  1. Two words...Dodge Challenger.
  2. All I had to do was PM Fly for a new title...
  3. Truly a sight for sore eyes these days, between gas prices, CAFE and all this other bull$h! going on with our economy....its nice to see a legend reborn and ready to prowl the streets. Hopefully it wont be a short stay.
  4. Well I've never been a "high volume" poster, but I do come here everyday to see what's going on in the automotive world as well as with the C&G family. I will have to agree with those that have said it already, since Fly and Ninety Eight left, things have slowed quite a bit. Also I may have missed a big fight in a thread somewhere, but where the hell is BV??
  5. @ this thread....
  6. lol...I guess gas prices don't affect everyone....
  7. 87 Octane is already around $4.30 a gallon here in some areas, I say at it's peek we're looking at $5.00 even for 87. Which means $100 fill up for the Riv, if I run it to empty.
  8. Sweet collection, I'd like to see some closeups if possible
  9. It truly was one of the most unsettling things I've ever seen up close, the scary thing is, this man who was driving didn't even slow down, he hit them full on at an estimated 30-40 MPH....The damage to the car shows the force behind the accident, the mere fact they both survived the initial impact is amazing. Obviously I don't know if they survived through the night, but I'll keep you posted if I hear anything.
  10. I actually just got off the phone with Progressive Insurance regarding the accident. Being the only eye witness, they wanted a statement from me. I don't know why they needed a statement though, as I gave an official signed statement to the Police last night. Plus they must have gotten my information from the police as they are the only one's I gave my name and phone number to. So now they have a second statement, and my address in case they need further information. Hopefully I wont have to deal with this issue any further, I hope they can make a case based on my statements and leave me alone...lol.
  11. Last night while on my way to see a friend, I stopped off to fill up my Riv. After spending $40 to fill up from ABOVE a half tank, I proceeded north on Route 100 ( also known as Central Park Avenue) anyway about a mile up the road, I was cruising in the right lane at about 35MPH, it was dark out and raining, I had my wipers on. Suddenly, a dark blue '91 Accord pulls out of a parking lot, nearly takes the front of my Riv off, and pulls out into the road. He begins to gain some speed, at this point I had flashed him my high beams and was racing to catch up to him to curse him out. Just as I was catching up to him, I noticed two people crossing the road up ahead, and the Accord speeding right toward them....the next thing I know....BOOM, he hit the pedestrians ( he never even hit the brakes before impact) I saw and umbrella go flying and then a woman fly over the roof and crash down onto the trunk lid. The other victim I could not see. At this point I proceeded to block off the lane, put on my flashers and asked the woman on the trunk if she was ok. The driver then got out and was obviously panicked. I began cursing him out for nearly crashing into me and now running down 2 people. I called 911 and gave them the location of the accident and continued to close off the street with my car until the police and EMT's arrived. I then pulled off to the shoulder and got out of my car. At this point I noticed that the second pedestrian's feet were laying on the cowl and the rest of him was inside the car. He had gone through the windshield. The roof was buckled and smashed in, and the man had to be cut out of the car with the jaws of life. The A pillars were cut and the roof peeled back. Apparently both victims were alive, but pretty f@#ked up. I was then asked to go down to the Police station to make a statement as I was the eye witness who saw the entire thing happen. Apparently the driver may have been on his cell phone at the time of the accident, as he had a call listed on the phone around the time of the accident. But unfortunately, according to the way the law is written, without the people crossing in a crosswalk, they cant press charges on the driver for reckless driving. They're going to try to get him for being on the cell phone and I suppose if one or both of the victims die, charges will be made...but at this point I think the only thing that will happen is a lawsuit by the victims. I also found out while at the Police station, that the couple who was hit, were on their first date together! But anyway, I'm sorry to see two people get hit like that, but yet at the same time I'm glad I didn't have the front of my car taken off when this guy cut me off coming out of the parking lot.
  12. By some miracle they have come down...I paid $3.85 for 87 last night versus $3.89 last weekend.....
  13. I've gone well over 100 in many cars, but most of my cars only had speedo's that went up to 85. In my '78 98 I had to needle pinned bellow the instrument cluster out of sight...it looked as if there was no needle at all. Same goes for my Delta 88, despite only being a 3 speed, they can go way over 100, I was clocked at 110 in my 98 at 2am one night. I've gone around 130 in an RSX type S, about 140 in an '85 Monte Carlo SS with a worked 383 under the hood. It still had juice, but at that speed the car felt like it was going to fall apart, and did not feel safe, so I let off. I've only taking my Riv to about 110 at the most.
  14. This passed Saturday ( the last time I put gas in my car) 87 octane was $3.89, with 93 octane ON SALE at $4.05 a gallon.....I'll be filling up tomorrow and I'll update the figures, as they have been going up by 10 cents every couple days. No doubt it's hit $4.00 for 87 by now...
  15. Luckily no one was hurt, like yourself or your girlfriend....but the poor cars
  16. Was she a Milf?
  17. Pantera-5 Minutes Alone.
  18. I suck at this trivia apparently...I haven't a clue who half of these bands are
  19. Alice In Chains-Bleed the Freak.
  20. I've locked many a key in my cars before...beginning with my '78 98...I locked them in the trunk. So without having a remote trunk release or fold down rear seat...what is a 17 year old to do....why take a screwdriver and hammer to the trunk lock cylinder needless to say, I got the key out, and my trunk key became a flathead screw driver from then on. Since then I've locked my keys in the ignition on other cars, but GM used this cheap foam type weather stripping on older cars and like you describe with the Cutlass, I was able to unlock my doors within 30 seconds with a clothes hanger....just make a little loop and slide it between the door and the body, put it over the lock and pull up....kinda scary how easy it is to break into...and just goes to show how dumb the thieves were that stole Capriceman's car...breaking glass and whatnot
