I read somewhere once that the best looking aircraft are almost always the best performing ones too. I'd agree. Boeing's X-32 is such an ugly piece of work... But then again so is the Lockheed X-35 that went on to become to F-35....

The What Would You Buy Instead Thread- New Audi TTS
Suaviloquent replied to Frisky Dingo's topic in The Lounge
If I lived in the city in the future and it was all about the looks and the sounds, and the feels (with epic driving) then this and absolutely this in this paint: Around $55k with GT350 w/ tech package. Now the problem is that if I didn't live in the city in the future then I cannot configure a Camaro as of yet in that price range for the rulez... So I can only satisfice. So I loaded up a Cadillac ATS 2.0T with a glut of options. $55k on the dot, 2.0T Kona Brown leather w/ aluminum trim option. It looks slick I tell ya. -
Ram News: Marchionne Wants A Midsize Truck for Ram
Suaviloquent replied to William Maley's topic in Ram
I'm a fan of Comanches in general. I used to play with cardboard jeeps and comanches as a kid. I don't really like the Renegade Comanche. Maybe I'm not used to the rounded look - I don't expect it in a Jeep pickup truck. Or maybe I'm just too fond of the boxy cardboard jeeps. they were really cool actually. They cost like 2 or 3 cents each back then. You'd cut them out, fold and glue the sides and instant childhood memories. I'd handily recommend them to anyone with kids. If they break they're super easy to replace. I bet now you can do so much more too.- 60 replies

While I like the Buick... I have come to realize I fundamentally disagree with this segment. You trade a fair bit of space and put down a lot more money for a subcompact crossover that has a higher ride height and AWD compared to compact car. Granted, I see why putting AWD and jacking up a compact car would make a ton of sense. If you can't make money on small cars ya damn well figure out how. There's deals to be had in other vehicles that are becoming slower sellers.

Chrysler News: 2017 Chrysler Pacifica to Start $29,590*
Suaviloquent replied to William Maley's topic in Chrysler
I love the paint job on the hybrid. I really like this. And the platform does have the ability to have AWD added to it. My guess? Expect a Chrysler CUV based on this too. -
Cooler heads prevail. Now I wanna secretly pledge my allegiance to the flag of the United States of Lincoln Continental.

Very good sir. Very good. Building on Ccap... Now, where to insert cash money, where to deposit cheque money, where to max out credit line, where to refinance mortgage/reverse equity loan...

Hello all, this is my first review ever of anything, and it's about a burger sold by the Golden Arches here in Canada as the mighty Angus. Angus.... So. Let's start with the presentation. Very nice exterior, classy lines, and I love the brown paint on the bun. The seed pattern is very stylized and reminds me of perforated leather. It starts great, and it continues nicely. The lettuce was full of colour, clearly they thought of the rendering of the foliage and the colour saturation of the greens. But I'm not sure this is 4K, I'd say it's more of a judder-free 60hz 1080p. Alright, so the sauce. very viscous, smoky sweet, probably some diesel soot colour. Probably some kind of heavy lubricant that needs to be warmed up to allow the bun and toppings to slide freely. It's a bit overbearing though, they need to taste-tune it so it is milder and less dominating the experience. The grilled onions, excellent. I never thought a McDonald's burger would come with this luxury feature, but you know that's just what's happening in the industry, You're seeing trickle-down flavourtronics, and McDonald's is catching up to better burgers that cost less. Tomato slice. I'm sorry, they advertise this is a massaging tomato for your tongue, but you know how it is, it's nothing like a real massager for your tongue. It just isn't possible at this price, it vibrates a little when you bite, but the viscous sauce probably reduces the sensation. You can't feel it. However, the bacon bits are an affront to anyone who likes bacon. There's no replacement for displacement, and the bacon should have displaced MOAR OF LE BERGEUR. Inexcusable, for a CAD $7 burger. The Patty? Either it's unimpressive or the smoky sauce, again, dampened the experience. To me, it's just a bigger patty from the same cut. No excellence of execution for the patty. Too much flab, not enough magnetic tasty food control. So, what is the total package you are getting? I think this is a good burger, probably overpriced, but reliable as it's very time efficient. Time efficiency is like the "reliability" of fast food. So, I give it a 7.2/10, would Trump again, but only if my Obama-Clintoncare Foodsurance paid for it with a $19 trillion dollar deductible.

Whoops derp. I really just meant to show my like of the curves moar.... I also just like a burl swirl pattern. It's old, proven and them curves tho. What can I say, I'm a burl wood 'tard, and I am a proud burl lover, and as President Suave I approve this message. Make America Grape again!!!

It's not like Ferrari does not have TTV6 hybrids in its F1 cars. It's a matter of time. It'll happen. Just a matter of when.

Ford - Only Auto MFG - World’s Most Ethical Companies Honorees
Suaviloquent replied to FordCosworth's topic in Industry News
Okay as consolation, I'll tell you I don't think a single automaker is ethical at all for any reason. I think humans existing as they do now is unethical. I think the way we eat, breed and die is unethical. So...I think everything in the end is unethical. What matters is how least unethical we can be. But we'll never be perfectly ethical, in order to achieve that status we either have to revert to being animals that simply do what they do to adapt and survive or we have to become god-like beings that exist in perpetuity. -
Not really. GM needs to introduce AWD to the CTS VSport, otherwise it'll never get the chance to sell to some buyers entirely. Variants. Yes, that's why GM is working on 11 new models for Cadillac. I suppose that really means 3-5 new entire models and the rest being a variant of those. Brand snobbery isn't much of a thing anymore. It's about value propositions and brand identity. A snob for Cadillac is a a snob like anyone else. Some people don't give a single damn about 0-60 or figure 8 times. In that case the Audi handily beat everyone in interior quality, being the oldest of all 3, and it's tech is the best in the business. Now Cadillac needs to just bridge that gap just a bit more. But if someone wanted more of a sleeper look, more reserved, the Audi is hard to beat. And besides, this is just a prequel to the real comparison that will happen : the CTS versus the new E Class with comparable models. I think it'll turn out just like the Mercedes C63 versus ATS-V. Not that it's a bad thing. But Cadillac needs to continue to evolve. And Cadillac would love to be in the position where it charged more than anyone else. I'd hate for Cadillac to settle for some value pricing model for luxury. That's just not good for the long-run brand image.

Ford - Only Auto MFG - World’s Most Ethical Companies Honorees
Suaviloquent replied to FordCosworth's topic in Industry News
I equate "most ethical" to be like Donald Trump's "least racist" line. -
What are you rambling about? That's an MKX interior. Oh I get it, some people think it looks like a Ford interior. I gotta say, other than that the screen, about nothing is shared. The Lincoln MKX interior has been lauded because it looks classy and simple. Even MT liked it. Autoguide liked it. And I like it too. And I like simple classy design. Also, the matter burl wood trim. It's something I think Lincoln must have paid Bentley to get, because it's damn good for a vehicle at any price.

Rolls-Royce News: Spying: Rolls-Royce Cullinan SUV Mule
Suaviloquent replied to William Maley's topic in Rolls-Royce
Man does that mule look ugly. A Rolls Royce SUV. Wow. Just wow, I wish them well, but how the hell will a 3 box sedan style work on an SUV? My guess is that it'll look like a hearse on stilts. Especially because RR's have thick chrome window trim, and chrome wheels and the same lines of hearses -
It's a untenable situation. There was an article how this problem may never be fully solved. It's just the scale of cheating, that's problem. Also, their profits have been overstated for like the better part of the decade because of this. They deserve to get their butts kicked over this. And I quite like every other product they make that doesn't have a diesel engine.

Cadillac News: 2017 Cadillac XT5 Debuts in Dubai UAE
Suaviloquent replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac
I like the Plum leather. But I gotta say man, I was at the Auto Show, and I was not impressed with many interiors be it Cadillac, Mercedes, Audi or Jaguar. LIke for the price, I just couldn't believe it. For the price, the freaking Ford Fusion Platinum and Malibu Premier are ridiculously good interior vise. the only SUVs I liked were the Volvo XC90 and the black label MKX with the black leather/saddle leather on the dash. And the chunks of wood - man are they excellent in both of them. -
I agree, it looks quite nice, and the materials were awesome. But I like the way the MKX interior looks way more. Like wayyyy more. Like huuugely more.

We like the sounds V8s make because we like the sound, not because the engine makes it. Really. Then some of us still, like the fact that the V8 is through its operation is making the sound - and are willing to pay for it. There is nothing wrong really with piping fake noise. Already we're not hearing the engine if it's on an engine dyno. We're hearing whatever the automaker now wants to be heard and then using all kinds of different tuning for other components to engineer the "real" sound.

Well you don't need an electric vehicle to have a battery per se. You never know. In principle you could just have a really good capacitor, but it'd still be expensive. Supercapacitors could become so good that you could store energy without the setbacks of maintaining some kind of battery chemistry and ideal operating temps...And charge in seconds. Yeah. Charge in seconds.... https://www.quora.com/Can-the-super-capacitor-replace-the-battery

In the end man, nature wins all the time. For example. Gasoline. Duhhh.. which process known to man actually makes it? Nature. To be specific dead life forms that somehow have the converted sunlight and carbohydrates buried in preserving sand and mud and then pressure cooked to perfection. To be even more specific our sunlight is made out of hydrogen, which itself was dispersed from the death of early hypergiant stars that had supernovas for their deaths. To be even more specific, those stars existed because of the expansion of the universe that allowed the density of matter to fall and temperatures to reduce such that matter could exist below a super critical state. To be even more specific the expansion is feature of the big bang. And big bang because because. And because because our belief in causality. Therefore nature wins period.
