Well.. Id say Ford has the bigger pressures! Mark Fields was responsible for some of the most profitable years in Ford's history actually. But...Fields was fired... Fields traveled to Silicon Valley to see what is happening there to at least emulate Silicon Valley thoughts over at Dearborn, even acquired or partnered up with Silicon Valley companies to not fall behind Silicon Valley thoughts...even recruited Silicon Valley philosophers...yet got fired because New York Wallstreet sharks have no trust in the Detroit boys what so ever. Tesla is a Silicon Valley giant...investors dont ask questions...honestly...I dont think they ever will ask questions in the same way those same investors never asked questions on Detroit when Detroit was King of the Technology hill in America once upon a time ago pre-2008!!!

I failed to acknowledge this was a report from CR... Although I wont change my stance on what I wrote....I agree with this totally... I HATE CR... (that emoticon will have to do as there are none for CR...and because while Toyota was recalling their garbage...oil sludged Camrys, cracked and rusted pick-up truck frames, unintended accleration Lexus...CR STILL kept on recommending shytty Toyotas!) Crappy reporting on ANYTHING they test...not only cars...Just utter bullshyte!

Quick Spin: My Test of the Chevy Bolt
oldshurst442 replied to Cmicasa the Great's topic in Chevrolet
For a 40 000 dollar Chevrolet that is principally a high tech machine...Id say the Bolt is pretty great in how GM did the interior. Material wise, tolerance wise... Id say even better than how Tesla did theirs in relation to the Tesla's 70 000 dollar price tag. In short, I think the Bolt does a better job representing its 40 000 dollar price tag on the interior than Tesla does (on the interior) representing the Model S' 70 000 dollar price tag. That is just my humble opinion. And yes I have experience with a Tesla Model S. P85D to be exact. No...not the fully full-on luxury optioned one...but the more or less basic interior options... My business partner owns one. I see it daily. I drive it on occasion for shytes and giggles. I LOVE IT!!! I would purchase and Im considering heavily on getting myself a Model 3... maybe...we have a long ways to go before I trade in my current car and by that time...maybe other 100% EVs from other manufacturers might be available by then...but to reassure you folk, as of now, Id rather a Model 3 that aint even out yet to the Bolt... But...when I discuss...I at least want to be as truthful as I can... -
Actually, I disagree about HD truck owners not caring... Manufacturers of Pick-Up trucks and full sized SUVs have gotten a free ride regarding emissions, gas consumption, gas guzzler tax and the like... Manufacturers used those loop holes to continue to produce full sized trucks the way they used to do it with BOF full sized cars....some gas saving technology ended up going into these BOF full sized trucks as the V8s used in them also went into some of their passenger cars which WERE and STILL ARE SUBJECTED to strict gas consumption rules... Would-be owners of these BOF full sized trucks were NEVER subjected to lose money DIRECTLY from their pockets...they did when their BOF cars were subjected to these rules...for those that switched from cars to trucks that is...but NOT those that were ALWAYS truck guys... But...hit the BOF full sized truck owners in their pockets like how BOF car owners were in the 1970s and I assure you with great confidence and ARROGANCE that these proud owners of BOF full sized trucks wont be so lovey dovey with their BOF full sized trucks anymore... Those Escalade driving soccer moms and cowboy wannabe dudes in their Longhorn Rams and Denali GMCs and King Ranch F Series will think twice before making such an expensive purchase that will now affect them DIRECTLY... And then there is the fleet owners...a fleet of these gas guzzling things where 1-2 MPG difference could mean (hundreds of?) thousands of dollars over the course of the life expectancy of the fleets... In a land (United States of America) where dollars and cents on the bottom line is ALL that matters and that dollars and cents on the bottom line is ALWAYS calculated and factored in...yeah...I think this matters and WILL make a difference...

Can the same thing be said about Ford when Ford did the same thing upon the release of the 2013 Ford Fusion? They offered the base 2.5 liter engine choice but limited those to fleet sales and pushed the 1.6 ecoboost upon the consumers...which obviously the 1.6 ecoboost had a higher price tag than the 2.5... We know that the 1.6 liter ecoboost is not a 'gotta have now' engine choice...so we could conclude Ford wanted to push the ecoboost moniker... We also know that with the Mustang...the tried and true V6 was also offered but limited to fleet sales and pushed ecoboost upon the consumers...up until finally Ford just recently killed the V6 altogether. We know with Lincoln ditching the Twin Force moniker and keeping the same ecoboost moniker and with the arrival of the Ford GT that Ford put all their eggs in the ecoboost basket... Ecoboost...even with the might of the Ford GT engineering behind it....aint a 'gotta have now' technology. Maybe Ford is not as dependent on ecoboost to survive as Tesla is on the Model 3...I dont see this as a negative for Tesla if it aint a negative for Ford... And to my best knowledge...ALL HIGH END GERMAN makes do the same thing as Tesla just did...reminiscent of nickeling and diming tactics... BMW to Mercedes to Audi... Porsche takes this to a HIGHER level...not only do they nickel and dime the consumer, but they also charge even HIGHER prices for DE-CONTENTING options and ELIMINATING materials for lesser weight all in the name of selling you a "light, raw, back-to-basics" performance machine... What is good for the goose MUST be good for the gander... If this tactic will help Tesla be profitable and put some distance between the Model S and 3 and possibly make the Tesla sheeple fall head over heels even MORE for Tesla products...I say what the hell???!!! Good luck to Tesla!!!

I like the look of the Model S. The re-freshed one with the new nose. The older front end has gotten stale and out-dated. The silhouette is still slippery and sleek. Despite the design being on sale now for 5 years, it holds its own in sexiness. Its got that fast-back look that says "speed"! Albeit Id prefer if Tesla would re-freshen the back end as they did with the front end just a tad just for change's sake. Honestly...there arent any pure 100% EVs out there to truly compare it to in looks still in 2017...(in its price range and EV range and position in the market place...a Chevy Bolt perhaps...but a Chevy Bolt is not a sports sedan in the high end of the luxury world of cars... No...it does not have jelly bean looks... The car is rounded, yes...cars have NOT been square since the 1980s...and even then, rounded cars were starting then...Ford Taurus anyone... The 1990s Caprice was a jelly bean...the Taurus had 2-3 generations of jellybean-ess to them......the 1992 Pontiac Grand Am was totally jellybean...today's cars...not so much... Hell...Id argue...if we gonna go down the jellybean road...that the GM GMT360 SUV is jellybean... (yes...these are Oldsmobile Bravadas in reality...the Chevy version hides the rounded areas, unlike the Oldsmobile versions where Oldsmobile, Buick and SAAB embrace the curves) Actually...the Model S sedan kinda reminds me of the late 1960s GM A-Body fastback muscle car coupes both in silhouette and 3/4 view fastback styling. Obviously I am not trying to say that both cars are the same...but in style, purpose, sleekness the share the same qualities Both even have above the rear wheels, accented fenders... The Olds442 is rounded all around...but NOBODY DARES call the Olds a jellybean shape though...

Yeah....well...I personally wouldnt trust any car coming from Germany either...some pretty shady stuff coming outta Germany too ya know... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/03/04/global-recall-1-million-mercedes-cars-fire-risk-could-include/ http://www.autonews.com/article/20170303/OEM11/170309916/mercedes-to-recall-1-million-newer-vehicles-globally-after-51-fires https://www.autoblog.com/2017/03/04/million-mercedes-benz-recall-fire-risk/

Oh...nice truck. I would never do anything to offend anyone! I just like to entertain from time to time. You could tell Seabass to kick my ass if you did not approve of the joke on top!

Chrysler Aspin, huh? Do beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano upon the sight of a Chrysler Aspin? All I know is that John Denver is full of shyte, man!

And quite honestly...a luxury muscle car that aint even a cop car like its Charger cousin aint exactly gonna reel them in. There is a reason why the 300 SRT went away in the first place... What a role reversal...when the LX cars were first introduced, 'twas the Bentley like 300 that was all the rage...and the wanna-be gangsta folk all went bananas for them...but when the cops started driving Chargers, twas the Charger that became cool..that would also be ironic as wanna-be gangsta folk advertised thuggery and criminality...and now the LX cop car that symbolizes the law is on top...

This car shoulda been introduced if not with the Dodge Hellcats...last year with the Grand Cherokee version. Not to say that the 300 Hellcat wont be MY choice for 4 door version, because instantly...I want this car as bad as I want the Challenger Hellcat... With a catch... At least if Chrysler could make the 300 Hellcat in AWD form...from the Jeep, you know, to differentiate it from the Dodge Brothers...and a little closer for it being more upscale type deal...

Genesis News: Genesis G70 is Korea's 3-Series Challenger
oldshurst442 replied to William Maley's topic in Genesis
@Drew Dowdell Sorry because I will derail it again...but I gotta post this. I just gotta. The reason for the G Wagon is to appease NATO régulations... For decades the US shoved this shyte airplane down Germany's throat Its payback time for Germany to force the US Military to buy the G Wagen...all in the name of NATO...and revenge... OK...back to the boring discussions of a Hyundai luxury car. -

Lazy rivers...HA! YOU actually posted a rugged tough SUV that is supposed to be military tough in a LAZY river... You just filled up the whole card with that one pic as you were trying to pass that off as a dangerous and tough SUV thing... Therefore -

^^^ Yup... And @smk4565 I guess you missed the snorkel... Besides...the Russians in this case do it better! Those is what I call REAL off road SUVs...in the TRUEST sense of the acronym that was started by that humble little General Purpose Vehicle that we now know today as JEEP With all said and done...at the end of the day....Id still rather the JEEP though... Something about 'Merica Phoque YEAH! that I prefer over Commie Ruskies! -

Ill take the one that won the war... To boot...BECAUSE its an offroader...and luxury and off the beaten path are opposites of the class spectrum and therefore a LUXURY OFFROAD SUV is A BLOODY OXΥΜΟRON... Ill start with this Or this And spend tons of money making it do this and making it look like this And have money left over to buy several of these And these Laughing at all the idiots that buy LUΧURY OFF ROAD SUVs Land Rovers, Escalades and G Wagons alike... Sue me! -
I absolutely loved the article! Thanx for posting it.

The car above is niiiiiiice. I like. But its a computer rendering, right? It dont matter. Its niiiiiiice. But....I think Ive seen that ass before. Yes. Yes I have. That rear end could easily go on a modern Cadillac coupe. The next Elmiraj concept or CTS CT5 Coupe.

Yeah well...the Brooklyn Dodgers also won a World Series in 1955...and Joltin' Joe had looong retired by then... And when the Dodgers was the talk of the town in 1955, the Yankees quietly became legends again with Mantle and Maris and the Dodgers quietly were no longer playing at Ebbetts field in Brooklyn... And then there was this When the Yankees was at the bottom... But quietly this guy came along to fortify the Yankees as the BEST TEAM IN HISTORY IN ALL OF SPORTS! There is a small connection and purpose to that that I did I doubt however if you could figure that out...

From WIKI https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formula_One Kinda makes those recent Mercedes Benz Championships hollow, huh? I get why we should feel all nice and warm about the Project One and all...and as an AUTOMOBILE enthusiast I FEEL THE LOVE for the Project One...but... As a Dallas Cowboys fan...Troy Aikman is my guy... Also...my choice for GOAT at the 1/4 back position is this guy... well...until this guy came along Just because I root for 1 team...it does not mean I HAVE to denounce all other teams just because of sheer fanboyism... I analyzed and dissected this discussion front to back, back to front... When I say that a possible mid-engined Corvette WILL give the Project One a run for its money... It aint ME being the fanboy of saying that...as I showed that a Vette dominates...and people that ENGINEER them and MOSTLY the people that own them have that passion to make them dominate... But tis the people who ONLY will give props to the Project One and negate ANYTHING other than the Project One... Several of you have gone outta your way to denounce the Vette and Ferrari trying to prove to ME that I am the one outta line...yet ironically...YOUR arguments to me are ALL OF FANBOYISM... Mine are of reality! YOURS is purely out of spite... A mid-engined C8 is vaporware? Sure...it may be...but that is more of you folk wanting it to be vaporware rather than what is really going on... Not wanting to admit that a mid-engined Vette WILL punch above its weight class and give hypercars a run for their money while ONLY praising the Project One? Yeah....wear those blinders but tell me Im crazy...while resorting to the vaporware comment again... Photos and mock-ups versus actual spy pics of a possible vehicle actually PHYSICALLY being tested... Both have a realism to it, but both have vaporware written all over them... How is it though that we could speculate what one car will do without any real facts...and CEO words dont count, and we cant speculate what the other will do KNOWING what Vette engineers and Corvette Racing endeavors has achieved while thousands of loyal Vette hot rodders and racer and after market producers has actually accomplished with the Vette over the last 60 phoquing years???!!!
