  1. All the best to you as you take care of the many things you need to do and desire to do. I can understand...
  2. Not bad looking bad. That wagon looks larger. The sedan does too. Interesting how they are integrating Buick, Opel and Holden globally. GM North America sells Euro sedans as Buicks and Holden is selling Euro sedans as Holdens. Globalization..
  3. How did that guy do that? I guess you could do that with the Eighty Eight because GM did it twice. They did it in 1984-1985 with the Delta 88 Royale Brougham LS and the 1997-1998 Regency. Both of those models had a lot of Ninety Eight parts on them done at the factory. That has been my saving grace when I restored things on my Ninety Eight. I got new Eighty Eight parts that the Ninety Eight and Eighty Eight and Regency shared. Thank you for sharing.
  4. I have not found any good footage to post lately, and I have been busy at work. We are preparing the students for the summer and fall semesters.
  5. I am sorry about your loss OldsHurst 442. I really am. I am sorry about GM Parts Girl. I remember the screen name. any loss of any kind is difficult for anyone involved.
  6. I wonder if Chevrolet will get a version that is this size? This not a bad look vehicle. I do not like the headlights. I prefer a quad headlight design. This vehicle looks like someone redesigned the GMC Envoy. It looks like the old Envoy.. The similarities may be intentional. It is placed in the same segment as Ford Explorer now. That may be a good thing. The impressive thing is the 700 pound weight loss.
  7. Several things: Holden is supposed to get something rear drive when Commodore moves to front wheel drive or dies. Holden Monaro is what you may be looking at. They are not sending Camaro to Australia. Do not put the "Riviera" name on this car. We had a Riviera that was this small from 1986-1988 and it was a disaster and a joke. Riviera is a name reserved for a larger personal luxury coupe. If this goes into production in the United States, it is essentially is filling that space left by Pontiac Firebird. Cadillac has to push up market too. They are doing this with Cadillac.
  8. I know this late, but happy belated birthday!
  9. Wow... That is out there. I know the 90's Buick Roadmaster did not offer the 3800 V6. It offered the 5.7 350 Liter V8. I missed the 3800, but I know it has been out of production a long long time. I owe two GM cars with two different versions of the 3800. I have series I and Series II. This guy is not telling the truth.
  10. DISCONTINUEDSPARES.COM FINDITPARTS.COM EBAY.COM ROCKAUTO.COM I restored my Ninety Eight and Toronado and I located factory parts from those sites above. I located the hard to find stuff. I do understand your frustration. I agree with you. GM could make money if they made parts for their cars long after they are out of production or license the stuff out to aftermarket suppliers. There are other sites, but this is a start.
  11. I also wanted to say also the see two cars in the tail lamps. I see the first generation La Crosse tail lamps mixed with the Regal/Insignia tail lamps. That wheelbase is as long as the B Bodies were in the 1980's. That car is still less than 200 inches long. It is big as the downsized H and C bodies were in the 1980's.
  12. I am glad I am not the only one who sees the first generation LaCrosse in the window design in the theme overall look of this car. It looks like someone took the first generation LaCrosse and redesigned the car. I think the Chinese designers did the second generation because it was a concept car and the American GM designers did the the third generation. I guess we will have to see it in person. I think I see 1st generation plus the 2nd generation. which equals the 3rd generation.
  13. Happy Birthday! I hope it was all you wanted it to be!
  14. CP meant the "winged" part...I believe. Correct, I was trying to respond to Balthazaar, but it took me too long to dig up that picture at work and you snuck in that post about the waterfall grille before I finished. Not sure why someone downvoted you, so I fixed that. tHANX...ITS bURNT ls7 DudE...He has gone on a downvoting spree with me... He dont like me too much... So yeah...Buick's design language is elegant. It can be aggressive with huge waterfall grills and still look good, or toned down and have an air of debonair... I still prefer Oldsmobiles... I prefer Oldsmobiles too. You are not alone.
  15. Well... they sell a lot of Cruzes.. The Volt was distinctive, but maybe it was too out there for potential buyers and now Volt is in line with the Cruze so they will compliment reach other in the show room? I do not know.. I am just thinking.. I do not think the new Cruze is unattractive. It looks better than the current car.
  16. I saw the photo. My question is why does it look similar to the Volt? GM is taking a different approach with the edition?
  17. He beat me to it also.. Here is the Ebay link: http://www.ebay.com/...4244?rmvSB=true
  18. I think Lincoln is making the right move. I wish Cadillac would use names too. Even if they come up with new ones. Think about it... Escalade is selling and holding up the brand right now. It has a name. "ESCALADE". You know it is Cadillac. Why try to out German the Germans and the Japanese? GM and Ford( Lincoln) have this rich heritage they can embrace and use to their advantage. I do not think classic Cadillac names would steal from the brand. ATS and CTS are not selling right now even though they are great cars. Why? Because they are trying to be something they are not and Cadillac has to earn its way back up the prestige ladder. Plus Cadillac is playing in a segment they have never been in before. This is when you use who you are to your advantage. This why Oldsmobile failed at the end because they walked away from who they are instead of embracing it. I bet you if Aurora had been called Toronado and Intrigue was called Cutlass, it would have been a different story. It failed because of old GM mismanagement and failed marketing too. Buick is changing. It is succeeding where Cadillac is not. Buick is using real names. Names mean something to buyers. They resonate with them on different levels. That is why I hope the new leadership at Cadillac keeps making the changes they are doing, but reconsiders on the naming convention in their rebirth of Cadillac.
  19. Fusion XL. At least Taurus got its six window design back it started with in the 1980's. The car also got smaller. It is less than 200 inches again. It is now the size it was in the late 1990's early 2000's. I am sure we will not get this luxury version here. The Ford Australia design team did this design. I guess it is truly indeed "One Ford". I suspect they may do with Taurus what they did with Fusion/Mondeo. It may be Taurus/ Falcon this time around. The taillamps are the same ones they use on the Ford Falcon in Australia. Ford Australia: Falcon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rk9yzfQD4Q
  20. Fusion XL. They shortened the length but stretched the wheelbase. It is less than 200 inches now. It is about where it was in the 1990's. They fixed the interior at least. I saw this on another website, but the taillamps are just like the Australian Ford Falcon taillamps. http://resources.carsguide.com.au/styles/cg_hero_large/s3/ford-falcon-rear-fgx-2015-%282%29.jpg The Australian arm for Ford had a hand in design of this car. Since it is "One Ford", maybe the new Taurus is a global car to be sold on several contienents. They may be doing the Taurus/Falcon thing like they do the Fusion/Mondeo thing. Also consider this same car was being driven around and seen in spy photos. I suspect when and if we get this car, we will not get the Chinese "business" interior. My only issue is now this car comes in at 197 inches and Ford Fusion is 192 inches, what is going to stop them from competing and what is the difference? Chevrolet is about to do the same thing with Malibu and Impala. Also of note, at least Taurus went back to its orginal six window design it started out with in the 1980's.
  21. Happy belated birthday Drew! I hope it was a grand day for you.
