  1. I would say GMT-900 1 Lambda 0. But then again I prefer trucks. Avalanche is more versatile than the Acadia. Build quality wise I thought the Lambdas have the edge over the GMT-900's but it is not an expansive one to reconsider.
  2. North FL is getting snow!
  3. Dude, that one cannot run on Win XP, so forget running on the Vista. The game used to run fine with PII, 32MB RAM and 4MB video card of my uncle's computer in 1999 but it does not run on my Dual Quad Cores, 16GB and dual FX3800 video cards at work because it is not meant for it. BTW, the best NFS period. It burns me as I had to throw the CD away after all my computers went to XP.
  4. Things get desperate when you miss fighting snow off the first time in 25 years. Now he has to worry about the transmission, bed, accelerator, engine and brakes.
  5. I want FL to have climate change.
  6. Send some here. I want some in FL.
  7. I wish I was not in ubiquitously sunny Florida. I love snow!
  8. See you did indeed fight the white monster with someone's help. Never say never. How is Chicago, Drew?
  9. Velociraptors can help too. That is one helluva machine. Any overclocking?
  10. Aren't BMW's meant to be for Drama Queens? Independent specialists are hard to find. And now they know that the stealerships are charging off the ying-yang, their prices have become "competitive" with the stealerships.
  11. Don't do it! You will be Bitching Moaning Whining for making the decision.

  16. Let the Lindsey hype begin: Vonn is Sports Illustrated cover girl By Chris Chase Lindsey Vonn is hoping the Sports Illustrated cover jinx doesn't cross international borders. America's great Winter Olympic hope is featured on the front of SI's Winter Olympic preview issue, which hit newsstands Wednesday. Vonn's semi-provocative pose has drawn the predictable ire from those who claim that it objectifies her. She's an athlete, not a sex symbol, the chorus inevitably reminds us. From womentalksports.com: Vonn is first a GREAT athlete, but she also represents norm of feminine attractiveness. The combination of athleticism and attractiveness make Vonn the likely poster girl of the US Olympic Team, and the media hasn't disappointed in constructed her as such. Not to be left out, Sports Illustrated is featuring Vonn on their Feb. 8, 2010 cover. For those of you who follow SI Covers, know that female athletes are RARELY featured on the cover. Over the last 60 years researchers have shown that about 4% of all SI covers have portrayed women. When females are featured on the cover of SI, they are more likely than not to be in sexualized poses and not in action-and the most recent Vonn cover is no exception. They have a point in taking issue with SI; the magazine rarely features women athletes on the cover (as evidenced by that statistic) and its annual swimsuit issue has been a focus of protests for decades. But Vonn's cover is different. The pose at least resembles the tuck stance skiers like Vonn take when barrelling down the hill. It's exaggerated, of course, but not gratuitously so. It's not as if SI put her in a bikini in a Whistler hot tub. Also, this is Vonn's moment. If she wins multiple golds in Vancouver, Vonn has the potential to become a major crossover star. She'd be like Michael Phelps, only with better looks and an actual personality. Landing on the SI cover is a good way for her to start the Vonn saturation campaign. It's as important for her as it is the magazine. The pose is suggestive, sure, but it's not objectifying. The headline reads "America's best woman skier ever", for Jean-Claude's sake! Why can't she be both the best skier in the world and really, really attractive too? Tom Brady's a great athlete and a handsome dude and I don't hear people whine when he's shirtless in GQ. Most importantly, this cover is almost identical to the one that ran on SI's Winter Olympic preview in 1992. That one featured a gentleman named A.J. Kitt and I'm pretty sure nobody complained that it was too

  22. Welcome to Sketch Competition #29! Head Honchos at the Ren-Cen are spending many a sleepless nights looking at success of one diminutive little car and its variants. The car and its variants have caught the world raving about their design, quality and most importantly their price. Priced between $12,000 to $20,000 the vehicles have become bestsellers in lot of countries around the globe. GM wants to answer this car family and answer it right to claw back its market share and show its design renaissance. You are the newly appointed GM designer who has an impressive portfolio while finishing the design school. GM needs new ideas and you fit the bill. The car and its variants in question is the MINI! Yes somehow MINI became cheap and began onslaught in the world market. GM needs a MINI competitor to vie the world. Multiple body styles such as Coupe, Sedan, Cabrio, SUV, Hatchback, Wagon and Truck are planned. Boy oh Boy Choices Galore!! Mr. Welburn walks into your office one morning and tells you that you have till the end of the month to produce ONE SKETCH representing the EXTERIOR and ONE SKETCH representing the INTERIOR. What would you do? Well one thing you can do is to use the space below and show the idea. But remember Mr. Welburn also told the same thing to other budding designers in GM Lab - Man do you have one heck of a competition in your hands, don't you? So let your creative juices flow and show your mettle. Here are the basic requirements: The car family should be RWD and fun to drive vehicle. Exterior dimensions in hatchback and sedan version should not exceed that of the Aveo. The car will be powered with 3 or 4 cylinder engine with varying outputs. You decide what GM brand will adopt this car. If you feel like it deserves a new brand, explain it in the essay. In addition, a small essay explaining your thought process will go miles in helping people understand the reasoning behind your concept is demanded by the board who are not lifetimers in auto industry. So get your pens and pencils going. The DEADLINE is March 1, 2010. Please include at minimum 2 (two) of the following: 3/4 Front View 3/4 Rear View Interior View Entries without two perspectives will still be accepted, but will incur a 2-point penalty at the end of voting Remember, people will be voting based on the overall presentation of your entry, so the more views the better. While your essay should help in strengthening your viewpoint it will not be considered as part of the competition entry. And forgot the most important part: Winning sketch will receive a GM related prize. Good luck! Keep the design coming!
