  1. I've had similar experiences, but only on a VERY small scale.... In this case, it's the deceased Grandparents MacDonald on my mother's side (on my Dad's side they're much younger and still around). Grandma MacDonald was a spunky woman who was born in Mull, Scotland and emigrated to Cape Breton during WWI as a toddler... She died suddenly in 1979 and I never met her... Grandpa MacDonald was an stubborn but lovable, individualist, small-town Presbyterian minister from rural Nova Scotia who died a few months after I was born... but not before he had a chance to Baptize me personally a month before he died. I feel a special sort of 'connection' to him above all, it's odd, and difficult to explain, but sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night to see the man just standing over my bed. As freaky as it is, It's real comforting in a way too. It's like he's there for support and telling me to 'stay the course'. I also have a recurring dream where I'm walking in a snowy grove of trees and my Grandmother, complete with 1970s clothing and hair is passing on proverbial matronly advice to me, all the while insisting there was 'oil under the house' at Rockyside.
  2. Yeah... we had recalls done on our Dustbuster and Cavalier WAAAY out of warranty. It's a government regulation... recalls are and always will be free of charge. Anyone who says otherwise needs to get off the pipe.
  3. Keep in mind that in Canada, the cost of parts, not just cars, has not been currency adjusted yet and prices are still like they would be at 75 Cents vs. Parity.
  4. The labor was 236$... 175$ was for the pump... and various costs for the peripheral parts.
  5. Well... What an Ordeal... 500$ Later my car is back on the road. The car was losing coolant at the water pump... the whole thing was faulty and had to be replaced... Now the car runs better than I ever remember it running so I'm happy.
  6. Problem is... With those features you get a car that pulls to the left under heavy braking, has a fuel gauge that goes backwards, and shakes real bad @ stoplights... two friends with Kias have these issue... you get what you pay for.
  7. *Speculation Cap On* Any Zetas and Alphas that may end up being built for the NA market and not imported from OZ will be made in Canada... The FWD Impala replacement (read Bel Air; Biscayne, cause it can't be called Impala outside Oshawa) will move from Oshawa to where the two Zetas were promised in the UAW contract to make up for the lost product there and preserve the employment... Oshawa works on a whole shwack of low volume Alpha and Zeta till bubble bursts... Oshawa closes.
  8. Sounds like my dad's approach to dealing with people in general
  9. The first thing I thought when I saw the video was PCS driving his GXP and Camino in the passenger seat trying to get it in the ditch. :AH-HA_wink:
  10. Did someone say Pontiac Grand Prix?
  11. 3500 with Simulated Dual Exhaust methinks.
  12. Especially the ratty Windows OEM one... *Cringes*
  13. Beverly Hills? Wanna front me 18K$? :AH-HA_wink:
  14. My list of 'want to have' is long... Maybe if I play my cards right I'll get to cross some off the list 1959 Oldsmobile 98/88 Hardtop 1958 Buick 1956 Cadillac Sedan Deville 1965 Impala SS283 Convertible Boattail Riviera 1965 Toronado 1962 Sport Fury 1962-3 Imperial 1961-3 Continental 4-Door Hartop Convertible 1966 Cutlass
  15. Go For It!
  16. The Sport Fury was one of the few early 60s Plymouth and Dodge models that weren't butchered ala Valiant.
  17. Certainly is... it's only second to this one on the Mopars I would restore list: The Imperial's unique ovoid steering wheel is really nice too....
  18. Yeah Reg, go for the Taurus
  19. My favourites are the 62 and 63 Imperial LeBaron
  20. If they are going to OZ, it shouldn't surprise anyone... Lutz said himself that Chevrolet is GM's GLOBAL brand from now on...
  21. Good that GM is actively showing an Oldsmobile at its display as if they actually existed.
  22. Pretty Sure it's not.
