  1. Yes, and Lincoln is doing very well also....Glad to see both Cadillac and Lincoln doing well. FCA is sucking wind though...
  2. #1. Used BRZ, easily attainable with 20-30K and a manual for under 20K. #2. NC Miata, set up for autocross, but also street legal for weekend fun. #3. Beater jeep Wrangler with a small lift and slightly oversized tires, weekend and snow vehicle. #4. Low Mile Acura TSX, family car. #5. New Chevrolet Cruz, negotiate like heck on a hatch, cheapo sedan if that is not allowed. This is what I actually would buy given those parameters. The only other vehicles I could see buying myself at the moment would be a WRX, GTI, IS250/350 Lexus, or a low mile base TLX Acura. ...and this really is why maybe I have not been as invested in the higher dollar car threads. If I was wealthy enough to afford a 150K car, i would spend the money traveling rather than buying a car. I also fantasize about being the guy that shows up at the brokerage in a ten year old sedan, with a healthy account....I like the idea of living simply.
  3. I feel your pain....pet cat has colitis and it is giving her massive diarrhea....giving pills to a cat is never fun,e specially one as feisty as this one.
  4. Absolutely agree here. Infinity is sort of like your brain on drugs...and not good drugs....
  5. Renegade is a nice product, glad it is doing well...300 is doing well....Chrysler is like the bright kid in school who doesn't give a rats rear end...when it tries, it comes up with some cool stuff. Now if we could just get them to invest more heavily in products for the US auto market.
  6. Ohh I get that...i was thinking more in terms of our discussions here. It seems we always think somehow an expensive car should trump a cheap one. Many of us would just plain rather drive a CTS-V than a Bentley....
  7. I think the crumbling EU and the rise of infighting among European countries wills end shock waves through the European auto industry. Plus a lot of people will want to move production out of England now that they are no longer part of the EU. Interesting times! I am almost wondering if the electric car revolution in America will come through local means. cities tend to be much more politically liberal than rural areas, i could see cities taking the lead on charging networks.
  8. Not sure I want to see Cadillac go for the jugular so much as fix quality control problems with their current lineup. They can sell tons of cars to small business people, lawyers, accountants, and the upper middle class. they do not need to compete with Bentley....or Benz for that matter. Benz has a world wide market to robotize making low volume exotic or interesting stuff. Cadillac needs to just focus on implementing their current thinking more robustly. Lists are subjective and kind of pointless anyways. Getting your hands on an actual automobile and doing something with it is what matters. Going off road in a beater Jeep on a Sunday trumps all of the list making on the planet, IMHO.
  9. Oh hell yes...i would upvote this by a thousand if I could.....this trumps both of the European cars by a country mile! I don't know why one would feel compelled to buy a more expensive car if a cheaper one would do you right. Hell, the Cruze is shockingly good, as is every product from Chevrolet. If you were wealthy and did not need the status ro attention, a loaded Impala would do everything any sane person could want. If Cadillac can get over a few of their past demons, look out, because they are the ballsiest car company building luxury cars on the planet, outside of small volume exotics like McLaren and Lotus. I too would take a CTS-V over either the Bentley or the Benz, all week long and twice on Sunday. Or on the list idea, what 5 cars would you actually buy given a choice....it is easy when their is a thread a week on what car out of five...make people pick 5 cars they really really want that would theoretically be somewhat attainable for them....and then ask them to explain why.
  10. I could really see the French doing this. But they would have to be willing to have a long term cash infusion to get the three to market.
  11. Agree completely. Would more likely be an expensive embarrassment.... This would be good....
  12. I am thinking fo doing a write up of the test drive my wife and I took in one. Quite the nice little car, actually. GM is learning better how to manage supply, but they still have a way to go to catch Honda and some other car makers.
  13. Exactly why I said in the Cadillac thread that our luxury cars will eventually be built to Chinese tastes and not US tastes. Americans want all of the benefits of living in a first world, first rate society with none of th effort...let me know how that works out for them... Tesla has enormous cash flow problems that will get orders of magnitude worse under the Trump administration, my thought is put a fork in it, but I could be wrong...and hope that I am.
  14. .... good luck getting the in the USA....glad Europe is doing this.
  15. They make the old Soviet five year plans look well executed.
  16. Cruze is a really fine little car, especially in hatch form Washing his hand after the reach around....
  17. Better care exist in this price bracket...most of the cars it will be competing against actually.
  18. The Benz is the better of the two, but I like the Cadillac style much, much better!
  19. All of the easy fixes such as dropping interest rates have been sued to get things going, and we seem to have a glut of both new and used cars on the market. Test drove a Cruze Saturday after being offered $50 by a local Chevrolet dealer to come in for a test drive. They were discounting it by about 4K....Cruze hatch.... Found one in California new discounted 6K on car Gurus....brand new... Escape, 2016 leftover was like 9 grand off at a local Ford dealer.... When car makers can't drop their pants any more on prices the market might make an uncomfortable adjustment or two.
  20. Horrible does not even begin to cover it....
  21. http://www.foxnews.com/auto/2016/11/29/stash-wwii-era-cars-hidden-in-french-quarry.html
  22. Because European car makers feel a need for a billion different models and trim levels. I like how Benz sells two doors, convertibles and wagons....but BMW and Benz are off of the chain when it comes to the number of different models.
  23. Really nice dive footage from a dive on Brittanic, the sister ship to the Titanic which also sank. Violet Jessup was unlucky enough to be on both ships but lucky enough to survive both sin kings. This is the largest passenger ship sitting on the seabed....
