  1. That cutty pace car in the first photograph is awesome... Chris
  2. You hit the nail on the head. No one gives a rat's ass, which is why we are the way we are. Chris
  3. I'll see if I can get some...not sure if she'll come down. Chris
  4. Bringing this back to cars... G Force Radial T/A Tires... (Just bought a set...good tires...) Chris
  5. Agreed, blu. Chris
  6. I actually really like those old Ramblers. Family down the street from he had a 65 wagon that was red when I was growing up. Their house was always landscaped with lots fo flowers, they took great care of everything...including that car. It was always spotless. 60's Ramblers were one of the better car designs of the 60's IMHO. They even built Rambler ragtops IIRC. Chris
  7. One word-Prowler. Funny how every carmaker seems to go out with a bang... Golden Hawk/Avanti for Studebaker, Prowler for Plymouth, Caribbean for Packard, G8 and Solstice for Pontiac... At that rate the rest of GM should live forever. Whatever the human race evolves into will perhaps be driving W body Impala's in a million years or so? Chris
  8. Look at the beautiful whtie 4 door in the back ground. Mercury perhaps? Chris
  9. This is really good news and really where we need to be heading as a nation. WOW! Chris
  10. My son Joel is 16, and his 16 year old "friend" Amber drives a manual just fine, my sister learned on a manual, my wife learned on a manual, etc. Chirs
  11. +1 for Brembo's. That's one of the things Hyundai did right on the Genesis coupe with the track pack. My Miata will upgrade brakes at some point... Chris
  12. Glad to see her coming together. Got to be sad for you though, seeing the other LH suffer in the yard. Glad she could give up parts to keep yours running. Chris
  13. Actually not a bad looking car...a little detailing might bring it out to being quite the nice driver. Mechanical issues would seem easy to take care of. A couple grand and she might be sweet. Chris
  14. INTERSTATE HIGHWAY
  15. ...and GM isn't the only one with the idea that FWD is the way to go... http://www.autobloggreen.com/2009/07/16/ru...eplacement-com/ I think I'm going to buy an old 50's truck and give up on modern car makers. In about 3 or 4 years there will be nothing outside of the MINI that will appeal to me. ...and people who are passionate about what they drive will be the ones getting the shaft. Chris
  16. Agreed. Seems as if we want zero creativity in everything anymore.. Chris
  17. I feel the same way, Camino. The Sosltice thing is starting to play with me about as bad as the G8 ST thing is playing with you. Like I said...GM will fail at playing Toyota. Chris
  18. We have five kids and five cats. Each Cat has "adopted" one of our children...and our family (other than the bathroom with the litter boxes) is all the better for it. Animals and cars are two things that make life worth living, IMHO. Chris
  19. Actually, I think it might have been Island Coral, as it was kind of a "peachy" pink. Chris
  20. Actually the 72 Torino is a good looking car, before the uggly 5 MPH bumpers... I remember being a kid and everyone wanted a Torino when I was in elementary school because Starsky and Hutch drove one... Chris
  21. I would agree. People still and RWD cars. Where would GM be if they still built a RWD Grand Prix and Cutlass? Is anyone else around here old enough to remember how every parking lot in the US seemed to be just full of these cars in 67, 77 or 87? They had a winning formula, which people want still...and refuse to build it. Idiots. Chris
  22. GM chasis engeneers did their work. Why do you think a (modified) version of the prev. gen CTS is so successful as a road racing car? GM is like a bipolar dysfunctional child-brilliant when it wants to be, really bad at other times... This is a time when GM is brilliant! Chris
  23. ...which is why I have a 70 Charger in my sig. With the Italians running things, there is hope for the American auto industry. Pretty bad when Italians are better at making American cars than Americans. And yes, GM will refuse to learn this lesson. Everything other than the Camaro and CTS that has any individuality will be $h! canned. (damn, I'm starting to sound like smk!) Toyota failed when they tried to run their company like GM, GM will fail when they try to run their company like Toyota. Trust me on this one... Chris
