  1. Chrysler Corporation. Especially if Lee Iacocca stepped in again to take control.
  2. usually commando. especially in summer.
  3. Couple of Saturn Auras New Malibus Lots of new Jettas smart fortwo old Hyundai Excel hatch in d/t at McD's blowing out blue oil smoke!
  4. Well, if worst comes to worst, you could look into that 3.2 or 3.5 swap.
  5. Holden
  6. Volkswagen Golf (Rabbit)/Jetta Mazda3 Saturn Astra Those would be my top choices.
  7. Sorry about the problems! My girlfriend's (Heather) Intrepid (with 2.7L enigine) as the the low oil pressure light come on at virtually every stop, but never stalls, shudders, or lurches to my knowledge, and I have driven it more than just several times. It does burn oil though. Hers has approximately 112,000 odd miles on it.

    08 STS

I'd love to experience the STS, but since I haven't, I can only say that I absolutely love its profile and rear 3/4 view.
  9. Which reminds me. Has anyone other than myself crammed themselves into the third row of the Dodge Journey? Talk about a cramped pit of hell! The Dodge Caravan/Plymouth Voyager (like my girlfriend's mom has) is/was infinitely more practical, comfortable, and useful than the tight, claustrophic and virtually useless last row of the Journey. Once when my Plymouth Breeze was in the shop for a couple of days, the dealership gave me a new at the time 2006 Dodge Caravan. It drove nicely, was quiet, and you know what? I'm the 21 year old that WOULD DRIVE A MINIVAN!
  10. I sure hope that Chrysler's "planned" upgrades on these vehicles' interiors comes to fruitition!
  11. Daimler did do Chrysler wrong. They were fine and in the 1990's the MOST profitable automaker in existence. Take that Porsche! Damn Bob Eaton and Schrempp for destroying a proud American enterprise.
  12. Hey, I just had to share that I averaged nearly 31 miles per gallon with my last tank of fuel in my Volkswagen. That's the best yet. 30.5 MPG!
  13. Hooray for an ever more Orwellian world.
  14. I do believe that Buick ought to have a rear wheel drive flagship of somesort. Whether or not it's full size is another thing, but should be midsize to larger. Then so technically Vauxhall should be developing it's own products like Saturn USED to even though it took GM money to found Saturn Corporation and not pestering GM for resources? GM's home page lists Vauxhall as merely a brand JUST LIKE Buick. GM purchased Vauxhall way back when around 1925. Vauxhall is no more special than SAAB as far as being it's "own company" Vauxhall doesn't even have any unique products of it's own. Not since around the 1970's. They're either German GM developed rebadged imported Opels or rebadged imported Australian GM Holdens. Now Saturns are rebadged imported German GM Opels and restyled/rebadged North American GM products. yay for Kool Aid
  15. I swear somewhere in Road and Track (one of the mags anyway) I read that the 2.0T was a development of the old 1.8T. They both feature a cast iron block (though so does the 2.5L I-5 in the Mk. V's) but with the addition of direct fuel injection, they had to delete one of the extra valves present in the 1.8T engine (which is still sold in Europe by the way). Volkswagen did have an FSI 2.0L four without the turbocharger in Europe, and I believe it's rated at around 140 hp or something. but I don't know if it is still available.
  16. I would be more interested in the G8 if it came with a manual transmission. The Commodore offers a manual with the V6, why not here????
  17. I'd want a manual V6 G8 the most, with leather and the goodies of course.
  18. Yes! With a manual, I would consider a Malibu, four doors or not. The transmission is my most important option. Coupled to a 4 cylinder or even a light pressure turbo four, the mileage would definitely be improved, and it would appeal to slightly more enthusiast types that like to shift such as myself.
  19. Joyeux Anniversaire!
  20. Thank you very much. Heather is an incredibly generous young woman with a very sweet demeanour.
  21. Wow on that interior. Chrysler used to be my abolute favourite company in the 1990's for the styling and general appearance of their products, but with GM's recent onslaught, plus upcoming products, I believe we may have a new "contender" (even though yes, I drive a VW). Well, at least until Chrysler creates gorgeous and stunning again! General Motors newest products and concepts such as that incredible Buick Invicta concept have shown me what American autocompanies are really capable of. I just hope that GM ends up bringing out a new V8 for Cadillac on not just rely on corporate brother Chevrolet for its V8 needs. Sure, effiency is a concern, but without a V8 and all placed on deck to make Cadillac the complete star and beacon of hope for GM, then I fear that Cadillac won't be quite ready to take on the world in the manner that GM (and the rest of us) hope it will. I say this because, Does anyone think the premiere European luxury brands will ever abandon their V8's is appropriate models?
  22. I read that too! And I have to say, then what the heck is that emblem supposed to be then? A silver X in a red box? Buick and Pontiac deserve to stay. So did Olds, but that's beating a dead horse. They should just call Saturn Opel and get it over with.
  23. I suppose it would be the Japanese who would be able to make carbon fibre a more um, applicable in mainstream applications. This would definitely help in chassis rigidity/weight and efficiency concerns.
  24. DSG isn't available on the Golf/Rabbit or regular (2.5L) Jettas. The GTI and GLI models have it available in lieu of their standard manual transmissions AND it's available with the TDI engines. So far, the 5-cylinder does not have it as an option. My Golf (Rabbit) is a 2008 and I have the manual, but the automatic transmission was the conventional 6-speed torque-converter Tiptronic transmission. Amazing that the Golf got top praise from Consumer Reports even though I don't care what they say. As far as the issue of fuel efficiency is concerned, once Volkswagen gets the urea injection diesels, that'll show the Prius how to get the best fuel efficiency the best and simplest manner possible.
