    Hillary Clinton

I'd like to think we can make a civilized discussion out of this. She's the 3rd best Democratic candidate in my eyes, behind Obama and Edwards. I'd also put McCain ahead of her if we're including likely Republican candidates.

  3. A completely off topic note: I really like the idea of the huge. cloth sunroof. Bigger than a glass sunroof and less liely to have a huge issue than a panoramic glass roof, it seems like it would work well. My only concern would be long term durability and weather protection, although I'm sure some of the measure in place to protect cloth convertibles could be put into place. I'd love to get my hands on this: (Its a 318i California Edition)

  6. So they made changes to the cars so they are all still pretty much the same, only dorkier looking? Sly, you must not follow NASCAR, the reason for the wing is obvious. Its another place to put a Levitra ad.
  7. I had a similar discussion with a guy I know who has an SRT-4 several months ago, basically I used the same argument 68 posted above. I said back seat+rear doors+FWD=/=sports car. He kept arguing so I finally said, "Look, no matter what you say, its still just a Neon, which is still a POS economy car loved by old women an 16 year old girls, so it is not a sports car." He didn't like that, but didn't have anything to refute it. Is it sporty? Yes. Is it reasonably quick? Yes. Is it a sports car? No. Edit: I agree and disagree with something else 68 said. I too would consider the 911 a sports car in spite of the back seat, but not the RX-8. If we had an actual 2-seat RX-7 I would call it a sports car, but the RX-8 with all of the extra doors and seats (and the weight they add) relegate it to sporty touring car status in my mind,
  8. So size doesn't matter, its how you use it?

I wish we had the diesel.
  10. $1.99 but because of the storm a lot of stations have been running out of gas due to people powering generators and such. It took until Tuesday night to get my power back on, partly because my town's public works department ran out of diesel for the trucks and had to keep sending people to Arkansas to get fuel because pumps were dry here.
  11. I saw a Tundra pull an F-150 put of a ditch the other day. Foreshadowing?
  12. SOAD and Tool both suck.
  13. I've got electricity-ish. Last night we had streetlights, but no power to the house, still its progress since before the streets had been pitch black.
  14. We got our asses kicked, kinda. The roads are fine, put power is out just about everywhere. I lost power Friday night, it came back on for a couple of hours Saturday then died again, as far as I know its still off. Right now I'm in downtown Springfield, MO using the WiFi the city has set up, nowhere else has internet access. Luckily my laptop had some battery left in it. This place looks like a Serbian war zone or something, ice everywhere, trees in the streets, hardly any people. I'm staying at my sister's place, she's had electricity since yesterday morning, which is better than Saturday morning when she woke up to find a tree had fallen over on her husband's F-150 which had been parked in the back yard since he's out of town. The windshield is broken but that about it. Thanks for the concern, I'll try to check in again later tonight if I make it over this way again.
  15. Not going to use this pic?
  16. I'm looking more at the center console armrest, the only people actually use. The Avenger's looks as inviting to the elbow as my sister's old Hyundai Accent's. I'll takle my Fusion's soft plastic armrest or the Malibu's leather covered one.
  17. Its pretty much just Dodge and Chrysler, and its not just the armrests, everything is cheap hard plastic.
  18. Ferrari 612 Scaglietti
  19. Sweet, Impala wheels!
  20. I leave my keys in my car in the driveway at night. I'm in a pretty low crime area, mostly just meth with the occasional murder, car-related crimes are very rare. When I delivered I would only take my keys out if I were going to the ghetto-ass apartment complex or one of the ghetto-ass trailer parks*, not because I was worried about having my car stolen, more because I was worried about having the pizzas in my car stolen (which did happen to a friend of mine in one of the gehtto-ass trailer parks) or having my laptop taken out of the back.*I use the term "ghetto-ass trailer park" in the nicest way possible, but thats the most appropriate description of three mobile home parks that were in my delivery area. One of them was completely bought out by the city last year and they made everyone move because the nearby neighborhoods were complainging about the smell. Turned out there were a couple of meth labs in there. Oops.
  21. I still remember the first time Alex pissed on me. At that moment I knew I was a father. Congrats, you're not going to sleep for a very long time but they'll be the greatest sleepless nights of your life.
  22. Mostly things that have already been pointed out in this thread and the othre thread about this article, and the VW Vortex thread which is linked to in the other article. No company is going to turn down millions of dollars from their government. If they did, it may eliminate them from competing for government contracts and getting government favors in the future, bad business. Put yourself in the position of the guy who headed Opel. A murderous tyrant takes over your country's government and wants what you've got. You do whatever the hell he says and dont let the highest of highs at GM know exactly whats going on because they might pull the plug and you wind up dead. Basically, whoever wrote it just looked for something to write about to get his name out, cause a stir. Without looking at all of the circumstances of a situation, essentially finding out why things happened the way they did, you cannot write a complete, fair article.
  23. Um, its a couple of lines away from being a Diamante.
  24. The 2.7 is there for fleet/volume purposes only. I hope GM doesn't try something similar. Raise the base price by $600 and give it a good base V6. Dont pull a Chrysler and make ABS/ESP optional on the base car either. Those two things will do most of the work AWD will do for a lot less, putting minds at ease (well minds that aren't reg's) and not forcing them to shell out $2k for an AWD system that they'll rarely need.
