Rolls Royce either... Rolls Royce was forced upon me by our society so I kinda had to like it, but I always thought it to be a tad boring, bland, uptight. I was always a rock-n-rolla. A rebel. A party animal. Even Cadillacs were not my style....depending what Cadillac... An in your face, a middle finger to the status quo Eldorado was my thing. (I guess the Escalade fits that perfectly today) This recent Rolls Royce looking like the last Rolls Royce makes me go back to the 1970s when I was a young lad wishing them Duke Boys and The Bandit were still alive giving the middle finger to authority telling anybody that wants to control us to phoque off!!!! I dont why why I feel this way looking at this new Rolls, but I feel this way. Something about authority of an oligarch, status quo...I dont know... I also wished Cadillac was the Standard of the World like it was back in the day! Cadillac knew style!
  13. Not starting too.... Pulled ahead of Boeing at least a decade ago... About 15 or so years ago, Airbus caught up to Boeing and did not take long after that to surpass Boeing. It has been a cat and mouse chase for airplane contracts admittedly as Boeing and Airbus compliment the industry with not offering the same product in almost perfect harmony. Airbus has planes that fulfill one need while Boeing has planes that fulfill a different need and each other's products dont overlap each other. Example...the future of commercial flight was divided into 2 thoughts of school. Airbus went the A380 route while Boeing went the Dreamliner route. Both had decent sales of their respective products....but then defects occurred on both aircraft forcing the airline industries to look for other solutions in the other's portfolio. Boeing did catch a slight break as its 747 still does the job fantastically as a jumbo jet plus Boeing made a newer one. A slightly bigger 747 using newer more efficient engines and newer Dreamliner composite materials. To boot, this new bigger 747 is not that far off in passenger count to the A380... This is where Boeing just CAUGHT up to Airbus because Boeing's portfolio is a tad more flexible...(I think) I know you know the airplane industry. I had ins in the industry too. But its been awhile. Im going by an educated hunch on what I said. Like I said...I know you know this industry. Please respond to me and let me know If Im close to whatever I said or waaaaay off in left field.
  14. Yup. And Group Renault-Nissan when France owns 19% And Group PSA Which is Peugeot and Citroen when France own 13% And Daimler and BMW and VAG when Germany subsidizes many key endeavors. Not too mention the Japanese, Korean and Chinese industries involving all industries not just the automotive. Its difficult to comprehend as in America, any governmental help or intervention is evil and socialist and communist. But the entire planet works that way... This ALWAYS puts Detroit behind the 8 ball. But....let us not pretend that Detroit never got governmental help in over the course of its 100-125 years of automotive existence. Nor let us not pretend that foreign automotive manufacturers when entering the American market did not get some level of US Government monetary help to build factories on US soil... So yeah...basically....European countries do run and actually own some of these industries. PS. Airbus is owned by France 11.1% Germany 11.1% Spain 4.2%
  15. LMFAO on this!!! LOL on that! A blue, a yellow and a green one. Tweety, Bluey and Charlie. Can you guess which one is the green one? Well, Bluey wants a blue Superbird we settled for a regular blue Roadrunner. Tweety wants the car with the Screaming Chicken on the hood. I said Tweety...Ill get you the one with the Screaming Chicken on the hood, but its a Phoenix and the car is a Trans Am. Ill get you that Trans Am, but Ill get you a Firehawk Trans Am. You ROCK dude is what I told him! Charlie. Charlie is a tad jealous at this point. He starts yelling that he wants an Eagle car. The Eagle he told me...THE EAGLE! And he pointed to the iPhone as he used Siri to show me this Lets just say Charlie is sleeping with the fishes. Hey! His choice was not a Muscle Car!
  16. Sounds like me. I bought an Olds Alero coupe in 1999. I did own a 1989 Firebird at one time. Today I own a Honda product. A sedan. An Acura product to where I think that had Olds been still alive, Olds would have been a direct competitor to Acura. And yes I do have 2.5 kids. Well, a wife, 2 kids and 3 parakeets! I still like my Oldsmobiles...Buicks now I guess...but not as much as Oldsmobile and that Acura...well...Im loving that too. I wished I would be able to own a Challenger....even a Pentastar....the wife, 2 kids and 3 parakeets gets in the way of that Challenger!
  17. No amount of fake genius marketing could reverse that trend. REAL HONEST TRUE HISTORY did not entice these folk.... In other words....Ive seen you paint me and @Cubical-aka-Moltar as obsolete thinkers...cool! Ive shown you why I think the way I do with, as usual, youtube vids... Question is...how would YOU Mr. @Cmicasa the Great sell the really not needed selling of Camaro and Mustang to these obviously not giving a damn about ecoboosted Ford and Turboed Pontiac Solstice 4 cylinder derived (from Opel ecotec) pony cars that also have V6s as options and let us not forget them really not giving a shyte for the V8s?
  18. I love your spunk, dude! But If all that marketing right there....built in for 50 years...and the Hollywood style entrances...literally Hollywood style... Did not entice buyers of these NOTHING WILL!!!!
  19. Well....he does not have to wait for it. So yeah...good on him!!! And I guess he was satisfied with the Volt that the Bolt makes even more sense!!! Speaking of satisfaction... You get the phoqued up version of the song JUST because of your poo-poo attitude for Tesla!!!
  20. Not all is doom and gloom. While many are itchy and disappoint... And may cancel Some of these orders, the peeps with the anxieties, said they may upgrade to Model S or Model X... http://www.motortrend.com/news/report-tesla-model-s-75-rwd-discontinued/ Oh...the Model S 75 RWD is no more to distance it from the Model 3!!!
  21. Yes. Yes. MCE for mid-cycle enhancement. Well...it needed a mid-cycle enhancement 5 years ago...when I started liking it...ironically...that it never got. Yes I know...a couple of years ago it got LED lighting up front... Its time for a new one as visually, one could tell its a decades old design.
  22. I dunno what MCE stands for? I thought I knew, but it aint what I thought it was, that is why I edited this response!
  23. My friends (posse) when I was 20-21-22 years of age had 1 G60 VW Corrado 2 VR6 VW Corrados that were modified and chiipped 1 1995 VW VR6 Golf modified and chipped 1 1992 Eagle Talon tsi Turbo AWD 1 1988 "notchback" Trans Am with digital dash 1 1994 modified and chipped Ford Probe GT 1 1993 LT1 Vette with the Burgundy paint job but I dont remember it having 40th anniversary logos??? 1 1993 Dodge Stealth R/T 1 1993 Trans Am (first one in Quebec to be sold) 2 1995 Acura Integras 1 1989 Pontiac Firefly turbo (my first and only real girlfriend that I actually had feelings for at the time---it took maybe another 5 years to actually care for another girl with real feelings again---then another 4-5 years to meet my wife---all other relationships were flings) 1 1990 Asuna Sunfire turbo 1 1976 Toyota Celica that I almost bought, I opted for a 1989 Firebird instead. 1 1994 BMW M3. The dude with the 1976 Celica ended keeping the Celica and bought the Bimmer!!! He still has the Celica. The Bimmer is looooong gone! I had a 1989 Pontiac Firebird 2.8 liter V6 that I bought from another friend(he bought the Dodge Stealth) when I crashed that, I bought with my dad a 1994 4 door Pontiac Grand Am GT 3.1 liter V6...then I bought myself another car, a beater...a 1985 Oldsmobile Delta 88 with a 305. All those guys bought those cars new with the help of their dads with the exception of the 1976 Celica So no classic car guys in my gang. More like the Fast and the Furious crowd. Most of those guys despised American cars, classic or new for the times. These guys praised VWs and BMWs and Hondas...YUK!!!
