  1. Oh, please grow up. You are complaining about the exact same thing you accuse conservatives of. Berkeley? HA! I do not think you could pay me to believe a study out of that area of the country. Oops...I'm distrusting.
  2. Did you read the entire press release or just about the new badge? It is not confusing if you keep up with the Scion special editions. I believe the xA has 1, the xB has 2 and now the tC has 2.
  3. I am really not so sure what the problem is. You can have your opinions about design but, otherwise, GM wishes it had the Camry.
  4. How long is the Solstice shown? 2 minutes? 2 seconds? If a "bad guy" drove it around the entire movie and it gets blown up at the end, I am fine with it. However, if it just gets blown up randomly, then no. The $2 million could have gone into investing in a better interior.
  5. The color is pretty hot.
  6. I see young people in the coupe and Si but the sedans are firmly in the slightly older/mature category. New families who need 4-doors but do not have a lot to spend, old people who want a small, fuel efficient car.
  7. 0 Probably will be that way for a long while, too.
  8. I hope he gets grilled for being a pussy by not wanting to testify against her. Apparently, he did not want to share the spotlight.
  9. 1) These numbers are only for the first 12 days of March. 2) The information is from JD Power, a trusted company, and covers a large pool of dealers (10,000) so it is based on fact. 3) Of course Toyota is going to gain share when GM and Ford post larger drops. That's usually how numbers work out, not every company is going to lose market share just because their sales are down. It depends on how much their sales are down compared to the rest of the field. 4) Domestics do have a disproportionately higher fleet mix, we have all seen the numbers. 5) The bad weather in parts of the country have had an effect on sales. 6) If the numbers are this bad at the end of the month, will the media be criticized for reporting more negativity? Will GM and Ford be branded as negative because they reported their own numbers?
  10. I loved you.
  11. I cannot tell the difference between the old and newer PT's.
  12. Good thinking, Tony.
  13. Good, good, good.
  14. One look at any of the mainstream media's infamous GM articles, complete with claims from industry analysts, tells me that public perception does matter. Obviously there is no silver bullet. A mangement shake up will not change the current restructuring plan of the month and will largely be symbolic but, if done correctly, it has the opportunity to change the long-range thinking of GM, which is sorely needed. Any GM advisor, analyst, marketer or manager who recommended putting all of GM's eggs into one huge SUV basket in order to get short-term gains should no longer have a job. Look at what it has done. It is akin to eating a candy bar when you want lasting energy. Wow, you are so perceptive. I may be too young to have ever worked in a large organization or be knowledgable about GM's past problems but I am observant enough to realize something may be wrong internally if we are on the 10th "restructuring plan" and results are few and far between. I am not just talking about more recent problems rather what has been going on for the past few decades. That's why I have a problem with a new CEO or other high-level mangement being born and bred GM. "Yes men," group-thinkers and loyalists cause huge problems when the going gets rough, as we have seen with GM, other companies, the president, etc.
  15. http://www.mtv.com/shared/movies/interview...re_alan_060315/ Interview with Alan Moore, the guy whose work the movie was inspired by but he demanded his name be taken off the project for various reasons. I give it an A for Assinine. Typical Hollywood junk.
  16. I saw a white 07 Escalade today, too. Granted, it looked better than what I saw in the pictures but it still looks soft.
  17. I thought public opinions did mean something? I think getting rid of some top GM management will show the public that GM is actually making a full turn around, which has been promised 1,000 times before but has never been delivered. You made my point exactly. GM's internal process has not worked well for the past few decades so why continue it? Instead of obnoxiously demanding what will change if Wagoner is gone tomorrow, perhaps you should take the time to think about what has a better chance of happening if another GM executive clone is placed at the helm: stay the same "we're going to turn this company around" lip service-type course or actually do something to get GM back on track.
  18. If throwing Wagoner out is symbolic and nothing else there is even more reason to get rid of him. Is that a GM group-think learning curve an outsider would have to understand? Amazing...
  19. You are more buff/built than I am. What a disgrace. Azul, if you do not mind me asking, how did you lose the weight? Keep it up, by the way.
  20. I am really sorry to hear about the accident, Bimmer, but like everyone else said, we're glad to know that you and your friend are alright. I have seen too many images on the news of cars wrapped around telephone poles. I am not trying to be patronizing but just be more careful, I guess. I fear the day I am in an accident.
  21. I would like to own: - Lexus IS350 - Benz E55 (know it's a POS but it is hot) - 300/Magnum/Charger SRT8 - Linoln Zephyr - Last-gen GTO - Sky - Last-gen Aurora (Fly, I hope I spelled that right; I'm tired) - Last-gen Bonneville GXP - 2007 Tahoe LTZ
  22. Nice article! Saturn is quickly becoming a favorite brand of mine and I know I am not the only one. I just hope GM does not mess it up by production. I think Saturn will outsell all but Chevy within two years.
  23. I am going to have to agree with Josh and BM. While I do understand the points and the counterpoints, I have a feeling Wagoner is going to be gone within the next year and, hopefully, it is for the better. Honestly, GM needs to look outside for its future management. Group-think, go-with-the-flow, be very loyal, etc. are not the best qualities when a company is dying. You need people who know enough about the company and its massive problems and are willing to do something about them. Strong arm the UAW, put a backbone in the PR and marketing departments, reform the organizational structure, remove waste and, most importantly, create amazing product by encouraging designers and engineers and getting a handle on the accountants. Most of the things that need to be done are going to hurt like hell but they need to be done.
  24. David Hasselhoff. Laguna Beach or The O.C.?
