FCA blows, to me. They just don't make anything I would even consider right now. The Hellcats are suuuuper gnarly and all but that's about it. Everything seems old or the new stuff seems too Fiat. The new Alfa sedan looks beautiful but I doubt there is an Alfa dealership within 100 miles of me. Probably more like 250-300 miles north, around Chicago.

Okay, check that. I'd consider a Grand Cherokee and the new Compass? Patriot? Whichever one was just shown off.

FCA should do an Alfa Romeo version of the Pacifica with a 3.0 V6 turbo to boost sales.  The problem FCA has is not enough Alfas, they only sold 23 cars, that tells me they should spend every last dollar they have to make about 10 new products for Alfa Romeo.

The sales just prove that Alfa should have been left in the history books, the money stolen from the US units should have gone back into those divisions products. ALFA and FIAT will be the death of FCA.

I like the Renegade, but I cannot kid myself into actually thinking I would drop coin for one.

GT350 R would wildly Trump a hellcat....by like a hundred to one or better for me....so in real world terms...nahh.....would rather have a plain Shelby than a hellcat, actually.

Used Charger R/T my 23 year old son and I looked at a little while back, 25 grand, decent miles....but car did not feel well put together.

There is a reason Charger is one of the fastest depreciating passenger cars sold in North America.

Alfa sedan is nice to look at, and would be great if you were in Italy where people actually understood the car.  As it is, destined to be a repair and depreciation magnet.  They sell in stupidly small numbers also.

+1 to everything you posted. And throw the ZL1 in with the Shelby and Hellcat and I'd easily take that as well. I'd likely take a Chevy SS over a Charger Hellcat too.

The SS is an interesting exercise in less is more.  A hellcat might be fun at getting attention at a local car show....but pulling up next to a greasy spoon cafe in rural Kansas with the SS and ahving people slowly realize what it is would be loads more fun.

Plus the SS in every detail feels so much more like a real car, right down to the difference in the click the seat belt makes when you latch it. 

Chevy, more than any other mainstream car maker, has its act together IMHO.  Not that I am dissing Ford....I love the efforts Ford is making.  Fiesta has a ton of options and packages, and is an attractive little car.  Focus is dated, but still really competitive in a wildly tough segment.  Mustang is in some ways the best Mustang they have built to date, and given the number of cool stangs they have done over the years, that is saying something.

The Aston Martinish styling on the Fusion is aging very well IMHO, and will still look good ten years from now.

And my ##$%%  ## $%^ the trucks are wonderful from Ford also...who would have thought we would have a product like the Raptor?

Very sorry in a way that the Chrysler/Plymouth?dodge that I loved as a kid is not longer with us....it started going away in the early 1970's and in some ways hasn't been back since.

The K car might have saved them, but it isn't exactly a bright moment in American automotive history!

Look at VW. So much for the notion that they weren't  long for this market, or should be replaced with a different brand. Golf Sportwagen sales were up over 200%.

These sales increases are being bolstered by models that aren't even new. Aside from the Alltrak, the rest of their line is carry over. And in fact, some of their trims have been culled, creating less options.

These numbers will continue to grow in the coming months as the Atlas comes out, the new Tiguan hits our shores, and the CC is replaced. Passat and Jetta aren't terribly far from replacing either. Throw in the EV models they are working on, and possibly even a truck in the coming years, and it is more than possible they can rebound from Dieselgate and continue to be successful and grow in the future. They just have to take the right steps. It is not a time for them to be timid.

I personally never thought that VW was doomed in this market...  just hoped they were going out of business.  Them and every other foreign company.  But never doubt the stupidity of the American people.  Dumb asses somehow elected Trump thinking that a Billionaire actually gave a shit about their finances

On the contrary, we need robust competition in the automotive market to have each car maker bring us their best.  Right now Lexus, Acura, BMW and the like are a bit on the defensive IMHO in terms of product in the luxury market.

I need them to bring better product so GM improves our current lineup even further....Adam Smith got a few things right...
