  1. Pretty sure it was a limited availability color only in 2008 MY.
  2. Saw a light blue Ferrari California today, or whatever it is technically called. Pretty slick.
  3. I would take an additional $4K on a loan and find a 2004 CTS-V for $19-20K. For $16K though, I would go with a GTO.
  4. The Enclave has never had HUD to my knowledge. The Acadia was originally a Pontiac, hence it got the HUD. It didn't have the LCD screens for the rear, but you could still get the regular rear DVD and sunroof at the same time, I'm pretty sure. And I'm pretty sure it had the rearview camera as well.
  5. It is ridiculous how much the Lambda's have increased in cost. I remember when the Enclave came out, a loaded one was about $45K. Now Acadia's are basically $50k!?
  6. Composites are easily the way to go, I'm sort of surprised it has taken this long for a mostly-composite plane to be developed. Composites have much, much higher strength-to-weight ratios than steel or aluminum and have better fatigue properties as well. Most metal fracture is caused by fatigue, not simply too much strain or stress on the metal, and composites can give you the strength of metals without having to worry about fatigue life.
  7. Absolutely awesome. I just wish the interior was a bit more modern. I'm on the fence about buying one when I graduate and get a job because of the interior.
  8. I think you mis-read the article. It says that an "elephant field" has a billion+ barrels and that Brazil has found several elephant fields, meaning several billion barrels.
  9. Make the Coupe 60 a Chevelle. The Camaro sucks in terms of 4 people actually being able to ride in it. A Corvette is almost as practical.
  10. But it is already for sale in other parts of the world, if I'm not mistaken...?
  11. Northstar Brian 2004 Pontiac GTO Purchased January 21, 2006.
  12. I have pretty similar Pirellis (PZero Nero M+S) on the GTO, and they're great. The stock wheels, which go on pretty soon, still have the crappy BFG KDWS tires on them. There is absolutely no comparison. I would expect the Pirellis would kick the crap out of the BFG's, but at the same time they seem like overkill on a Bonneville. What about Goodyear TripleTreads? We replaced RS-As on the Alero with those and there's a huge improvement.
  13. The best is easy: Porsche Carrera GT Porsche 911 Turbo Aston Martin Vanquish Lexus LS (yes one person has all those cars, he also has a $100M yacht and I'm sure he has cars I'm not aware of at other places) Worst would be a single man who's wife died who just has a Civic or this house on the other side of my cul-de-sac that has a couple POSs sitting on the drive with flat tires (old Toyotas I believe, don't go to the other side of my cul-de-sac often), but I'm not sure what they have inside their garage.
  14. How do you figure it will be under $40k? The CTS-V engine adds about a $15K premium over the 3.6 DI, which would put the Z28 at at least $45K if it comes well equipped.
  15. What are the requirements (besides two doors and fun to drive)? Anything? I've recommended it before: Porsche Cayman S. You can get 2007's for $40k or a little less with ~20k miles on them. $40k seems like a lot, but consider that they cost $70k or thereabouts new. Also, basically every review says it's the best handling car you can buy that doesn't cost at least $150K.
  16. Florida already has ridiculous toll rates. I drove to Ft. Lauderdale this summer and we went on the Florida Turnpike... there was one toll for $1.50, one for $2.50, and the last toll was $17!!?!? Granted, we were on the road for quite some time (5 hours of driving maybe), but it was just ridiculous that you had to pay $21 to use the damn road.
  17. How is it possible that we only have .5M posts? I have over 1.5M myself!
  18. Of course Obama is pro-GM. Who honestly thinks he's going to dump billions into bailing out GM and then root for them to collapseb?
  19. At the engineering firm I've interned at the past two summers... The tech/CAD person who works there now and last summer (but not the first summer) is one of the laziest people I've seen. First of all, I do more as the lowly intern in terms of getting stuff done on CAD. That's basically his only job unless there is a problem with the network, which always takes him forever to fix as well. In addition to me getting more CAD work done, I also do calculations and design work, go out on job sites, and go to meetings. BUT, not only does he seem to sit on his fat ass all day (yes, he is fat, probably 5'4" 280) and not get hardly anything done, he then complains when deadlines come up and he has a $h! ton of stuff to do all of a sudden and it's due in 2 days. I feel like telling him, "you know, maybe if you worked a tiny bit faster and got 1 extra page edited per day, then when the deadline came up we wouldn't be in such a crunch." The funny thing is that the company is only the 3 owners, a secretary, two other engineers, the CAD/tech guy, and me (and I'm only there in the summer) and I've heard the two minority owners (one guy owns most of the company) talk about how he seems to not do $h! and is only good for tech problems. I can't believe he still has a job. If I was in charge, the first thing I'd do is find another guy to do his job and fire him.
  20. If you're including Cadillac, GM easily wins, if not, it's pretty close. The Milan doesn't really count because its just a different take on the Fusion style-wise. I'd say the Fusion has a slight edge over the Malibu based solely on the Hybrid offering. The LaCrosse is better than the MKZ, however. Hard to pick a clear winner because which price point do you put more emphasis on. I voted GM because Cadillac was included and the CTS trounces anything Ford has to offer. 2/3 for GM = win.
  21. That's probably why he said it needs some interior and NVH refinements... The G6 is certainly not a bad looking car, though I never cared too much for it; the convertible is also way too damn expensive. The G6 being worse than the Malibu and Aura is not surprising, considering it is 2 years older than the Aura and 3 years older than the Malibu. GM improved its new products A LOT in those years. When the G6 came out it was GM's best midsize product and actually sold very well initially.
  22. If I could pick any 4: 1) Bentley Continental GT for everyday driving/cruising 2) Ferrari 458 Italia for all out performance 3) Porsche Cayman S with some modifications as the ultimate driver's car 4) Bugatti Veyron GT for ridiculous speed and top-down fun If I had to limit it to 3, I would probably get rid of the Porsche (Ferrari would be fine as a driver's car). Any two, Ferrari and Bentley would stay.
  23. Sat in the LaCrosse tonight... very nice inside. My dad liked it quite a bit, but I'd never buy one, and after driving the GTO for the last year and a half or so, he loves the rumble and handling of V8, RWD cars now, so he'd have a tough time picking one over a G8.
  24. Water or milk. I usually have a bowl of cereal and just drink the remaining milk, sometimes I'll have a glass of water as well.
