Those probably don't deal with human safety, I'd assume. Something can fail on a car and them want it fixed without being a safety recall.
-
Yeah it definitely is not tucked in like the E and S Class' are... I like the theme. It's simple and clean to me. As long as one of the screens doesn't go out, lol. Granted, if any screen on any car goes out you're in big trouble, nobody is excluded from that group!

To me it doesn't really look like it's on that dash as much as it looks like an extended instrument cluster like a scaled down S or E Class.

I thought that was a very neat number as well.

Correct but that's anything but dirt cheap for a car that size.

2019 Lexus ES Grows In Size, Adds F-Sport : Comments

Wow, they have gotten similar with this new gen of Camry. -
This is floating to you? So it should be roomier than the CLA while being a tad shorter overall(assuming it is largely in part of longer wheelbase)?

I converted the length here to what's on MB's US site and our current CLA is an inch longer overall. This thing not in "L" form must be TINY!

Yeah, 7 inches seems like quite a bit as well. Nice.

I wouldn't call anything with a starting price in the US of $32,700 "dirt cheap".

Leaving the factory the Tacoma did indeed have a rust free frame.. Point being, you should dislike all auto companies if you think a few recalls make a company look like they don't know how to engineer their vehicles. Should GM have coated their frames better to not rust as well? Nah, we'll turn a blind eye to them..
-
For a massive loss.. I'm not sure if that's really paying it back but yes, it was "paid back". And shouldn't simple things like using the correct bolts or correct welding? "General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and 2016 Cadillac Escalade, Cadillac Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Sierra, GMC Yukon and GMC Yukon XL vehicles. The front upper control arms may have inadequate welds near the control arm bushing." It happens. The important thing is these major manufacturers are taking care of it. None of them are innocent so there's no good reason to hold one above the others.

That's like saying you're completely turned off by the whole GM ignition switch situation which is way worse of a recall. I don't mind recalls. Every company has them and they're taking care of a problem. Interesting article in 2016 when we were in peak recall times. http://wardsauto.com/industry/best-and-worst-automaker-recall-rates

What quality/engineering issues is the new Tacoma having?

I've always just bought what I wanted because the're not driving or paying for it anyway...

I think all of us would prefer those over that Maybach. Hell, they might even have more prestige as everybody loves clean classics!

Hahahaha same here! The only real reason I could see somebody wanting it is because of its brand, Mercedes-Maybach. Maybach holds some serious luxury equity so the uber rich can say, "I have the newest Maybach available."

Buick also doesn't offer any hybrids in 2018 so I'm not exactly sure what their end goal is.
-
And few of the base ES's are ever built so we can just assume both add a few options and are still roughly 10k apart. How much smaller is the Regal? It looks waaaay better as well. It sucks but that's how all companies are packaging things now. Especially considering the current LaX is probably their oldest vehicle and possibly on its way out.. that's just how it goes..
-
Sounds like somebody just shouldn't buy the Buick then..lol Also, the LaCross starts $10,000 less than the ES. It seems like the only one that truly out-options/classes it is the Avalon as it is near luxury like the Buick but also comes with more standard. At a $10,000 premium it is expected the ES will have more and the Buick does everything inside MUCH better than a Corolla with more power, leather, quietness, smoothness... I have to believe there are options that are standard on the LaX and not the Corolla. I just don't have the time to scan through both option sheets.
