...slow drivers... ...crappy weather... ...bumpy streets... ...cole slaw... ...that is about it...

The media wants us to become as un-patriotic as possible, and wants us to be so "correct", hell I can't even say Merry Christmas any-more. This is what the world wants, or they want us the believe we should want or we are close minded. Close minded my a$$, it is freedom. The folks want to take away rights, and make us into some "perfect" world, they want us to not be proud of our county and what we have done and hate it. Including American products.
-
No it would make it worse. Some people won't let this happen and I will be one of them. The less goverment touches the better.

I have never blamed Toyota except for building cars that lack any sort of personality. I blame Toyota for trying to talk out of both sides of there mouth with the "green" Prius (which isn't that green at all...) and the "tough" Tundra. It can't be all things to all people, they keep building cars that actually are worse than the previous generation look at the Camry's of the world. The 02-06 was by far a better quality car many agree and they cheapend them again on the 07-up models. Toyota wants to be as American as Chevrolet, that bothers me. It also bothers me that when we needed Detriot to help fight a war they were here for us. Now it is our time to help them. People have lost pride in our country and our products, the new Malibu is a product GM and America should be proud off. No doubt. Toyota's are often over-rated by the press and the car rags and really the quality gap that the domestics did have, has been closed. Toyota by default isn't better as many want you too beleive. Don't get me wrong GM made mistakes, but buying American is neither a dem or republican thing it is AMERICAN. So to all the forigen car drivers out there, you can stick it. I don't like Toyota because they are so over-rated and Honda/Nissan products are better and people still think Toyota is better.
-
Frankly there is some truth in that. I do find it sad and will keep standing by GM, we need to make buying American cool again.
-
Poor bastards they prolly figured with all the bads new about the Domestic's it would help them it might have some but not that much. I am glad they can feel some pain too.

Everyone even "perfect" Toyota is hurting...

Senate Banking Chairman Says Wagoner Should Step Aside
gm4life replied to gmcbob's topic in General Motors
No don't be fooled it ws Dodd and Frank too... As for the topic at hand Dodd can go get a real job along with most of the other goof-balls in that room. Wagoner has done lots of hard things most CEO's haven't had too do. I give him alot of credit. As for the merger with Chrysler Dodd that just wouldn't work so go f*ck yourself. I belief a merger would be a disaster. -

I agree with you Moltar I like the new one better but the two door Rubicon is more my speed. Also the I-6's were sweet.

GM asks Congress to kickstart its heart with ambitious plan
gm4life replied to Intrepidation's topic in General Motors
I agree Moltar and this isn't a political thing is about supporting American compaines. Agree or not on how GM gets to the point of becoming competitive we all want whats best for the General and lets hope that happens. Personally I have two cars made in Canada that doesn't bother me because it is supporting an American company. If there ever was a world war again and we needed the car plants to help out I wonder whose side Toyota would be on... Gee I wonder... I know where Ford, GM and Chrylser would stand. It is about where my money is going and I send enough money over-sea's as it is. -
If Pontiac gets a verison of this and it looks this good in a different way I might want one. I really like this thing. SMK I agree with you. How that happend is beyond me. As for Pontiac they need some performance stuff too and shouldn't pass much above 40K either, but dip into the teens unlike Buick starting in the low 20's.
-
Great read. Pontiac can be that division again I mean they are getting a G8 GXP, G8 ST and Solstice Coupe that is pretty maverickish. I agree bring the names back and build the cars right. Even if they remain some FWD and RWD that is fine but give them the styling/technology they need DI, and six speed automatics would be a great start.

GM asks Congress to kickstart its heart with ambitious plan
gm4life replied to Intrepidation's topic in General Motors
SMK you are right Saab, Saturn and Hummer need to go now and they need to go through with all of this bailout or not because if not it is chapter 11 and these ideas will be a good way of getting back to becoming profitable and competitive. The UAW needs to give up even more and become competitive with Toyota in American before GM runs out of dough. Rick needs to work for a dollar and Hummer should be starved of product. Just get rid of them already. -

Yup and that is sad. The Camry no matter where it is made is not American, Toyota is a FORIGEN COMPANY. Can't people figure that out. -
Thanks for the information. I am very glad you choice the features you did, I think you folks will love the Mini. You are getting a huge upgrade going from a Prius to a Mini that is a BIG deal. I knew someone who had a Cooper with a stick and loved it with the checkered roof but he traded on a GTI a few months ago.

Which opens the door for America. I doubt Pontiac is going anywhere. -

Which is why I thnk we see some rebages like a compact/small car a unique G6 and performance RWD models like G8 and Solstice. I don't think the plan includes half backed Vibes and Azteks. -

Pontiac will be around I and would guess some changes like no Vibe and Torrent. I think a FWD G6 for volume possibly a smaller sporty FWD car along with a Solstice and G8 would make for a good line-up. I think Pontiac will be saved. -
I agree with nearly all of it. Good piece. We will see what Congress will do.
-
Good idea. I would have just drive the Malibu Hybrid and brought a Volt along as well. I wouldn't use a car with a Volt underneath and a Cruze body it would confuse people becuase not everyone understands car like us. Either way driving is a great choice. I do like Rick despite what some folks say.

Automaker aid bill doesn’t have needed votes
gm4life replied to Oracle of Delphi's topic in General Motors
Can't say I am suprised Ford is sitting the best money wise, product wise it would be GM by far. I can see both sides, I really don't care what way they go if chapter 11 is better for them go for it. They will come back they must come back. Chrysler doesn't have the products or the money they are the big loser. Sorry to say but the Sebring, Caliber and PT Cruiser aren't going to cut it. GM if they restructed under chapter 11 might have more power to be more competitive quicker. GM has a Cruze, Volt, LaCrosse, refreshed G6, G3, G8 GXP, G8 ST, Solstice Coupe, Camaro, Equinox, and Terrain all coming down the pike soon what does Chrysler have? Ford has the new Fusion/Milan and Hybrid verisons and the Mustang. Chrysler hasn't got jack... I would be sad to see anyone go but it will prolly be Chrysler. -
GM Studies Killing Saab, Saturn, Pontiac
gm4life replied to Oracle of Delphi's topic in General Motors
I totally agree, now the Enclave and Lucerne are nice though... I did consider an Enclave when I got my Torrent but it was a to pricey and a little larger than I wanted. That is why Pontiac must hang around, a little more BMW/Mini in the mix would be great for them. -
I saw it and she did have the "oh sh*t look" that lady is a goon why the dems picked her when they had people much more skilled is beyond me. On a side note I am scared of her, and what she can do. Reed was a much better choice.

Well, well, well Toyota how does this feel? Honestly this is bad because they had the ZERO deal and with the domestic industry on the rocks they should have faired better than this... But what does this prove even the do no wrong green Toyota can't take HUGE sales hits. I am going to sleep well tonight, look at Prius, Camry and Turd sales!
