  1. Yeah airport parking is insane. Depending how close/far away you are it's $7.00(reasonable) to $30 a day here at Lambert(Just checked). Most seem to be in the $10-$20 range. That sht adds up.
  2. They can be extremely convenient. A couple years ago when we went to Vegas, we never needed to rent a vehicle because we were close enough to walk most places but those we couldn't the $10-30 for an Uber/Lyft was way cheaper and even more convenient than finding a place to park and most likely paying to park as well. We also use them if we're going out drinking places, no worry of a DUI if you're not driving. It's really all about location. When you're in a larger populated area, it's way more convenient to Uber/Lyft then drive a lot of the time.
  3. I haven't read through everything but I saw sales comparisons.. Don't all new entries come out of the gate pretty hot? I think the Escalade and 'Gator numbers are pretty impressive not only besting the "competition" but the Escalade is the oldest by a country mile. Pretty much Escalade. The Navigator is the only true competition when it comes to a vehicle THAT size.
  4. Sht. What'd you do??? Hows the recovery coming along?
  5. And yet the autos of today are leaps and bounds safer than those steel bumpers and 15-18 inches of "crumple zones". If they were truly crumple zones, they wouldn't have been as unsafe as they were.
  6. 3 inches of air or plastic won't have any effect on repairing an impact.
  7. Yeah, I don't like that at all. This must be a safety thing and if somebody falls asleep/passes out the vehicle won't move forward upon waking up and/or moving their foot. About how long did it take before the message comes up and you need to do this?
  8. When I had a rental Ecosport recently, I wish I would have tested that out. I would have liked to experience it, even though it would infuriate me. Did it warn you or just automatically say you must put the vehicle in park and restart it? If it gave you a little 5 second count down, it wouldn't be too bad. You just take your foot off the brake(or not even because they fire up before your foot is even off the pedal) for a second to fire it back up for a second then.
  9. That's still pretty good considering the most they can sell a CPO for is 75,000 miles so at a minimum they're getting ~50,000 miles. Sorry, it just seemed pretty random to me.
  10. Why? He was already saying said vehicles were CPO. Nobody was diving into what the requirements were to be a CPO per their respective brand.
  11. That sounds infuriating. I would not like that at all.
  12. I'm also not in a position to buy a CLS new. That's a large income gap that could persuade me to care or not care about maintenance costs. Retaining a near 20k used price for a decade old car isn't too shabby. I would also say the same thing minus the word "German" and substitute that with "Luxury" for any of the other brands I listed.
  13. But what about Lexus, Lincoln, Acura, and Cadillac?
  14. I completely agree but that is what Dfelt asked. There is also a pretty dang large percentage of Caddy drivers who don't want to own them very long either, and Lincoln, and Lexus.. that's a pretty solid mix of vehicles and brands. I don't think drawing a line and saying all of those people don't trust owning them beyond 100k miles and they're all afraid of repair costs.
  15. About the same number of older Cadillacs and Lincolns around... Okay, that's not true. I see more Mercedes and BMW's 10-20 years old than Cadillac or Lincoln. What? Fanboys fanboy over their brands.
  16. That's not exactly how that works though.. Just because they don't lease a vehicle doesn't mean the person wouldn't purchase it either. Cadillac @ 45% vs Mercedes @ 50% per Dfelt's graph or 42% vs 53% per yours(not sure what the difference is). Lexus is known to be reliable yet they have some of the highest lease percentages. Lincoln isn't anything but glorified Fords but they share the same percentage per your link.
  17. Why does it matter if they are leases or not? I'm not following how one or the other is a negative.
  18. People act the same with Cadillac, Chevy, Ford, Toyota, etc..
  19. ..I'd still take a C Class over the Cadillac equivalent..
  20. Absolutely! I think that is where Lincoln is kind of carving out their own little niche in just trying to be Lincoln instead of trying to directly compete with other vehicles.
  21. Gladiator, XT4, X7, new Veloster, Arteon all seem to stand out a little more to me
  22. At that point you just move up to the next car. You can't have all the open space in a smaller car and expect it to be as roomy as their next vehicle up the ladder.
  23. Those numbers are insane. I rarely drive to work but our lot is $8 early bird and i think $12 if you miss the early bird, for all day. It jumps to $20 for games/concerts at the dome(where the Rams used to play). Prices don't jump for STL Cardinals games because it's too far away to hike the prices.
  24. That's not parallel parking but it is parking itself and that is really cool.
