Posting for Sixty8panther/Silvester...

Recommended Posts

Julie and Silvester have been in the hospital since this A.M., Julie is doing fine as is Silvester, he wanted me to post in here for him when I got home from work. Most recent update from Sly about half an hour ago was

"F$#% Amelia is stuck after Julie did a lot of pushing, her heartrate was going crazy, from 74-205bpm. @ 6:49pm she was rushed into the O.R. for C-section"

I'm sure by now Silvester is the proud parent of not just one girl, but two!

I'll keep you guys updated as soon as I hear any info!

Congrats Sly!!! :AH-HA_wink:

Thank You, one and all!

I did drop a hint to S.Penguin to post a quick thread saying it was finally time.

Thanx Doode!

D.F. & J.C. (Dodge-Bro. G/F, not Jesus) :P were very nice to stop by & bring

lots of presents, including a potted flower that brightened up our room very

nicely. So that was very much appreciated. Even though our other friends,

their hyper toddler & 16month old twins ended up over shadowing D.F.J.C.'s

visit and I apologize for that.

I've gotta run back to the hospital but I'll give you guys the cliff notes:

After being told for the past few months that she would certainly arrive two,

maybe three weeks earlier than her official November 7th due date, our

daughter Amelia Mary Humaj was born on EXACTLY her due date, at 19:11

military time, so in other words Nov. 7th, 2008 @ 7:17pm.

She weighed in at 3325 grams, which translates to 7lbs. 5oz. & she was

20.25" long. Fantastic reflexes, strong and quite well adjusted.

After over 13 hours of labor when Amelia's heart-rate was fluctuating at

dangerous levels the decision was made to to a Cesarean section. Lowell

General Hospital is in the top 5% of all hospitals nationwide for their

birthing & maternity department. so I'm confident all the right decisions

were made. Now 28 hours later Juile is recovering nicely and Amelia was

said by several nurses and doctors to be an all around fantastic, healthy

baby... that's 2-for-2 since Sofia was also the exact same way.

It's funny how often I spend hours daydreaming of winning the lottery &

blowing it all on 1933 Cadillac V-16 dual cowl phaetons, '59 Buick Electra

hardtops, any-&-every pre-war Pontiac and '69 Camaro COPO-clones...

& yet when push comes to shove, sitting there dressed in scrubs, feeling

helpless in the operating room; money & all material possessions meant

nothing, I just wanted both of them to be okay. My adrenaline was going

wild, I could not stop shaking. But, all is well that ends well.

I'll post more photos soon, perhaps DF & Jessi can post a few of the ones

they took, it will prob. be a few days before I have the luxury of

downloading mine & Julie's digital cameras, but here's a quick photograh

of 'Melia taken with my crappy cell-phone camera, in this photo she's only

about 45min. old. She's way cuter now. :P

Thanks again to all, catch you on the flip side.

:jump: Quick Update:

Mom & baby are both fine, we've been told by several nurses

and a couple relatives that she is one of the most "perfect"

babies they've ever seen... complexion, eyes, round face etc.

Much of that has to do with the fact that she was delivered

via. Cesarean section, & prob. that my looks had little to do

with her genes. :P

Amelia and Julie should both be coming home tomorrow... and

sometime soon you guys will be inundated with a dozen baby

pictures. I'll try to keep it minimal. :)

Well, off to work. :wavey:

So...

When does she get her first 'slightly used' GM car?

:D

I like the way you think FoG!

Well... she'll be coming home in a RWD, V8 powered, six-window

2+2 coupe with non-existent B-pillars. That's a great start if you

ask me, and the way Sofia is obsessed with air-cooled Beetles,

who knows maybe Amelia will be into Corvairs Mozas, 'cause I'm

still considering making one into my daily driver just in case fuel

prices don't stay reasonable.

Here's how to start her early:

You: "What's a Toyota, honey?"

Amelia: "Yucky! :yuck:"

You: "That's Daddy's girl..."

Lamar:

LOL, true dat. I'm pretty sure if I just let nature

take its course, and expose both the girls to

enough REAL cars at the local cruise nights etc.

then they'll both know what does and does NOT

pass for acceptable transportation.

I gotta post the photo from this summer where

Sofia was gawking at a Factory-5 Shelby Cobra

427 Roadster and the owner, a gentleman who

looked as if he might be a grandfather himself,

asked her if she's like to sit inside... So at age

four she's got a photograph sitting behind the

wheel of a car that fof the most of my parent's

lifetime held the record for the 0-100-0mph.

Sofia used to alway say she loved "Beelte cars"

to which I always said Yes, me too, mostly the

classic ones or only the ones that do not ever

need a water pump.

Now, past few months, esp. since this year's

summer-time car show season where she saw

a several 1950s & 1960s Volkswagen Beetles,

when she notices a "Concept-1" FWD, water

cooled Beetle she says how it would be even

cooler if it was an "OLD" Beetle car

because. (insert my logic here)

Like the other day she said the older ones are

better than the new ones becuse of all the

shiny metal bumpers and easy to fix since they

don't drink water.

A year ago she'd have just responded "I like

the old Beetle cars AND I also like the NEW

ones too"

Julie calls this my "Brainwashing" :smilewide:

Amelia will be easier to teach the ways of

"T1GH+ WH!P$" since her big sister will be

well versed in the ways of the RWD, simplistic

superiority of pushrod-V8s, the beauty &

grace of (pillarless) hardtops & the awesome

strength of cars with steel spines. (BOF)

----

Balthazar:

I know, I know... it's gonna be interesting.

By the time they are in high school I shall

have to polish my 12 gauge on the front

porch on a daily basis, staring down any

unsavory boys driving past the house in

Anut Jamima 10-minute Civics.

Haaha-ha, O.B. :P

With her appetite, love of sleep & a few facial features

I'm told by most that her pedigree is unquestionable.

Mom & baby are home from the hospital as of last night

and all is well.... I remember Sofia sleeping a LOT as an

infant, I know that's hat babies do, but Amelia is just on

whole 'nother level!

Like Julie likes to say, "Sleeping is her super-power!"

Congrats Sixty8... there's nothing better than being a father (well, at least in my opinion!!), no matter how many you bring in to this world. She's a cutie-pie alright!

Here's how to start her early:

Amelia: "Yucky! :yuck:"

You: "That's Daddy's girl..."

Well, substitute "honey" with "buddy" and "girl" with "little guy" and you pretty much have the routine that me & my 3 year-old son 'Justin' go through while drivng on the road. He'll also "joke" around by asking me what my favorite brand is and than, regardless of what I say, he replies, "No it isn't - yucky Toyotas are your favorite cars!", all the while laughing as hard as he can.

I don't know if little boys still like Hot Wheels--I know I did from about age 2 on-- but I'm surprised HW doesn't have a Camry, Corolla, Prius, Tundra, Sienna, Highlander, etc in their line these days--how about a Hybrid gift set for the kids? :)
