Yes, another used vehicle thread...
All 3 Ventures we had had the Power Sliding Door and we hadn't one problem with it- no troubles with the engine either. All three had bad seals around the windscreen that caused some staining on the headliner. The 2005 had a squeaky rear suspension that we could never sort out. Otherwise things worked out quite well.

Yes, another used vehicle thread...
We had four U-Body vans. 1 3.8L Trans Sport Dustbuster and 3 Venture LS LWBs. They were all great to us, reliable and well made. We were originally looking at an Uplander LT but we bought a W-Body instead. With these final gen vans the quality is NOT THERE AT ALL. RUN DON`T WALK. We drove one and there is an obvious quality fall from Venture to Uplander. I`ve heard nothing but horror stories on these vans, from electrical gremlins to build quality related issues these things are possessed.

RWD Cadillac Flagship Back On Track, Plus Two New Buicks Approved
As far as I understood XTS ~= Lexus ES and this car, lets be optimistic and call it "Fleetwood" or "Deville" ~= 7-Series (I heard the DT7 name has been shelved for something better.)

RWD Cadillac Flagship Back On Track, Plus Two New Buicks Approved
No offense but I'll believe this when and only when I see it. Until GM can prove to me otherwise I'm gonna stick to my prediction that even five years from now this car below will still be better/more like a traditional american luxury car than any big Cadillac GM decides to finally make.

2008 Pontiac G6 summer clean-up
GMTG, MCE'd G6 Sedans had the mirror surrounds with colour in them, you could always buy a pair of '09 spec mirror housings.

I've decided what my first "classic" will be....
Glad you made your decision, Dave. If I go for a "Classic" it will likely be a LT1 Fleetwood.

10 worst automotive fads...
Vinyl roof is fine on any RWD V8 American car D-Body Fleetwood Brougham (1996) and older. I like certain elements of the digital dash but more along the lines of the ones that were in the 1990s Caddy Devilles/Fleetwoods and Buicks.

2010 Buick Allure (LaCrosse) in person
The Plood in that car is no better than the Plood in a W-Impala. The DTS plood from 2008+ outclasses that.

He's not the sort of person that would mod a car so not to worry...

Aye that was the long rear deck. Again that's not the exact car but it's in similar condition

One of my friends lucked out
So I have a friend who is finally getting rid of his learners and getting his full license. He told me he was buying a car for 500$ from his great uncle and that it was American and he thought it was a GM but beyond that he didn't know what it was as the name of the car was unfamiliar (he couldn't quite remember it). He described it as a "big white coupe" with red leather upholstery and that the car was MY 1990. I came by there today only to find out that the car he spoke of was a 1990 Oldsmobile Toronado Trofeo in white with the Garnet leather interior. It has 100'000 miles and is in pretty decent shape. It has the fully functional factory original Oldsmobile Visual Information Display (Touchscreen CRT control for HVAC and Stereo), Keyless Entry, the Automated Voice that talks to you, etc. Everything is original and everything works- even the popup headlamps. So suffice to say I'm a little jealous right now. He really loves his new car- he's always kinda been sympathetic to American cars but he really likes this Toronado saying its better than the big Cadillacs of the era that I favour (I'll agree to disagree). Here's some pictures of a similar car:

When we had sales prospects for my grandfather's car I would tell people it was sold until the person who was looking at it phoned me back with a decision.

GM CEO: "Give Us Another Chance"
I'll still look to GM first but if Ford makes something I want more, then I'm not going to feel bound to buy from GM.

The Huff Post hates America in general, not just GM. Glad to see Welburn mention 20th Century design greats like Eero Saarinen and Harley Earl.
