  1. My favorite color on the Avi is a really bright metallic lime-oilve green from a few years ago..only seen a couple in that color, would look great on the '10 Camaro.
  2. Never driven a CRV....the Hondas I've had experience driving were fun to drive, IMHO--my sister used to have a '91 Legend coupe, my girlfriend in college had an '88 Accord hatchback, my friend Steve's '91 NSX, another friend's '97 Prelude--....haven't driven any recent ones, though.
  3. First summer weekend here..i.e. first weekend of 100s...will be this way and warmer through September probably...enjoyed the pool some today, and went and saw 'Star Trek' this afternoon w/ some cubies. Excellent movie, btw.
  4. I think I may have seen one on the road. I did see 4 on top of a car hauler recently.
  5. I like the '67-68 Firebird a lot... never cared for the '69 styling, but I like the '70-73 Camaro and Firebird pretty equally well. Sometimes I wonder, had I been born in '40 instead of '70, what would have I have bought in 1970? There were so many incredible cars then...
  6. Interesting..I kind of like it, though I might have gone for more of a '74-76 front end treatment, with a sloped back nose... looks better than some of the other conceptions I've seen.
  7. Rad...I wonder if Toyota has considered building a Ridgeline competitor off the Highlander or other CUV? GM could definitely do one, a pickup based off the Traverse, call it El Camino.
  8. A friend of mine in NE Ohio back in the day would use duct tape covered with bondo on rusty door bottoms. Worked on rockers also, though there he would put layers of cardboard behind the duct tape.
  9. Got in the pool. 6pm, 82 degree water temp...was a shock at first, but after a few min of floating around, it felt good.
  10. Unfortunately, Balthy is another guy that knows everything, is always right, walks on water, and has to dominate every conversation. Very much like Reg... except Balthy is the expert on all automotive history, and will tell you that. I'm sick of both of these guys, personally...thinking about adding them to my block list.
  11. Yeah, was 102 today..the highs are going be pretty consistantly over 100 from now until mid September. I took last Friday off, went back to Denver for 3 days...the gray, cloudy rainy 40 degree weather was heavenly compared to the disgusting tan baked $h! of the desert.
  12. I don't mind it..better than a cold one. I've tried getting in when it's 78, but that is too cold for me. In the summer, I usually get in after dark..since we don't have DST, it gets dark relatively early..;
  13. I've long thought they should change the name from 'General Motors' to 'Generic Motors'.
  14. Tesla roadster (B.O.->musk->Elon Musk->Tesla)
  15. An SS w/ GXP badging and some unique Pontiac parts (wheels, hood, fascias, lighting, wing) could have made a nice G5, I think...
  16. I always look at stories like this from the perspective of the developers, those of us in the life, in the trenches (cubes). The nature of the software industry is such that so many projects never complete, fail, get shelved, --or companies merge or fail, etc that if one's sense of being, worth, and career satisfaction depended heavily on getting closure--i.e. seeing the fruit of your personal and or team effort make it successfully in production--that you would go insane from lack of closure. In my decade plus in the business, I've seen more failures than successes, unfortunately. There have been countless processes developed over the years touted as the 'Silver Bullet' for the problem, but none of them really work...so many projects fail vs. the number that actually succeed. It's a frustrating business to be in, but still can be a lot of fun and challenging at times.
  17. Well, now have the first 100 degree week going on...highs have been over 100 ever since Tues and supposed to be that way into next week. Pool water temp was 81 last night--POOL TIME! By July, the water temp will be 92 or so. Things will cool off again in mid-late September. I keep telling myself, just one more AZ summer....then run screaming..
  18. Supposedly, a movie is coming in '11...no details on IMDB. Seems like it might make a good Vin Diesel action flick..
  19. Ahh....ok. I thought maybe you had slipped up for once..
  20. Given their history, and that they are both German, I suspect it will be better for both companies, unlike the DaimlerChrysler disaster..
  21. I wonder if any of the original designers/developers are still involved...that is an insanely long duration for any software development effort. I worked on one project that was 3 years from start to first client install, and that is a pretty long duration..
  22. The Cayenne is not a rebadge, it's platform sharing, same as GM does...you of all people should understand the difference between badge engineering and platform sharing.
  23. The ones in my Jeep are pretty good, I like how they are removable to wash. Though what I'd really like, though, are adjustable, heated, chilled and lighted cupholders...
  24. I really like those wheels on the 300M...those were nice cars.
  25. The 356 is a fun car...a friend of mine has a 1960 356, a 914, and a '76 930 Turbo. All are fun cars in different ways..so many people forget the original sports cars were not about raw power but handling finesse...
