    Agree, both were very fulfilling and allows me to do so much around the house without paying someone else. Yes to some Trade school is a dirty word, but much like some of my nieces and nephews, College was not for them and Trade School is what gave them a decent paying job. I agree with Personal responsibility, but also I hold the GOV accountable for this failure. Do we really need to spend a half a trillion on Defense or can we afford to take say 50 Billion and pay our teachers properly and hold them to a proper level of academic excellence with bonuses much like the private sector for helping kids to learn and exceed standards? Damn Millennials, they need to learn from our European Ancestors. I grew up in a strict German household with high standards for respect for my elders. Working out to be healthy and strong to defend our country, USA and when I saw my parents, grandparents, Aunts, Uncles drink, there was no hush hush, they explained it as an adult beverage, I got a sip to taste and understand what it was about as with all questions. Enough info to satisfy my curiosity. Open, clear communication as a kid, I did it with my own and they both graduated from college and are successful. So no reason to make Alcohol evil, but more about communicate what it is and what it is about. Moderation in Everything.

    So True, they are in a depression now with a huge glut of production. I see things falling apart over the next 10 years.

    Agree, Trade school is a far better choice for some than college. Bigger issue is that in the 70's we had career counselors and you had to test and see what interest and skill sets you had that would allow you to best be able to have a successful life. I do not find these in schools today so our school system FAILS our own students by not helping to guide them. Now I DO HOLD the PARENTS accountable for also recognizing the skills and smarts of their own kids to guide them in a solid direction but then you need the schools to help mold and continue to support the kids. The Kids are not getting the help they need from home or our public schools to succeed. Also for those that can afford private schools great, but that is not for everyone nor can we afford to go to a private school system in the US as this truly brings in a cast system. Public schools we need to be reinvesting in and paying far better wages to teachers so we can capture some of the brightest minds in molding and growing our future workers of America.

BP has opened talks with all global automakers to about offering EV charging stations at it's global network of service stations, Chief Executive Bob Dudley told Reuters on Tuesday. The BP CEO says the change by governments in banning ICE auto's and the move to EV's will threaten the traditional ICE service station and they will die if they do not change to support the future needs of customers. BP is looking to take a slice of this growing market early in comparison to their competition. The only other Oil Company to do this is their Rival Royal Dutch Shell who has started their own pilot program in select locations where EV's are already making up a noticeable share of the auto's being driven. BP is estimating that a minimum of a 100 million EV's will be on the roads by 2035 up from the 1.2 million globally in 2015. Noticeable is that both Shell and BP have lagged behind in adding solar and wind as renewable energy suppliers to their portfolio as the shift begins away from oil. Both BP and Shell are using venture capital funds to invest in new start ups that can cover the Wind / Solar energy markets as well as EV charging infrastructure. BP will be reining in spending to control and make sure they are profitable at a sustained $30-$50 a barrel oil price over the foreseeable future. BP's CEO says he does not see any profitable play in the U.S. Shale industry for them compared to Exxonmobil, Chevron and Shell who are the 3 largest players in that market. BP is one of the largest players in Shale Natural Gas in Argentina as they look to grow their world wide shipping and sales for both CNG and LNG. Seattle in moving forward to address climate change is using their easement rights all over the city to expand their charging program. Seattle reserves the first 8 feet around your property as an easement that they can come on and pretty much do anything they want. With Seattle DOT EVCROW program, seattle is hoping to push beyond the few thousand charging stations around the city and make it 10's of thousands of charging stations by allowing public and private EV charging infrastructure providers to install EV charging stations on non-residential streets / properties throughout the city to expand the ability for charging of EV / Plug-in Hybrids. The goal is to have 30% plus of all registered auto's to be EV's by 2030. This Electric Vehicle Charging in the public right of way pilot program (EVCROW) is about speeding up the process and addressing the complexity to implement EV chargers everywhere. This program will run till July18th 2018 allowing folks to more easily install EV chargers and the City can see how they can streamline and simplify the installation and use of EV chargers. It looks like people could end up with public chargers on their property that faces the streets so others can charge up. While I am a huge EV fan, not sure I like the city taking over and using my private property as a charge station. What do you think? Seattle DOT Story

    Agreed, have a Mongolian family that are friends, both their kids know Mongolain, Russian, both dialects of Chinese, Korean and Japanese. The son graduated from High School with his AA fully transferable to the UW here, he then went there and graduated 2 years later with my wife. He got two degrees, bachelors in Business from their Foster Business school and a Bachelor's in accounting. His senior year, he got paid by a CPA firm to sign with them. All he had to do was graduate, he now just finished passing his CPA exams for the state. 22 years old, dual degree and making $100K a year at this CPA firm. He just got pre-approved for a $500K mortgage loan and is now looking for a house to move his parents, sister and him into. His sister is in the same program at Highschool and is going to follow in his same footsteps. Crazy smart kids but also driven to succeed. Way more driven than most kids today. America offers so much, yet so many kids are not taking advantage of grabbing the golden tickets that are there as it is too much work as I hear them complain about.

    Yes we have totally lost the art of how to teach our kids to actually think outside the box in how to build / make things. Wood Shop, Pottery Shop, Auto Shop all taught troubleshooting and forced people to think about how to fix mistakes, natural issues, etc. Now with teaching to the test, we have given up how to think about how to actually do things differently. Troubleshooting skills are learned in these types of classes and now it seems to be lost to the easiest way to test out and minimal teaching by teachers. SAD!

    OK, Gotta get focused on work, but I am back to Dodge, thinking mid 60's Polara as that seems to fit this hood design. 1964 Dodge Polara which would cover the front holes with Polara. Would be awesome if Dodge brought back the Barracuda Name plate. This would be awesome as a wicked fast EV! Found these concepts which are cool! Both are listed as 2016 Barracuda SRT Concepts.

    Yup Mopar vibe from late 60's or early 70's maybe. For some weird reason it also gives me a truck vib. Finding some similarities in my search to the 1970's AMC AMX auto. More I look, this is looking like an aftermarket performance hood for the 1980's AMC AMX or Eagle maybe.

    For GM, I agree WTF is up with Sales, Main thing I can think of is that I have not seen any real marketing for GM auto's. I do not have TV in the traditional sense as I use HULU, VUDU and Netflix and so I see near ZERO commercials. Yet with that said, I also hardly seen any auto ads on my smartphone, computer or in the new streaming services. I believe GM is still stuck in the past of only advertising in regular TV and old style magazines and newspapers. GM needs to get with the times of Google and Bing and advertise through the new media's.

    We'll said, the days of full size station wagons like the Oldsmobile Delta 98 and Buick Roadmaster station wagon are gone. Growing up doing yearly trips in our station wagons and pulling a trailer or boat was fond memories for me, but as we met our relatives in Missouri and saw everyone in Suburbans and how much more space and use they were, my family converted over and I myself only ever owned one car in my first year out of college before I saved up and bought my 1994 Suburban and never looked back. I still have my first Suburban to this day and it drives awesome. Yes I have changed out the coils in front, lift kit and stiffened up the suspension so it really rides nice with a big 402 V8. Yea, not the best on gas mileage but then I could care less about that and more about the utility of my SUV and the fun performance factor that I built into it. I Do NOT miss the passing of cars as engineering has learned how to put the same fun factor into CUV/SUV's. I honestly see a limited market for sedans and coupes in the future as we move towards Hybrids and EV's and people enjoy the tuned driving of these said auto's. I think 90% of people are clueless about the platforms that the auto's are built on and as we move to autonomous auto's it will be moot for all but the handful of us enthusiasts. Enjoy your CUV/SUV and plan to buy your performance auto that will be the play toy for weekends and nights out for date night. I have all of these and have used them many times over my life. Sadly my son does not have the interest in auto's that I grew up with, I figure some day all my tools will get sold off in a garage sale when I am very old or dead. I hope that my son will find the passion some day, but only time will tell.

    Maybe Tesla might Buy MB and make them a division of Tesla once Tesla stock surpasses MB! NOT, Musk would never own an ICE company as he is all about the Solar / EV!

    Possibly depending on the person driving, their skills and your idea of what Handling means in regards to each auto. My Trailblazer SS AWD handles much better than the Taurus, Fusion and Focus. My skill as an experienced racer puts me even higher than most people driving my TB. All auto's are subjective to the type of auto it is and the driver and so many other things. So it is hard to say an Apple is better than an Orange. This is a moving goal post trying to compare CUV's to Cars and depending on the experience of the driver.

    Love that GM has scaled back selling to rental companies, helps to keep residual value up on used auto's.

    Love web page time back machine, July has the same deals as august, so you have zero percent financing, or $200 a month lease or $3,000 dollars cash deals. Looking at local dealerships in washington state here, they must also have some additional dealer incentives as locally they are offering Finance or Lease with additional $3K off, so I figure they must have extra room to really move the Rav 4. Is there a refresh coming that I am not aware of?

    I figured back in the spring that we would see a change over to CUV / SUV's and that seems to have played out. Cars are the dying dinosaurs and CUV's are the new Mini van with SUV's for those that can still afford the large gas drinking monsters. Just think, once we get the VOLT powertrain into CUV's and the Camaro, you can have a fun filled road auto that sips fuel. I can see Jag's sales really take off once they have EV and Hybrid in their CUV lineup.

    Nissan, Mazda and Honda are all down. So I think everyone is hurting, just a few not as bad as the rest.

    I totally get that and understand that and if you take the names I have used and run them through translation software, they are all positive words that could and should be used to sell the auto's world wide. Alphanumerics are a Lemmings / Lazy Ass way to deal with global auto sales. People will buy named auto's as long as the book work is done to make sure the translation of the word does not insult or be negative in another's native tongue.

    Thank you for posting, this was an interesting read and confirms my feeling that half of the reservations are probably canceled and at best maybe 40-60,000 are left on the books. Only die hard fans or people who think they can flip for a profit will stick with buying one. And this just proves the BOLT that much better of a deal and versatile auto compared to the Tesla 3. 1873 BOLT's werre sold last month. August every state in the nation will have them, so be interesting to see how many get sold.
