  1. Very cool in fact. This literally kills the argument that some had about the size drop. Altho I will say that in truth... GM, if this was the plan, should have simply called the new Acadia "the Envoy." In a twist of this.. I will also repeat that I am of firm belief that GM should re-purpose the SRX over at Cadillac as the XT3 until that vehicle actually shows up. The SRX is still a strong seller and still a very competent CUV. A simple rework of styling to make it appear more like the current A&S, and smaller and U have a nice interim small CUV
  2. You can swear all you like. ask and you shall receive. Skip to mark 2:45. Yup. And that's not even cold weather. 30 degrees. Yeah. Thanks for doing the work. U are good for something I see. The bottom line is that the CT6 is not using the same battery so U don't kno jack $h! until they actually do the test. Lastly.. I don't kno where U come from.. and seriously don't care.. so don't tell.. , but 30 degrees is cold in my neck of the woods. No no no. Excuse me, to quote you would be to stoop to your level. Mr. Dowdell, who happens to be rocket scientist answered your remark for you even before you mentioned range. Find it in this thread, And I don't care what you think - but crying that 30 degrees is cold is nonsensical. More like -30 Farenheit. That's cold. And you're going to get maybe 25 miles of range. Heck in a Tesla you'd be lucky to get 125 miles. It's batteries - it's how they work. Sheesh. Coupla things I could address.. such as U not quoting me.. then did.. but why bother. I kno how the batteries work. I realize that the norm would be that the 37 mile range would go down in the extreme cold.. but it seems to me that we are at an impasse as to what is cold. Not only that.. my comment was more pertaining to the fact that GM has lately been conservative in their range numbers. Call me an optimist.. and U a constant doggie downer, but I will still wait and see what the CT6 PHEV does before making a definitive statement
  3. I agree. What also needs to happen is a more plentiful, efficient, and quicker charging infrastructure put in the exact same places and convenient locations as a run-of-the-mill gasoline station is now

  5. Prime.. not to mention I'm betting good money that the range even on a cold day will be being reported as well into the 40s. Uh, no it won't. Several reviewers of the Volt in cold climates Michigan, Toronto, and the state of Washington have reported closer to the low 40s of electric range when fully charged in cold weather. Difference is that I'm an optimist.. f@#k the reviewers. I'm talking about real people who actually own the cars. I don't kno if U have picked up on that about yet. I very seldom go strictly by what reviewers come up with.. normally relying on real world stats over biased ones. Furthermore I would love to see a review.. just for kicks that states that the 2016 Volt dropped from 53 to 40s in cold weather

  7. I dunno. Until the TTV8 arrived I would think this would be my choice of all variations of the CT6. Talk about luxury. Acceleration is on point.. and the 37 miles of EV driving is a helluva bonus. In truth.. like the previous Volt owners will attest to.. U could drive this car every day and never use gasoline until it was time to do a annual burn off
  8. We are now starting to get the lo down on everything to expect from the 2017 Cadillac CT6 Plug-In Hybrid. Before now, the most popular and factual stories about it were that it was going to be produced in China at GM's shared (with SAIC) plant in Shanghai. What we know: - The vehicle will be powered by GM's 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder coupled with two electric motors. - The lithium-ion battery pack will share the Chevy Volt's 18.4 kilowatt-hour capacity - Full system horsepower is 449HP - 0-60 is expected to be 5.4 seconds. - Cadillac is also claiming an electric-only range of 37 miles. We also know that the CT6 won’t use the same battery-pack layout as the Volt. Like the Chevy BOLT, the battery will be integrated into the floor, which according to Cadillac, will help increase vehicle stiffnes, but like the VOLT, the CT6 will use a two-motor drive system, adding one more planetary gearset and two more clutches. The Engine will be built in MAryland along side that of the Chevy Spark EV in White Marsh's Allison PLant. Expect the luxury PHEV to go on sale late this year. as a 2017 model. View full article

  10. ^^^ This... but seriously.. we could get a CTS-VSport for $60K... without all the trimmings
  11. Even tho I'm pretty sure most kno what my answer is.. I will give a reason. After two weeks of living with Rose and not even being able to fully use her capabilities, just using about 60% of its power at this point .. due to break-in period and weather.. The ZL1 seems to be a a more purist form of my CTS-V Rose, and that is f@#kin scary great
  12. Started this conversation in 2008 on MT Forum, and they even posed the idea on the main article section. MT Article The 1/4, 0-100-150.. Braking, Skid Pad numbers are more indicative of performance in cars that can go over 175MPH. I mean really... the 0-60 test is in essence designed to give a buyer of a COMMUTER car an idea of how long it would take to reach cruising speed on the FREEWAY... a COMMUTER CAR.. as in Camry, Malibu, Focus, or Caravan. 0-60 can be achieved literally in a Blink of an eye in some of these cars, and using it sometimes as a gauge of a car's performance credentials can also be deceptive... In other words U could attempt to achieve "all powerful" 0-60 times but hit the gas in a 350HP+ car and U might just sit and spin for 3/10ths before U ever take off... The 1/4 miles is the choice of track running. I have NEVER been to the track or even as a kid, heard old timers talk about how fast their 66 Chevy II, 69 Road Runner, or 70 1/2 Camaro got to 60MPH... They always talked about and we always look at the 1/4 Mile or 0-150-0 which measures all out acceleration and stopping. The 0-60 talk around here concerning "Super Cars" or cars that posting Super Car times is REDUNDANT. Consider that these days 5 seconds to 60 can be achieved by SUVs (Jeep SRT8) and Full Size Sedans (G8 GT) I vote that we reserve 0-60 times to non-performance cars like the Daily Commuter types. Hence the reason why I am not suggesting ELIMINATING it in our discussions.. as 85% of our discussion here seem to.. for some strange reason on an Enthusiast Site... center around the "Sissy Cars" where 0-60 has meaning. My suggestion simply lends to the idea that when we are talking about Corvettes, Porsche's, Vipers, Camaro, Mustangs, Ferraris, Bugattis.. etc.. We move to a high realm... 4 instance.. a Veyron does 0-60 in 2.8secs.. which for a 1000HP car seems rather mundane.. considering we have 505HP cars that can do it in 3.4secs... and LET'S BE CLEAR.. 6/10ths is a BLINK of an eye unmeasurable by "seat of the pants" or the eyes... One doesn't see any real awe inspiring numbers from the Veyron until we start speaking about 0-100-0 which is 9.9secs.. meaning by the time a Prius is hitting 40MPH... the Veyron has gone to 100 and then come to a complete STOP... 6 years later I continue to believe that 0-60 is the dumbest thing in the world to judge a car carrying over 350HP, let alone over 600. 1/4 Mile is the measurement, and at a point we will have to veer off from even that as the more power these cars get the less likely they are gonna be able to depart from going further below the 3 sec runs. Other things, like chassis refinement, proper launching mechanisms, better tire technology etc are going to also be needed. Its one of the reasons why the 707HP Charger/Chall is probably gonna be slower to 60 when the comparisons are done to cars with only 650. Hell if U look at the numbers, even the 580 ZL1 isn't far off its 0-60 numbers. Hence the reason why the Charger HC can pull 11.8 sec @ 124.3 mph, .5sec less, and 9mph more than the ZL1, but its insignificant 0-60 is 3.7 vs the 3.9 by the ZL1. That's with over 127 more hp. Hence me loving the engine.. but not even remotely impressed with the car. I maintain that it is relevant in cars like a Camry.. a Prius.. a Malibu.. a Cruze.. a Focus... a Taurus.. a Tahoe.. a Murano, but not in a Vette, Mustang, GT599, 911 Turbo, GTR, CTS-V. After a car hits the 60 mph mark in less than 4.5 secs.. U kno that it becomes more and more pointless because at a point its all about the traction at take off, or lack of.
  13. Remember all the hoopla over the Flat-Plane 5.2L in the GT350? Quite frankly this current Mustang leaves me unimpressed when viewed up against the might of the Alpha based Camaro. Hell.. it left me unimpressed versus the ZETA based SS, Z28, and ZL1 as well.
  14. I think U hit the nail on the head.. but I also believe that we will see 2017 Caddys with the tranny as well. In particular a simultaneous launch of the TTV8 and 10Speed in the CT6 "VSport." Keep in mind simple logic.. the ZL1 is the first 2017 high-end V8 model announced. The GS, another announced '17, doesn't have the same config as other cars.. and has the exclusive TR6070 7speed Manual Tranny due to the tranny being behind the driver instead of under him/her.
  15. Don't even act like you don't LOOOOOVE rubbing in anything and everything GM does. GM is better.. than everyone else.. Why wouldn't he? In the Words of Cmicasa the Great.. "f@#k Every car manufacturer.. unless its GM and ... sometimes.. Ford"
  16. I would suspect that the fact that the ZL1 is a '17 model has more to do with the inclusion of the 10speed than anything else. I would also venture to say that the 10speed will go to 2017 RWD Cadillacs. Do I, after just buying a Vseries feel slighted? Yes and no. I am interested in the performance capabilities of the 10speed.. while at the same time being OK with not having it in its first year of application.. it being an industry first. Furthermore I will never take my Cadillac to the track. That is just fact. As to the Vette getting it.. perhaps it has something to do with the Vette having a slightly powertrain layout than the Camaro.. It's tranny being rear mounted and all
  17. I told U this in POST #18 of this very thread... Excuse me for not reading every single post as this article JUST came out Casa. Good grief man. After my initial question, I didn't come back to this page for a while. Sue me. Jeeez. Think U need to slow your roll. I was just pointing out.. didn't think U would take it as if I was coming down on U. Relax
  18. The current CTS is 195.5.. not 196, I just rounded. The part that U didn't bring up is that the CTS has more room in the front than it did in Gen 2. I kno.. I kno.. when driving a car the main concern for U seems to be that their is more room for the passengers in the rear than the ones in the front.. despite the fact that 80% of the time (90% in my case) only the front is occupied. Truth be told.. I think that the whole legroom thing was exacerbated by U german lovers (yes.. I spelled it with a lower case "G" out of disrespect) because Cadillac's Alpha's are just that damn good. Car beats in 95% of all categories. so lets find the one thing that the germans have as an advantage.. rear seat legroom . Don't worry tho.. GM hears U.. and will now bring a ATS and CTS replacement out that has that too. Again.. I'm betting because of this complaint we will be seeing a CT3 and CT5 with more legroom, improved driving capability andmin 200lbs less weight. Then.. like I said a week ago when I laid out $$$.. "f@#k gERMANY and their cars"
  19. I told U this in POST #18 of this very thread...
  20. I can honestly say.. now that I own one.. that the room in CTS rear is adequate. The thing is that at 6'3" I put my seat all the way back and my kid had no issue with legroom on that side of the car. My other kid was sitting on the passenger side laid back like jack.. as the seat wasn't all the way back. The CTS replacement will probably go to Omega. I could see it staying at 196 inchs.. and getting a bump in Wheelbase (currently at 114.6 inches) too coming in at around 117 in N.Amer, like the 5Series. It has been said that the CT6 handles as well as the current CTS.. so certainly I would think that an Omega based... smaller than CT6... CTS would handle as well or better, not losing any of its agility, and losing a few hundred lbs in the change over. This would be beneficial in amortizing the Omega platform even quicker.. (altho I would still push it out to an Impala at Chevy and a Park Ave or Avenir at Buick) along with the CT7 and CT8. LAstly.. the difference between the CTS and the Competition is negligible
  21. ^^^ See.. I already have one of those. LOL
  22. If I wanted to save a lil money... the Camaro SS is a nicer option than that German $h!
  23. No brainer.. $64,655 with one option.. Crystal White Paint. 12.1 sec @ 122mph leaving Ms and AMGs in the smoke
