  1. the nerve... wouldnt that be a cool car tho?
  2. no offense, but quarter mile times dont sell trucks... endurance sells trucks... GM has the Most Dependable Long Lasting Trucks on the road, and they continue to sell them every year to the masses. And there is no way to know how the chevy was equipped... the photo they use wasnt a 2006, and the photo would indicate that this vehicle probably isnt equiped with 5.3... they want to complain about the ride/handling... well there are several suspension packages that you can get your vehcile equiped with... some are designed to be comfortable empty (the way most trucks are used)... which rear gears did they have? you failed to mention ---> best fuel ecconomy, quetest interior... "Hampered by small tires and tall gears (it indicated 50 mph still in first gear), the Chevy ranked fourth, the return being the best mileage, even breaking the 20-mpg barrier (and EPA highway rating) on one leg; the truck's relatively low profile and new electric cooling fans helped. This translates into quiet cruising--below 2000 rpm at 80 mph--but will net a downshift at the slightest of grades (and require two for descents); we'd stick with the 3.73:1 gears if we planned on pulling anything." lets take off the gloves...have you ever driven with any of these vehicles loaded? I've driven the tundra loaded... with a load of 2k lbs... and i'll tell you fish tailing at 55mph isnt good enough for me... If you are going to insult chevy's reliablity as far as trucks go... perhaps you should take a look at Chevy200k.com or the % of trucks that are still on the road over the last 20 years... and you'll see thats why GM can claim that their trucks are the most reliable long lasting trucks on the market... does anyone ever pay attention to the 0-60 speeds of peterbuilts or kenworths? and if they did would it be empty or full? those trucks will pull more then any silverado or tundra... and i bet you they would lose any race...
  3. how can GMC be a core brand...? its only got trucks?!
  4. here at my dealership we dont get any ordering guides or spec sheets... it may be different else where because i know they exist... and i've seen a few laying around but they were 2004 YM... I think our fleet guy hogs them... And the Canyon Question isnt to early because we have 2007 Colorodos with the 3.7 so the product is here... My dealership kinda has a moto of... The customer generally knows more about the product then you will, because the consumer knows whats important to him... the last ride and drive there was here in cali was in january on the GMT900 Tahoes... awesome by the way and we got a pamphlet with info about Avalanche Tahoe & Suburban... but so far there has been nothing published that i've seen regaurding the Silverado/Seirra except on GM's website...
  5. Hey... GM doesnt tell us anything... let alone do the salesman read what they have when its avalible to them, but... as a salesperson i can tell you never does GM ever... provide training or education for the saleforce... besides GMTraining.com which your dealership has to enroll you in, which most dealerships choose not to include the sales staff in that... I can tell you there is not a person at my dealership besides me that would understand GMT900 or would know the changes in power or displacement in such areas... You've got to remember... I, as a salesperson, must know every detail that every customer that i talk to wants to know... I must know the packages and avalible options for each chevy model we have, AND I must know the basic price range for each vehicle... this way I have to know 15 different, everything from base price, to wheel base, overall width, rear leg room, gas tank size, fully optioned price, packages, horsepower, torque, fuel ecconomy, tow ratings, weather the car will flat tow... And RELEARN IT EACH YEAR MODEL? Give me a F'n Brake... and do you honnestly think he's going to tell you when the next year model is going to come out... he makes no money if you walk away... personnally i'll beat around the bush about future products until i see the consumer is only interested in that... in which case i'll be straight forward and try to be as helpful as i can regaurding their future sale... also many times we just dont know when the next models are coming out... the only reason i know 4th quarter is because we hire a guy from GM to tell us everything, and from here... but most dealerships dont have that luxuary... we are the 2nd largest dealership in the western reigon... and most of the guys here couldnt even tell you anything regaurding the new silverados... nor would they have even known that the colorodo has a new engine... PLEASE DONT RAG ON SOMEONE UNLESS YOU UNDERSTAND THEIR POINT OF VIEW... Ohh and about selling a F-150... Try test driving an F150 compared with a GMT800 and then we'll see your reaction... the interior might suck but the ride is so much better then fords...
  6. looks confusing...
  7. Toyota doesnt like diversity... they generally like only 1 or 2 options... like now... 1 v6 1 v8... so thinking the v8 has that much power seems bizzar and unnecissary for a company that is trying to seem green... the only use for a truck like that is a SRT-10 competator...
  8. our management wont mark em up more then 75$
  9. As the title says... my best friend's dad is getting an F430.. i dont even know what to think about... hes been talking about it for years, and hes always said it would be once the boy graduates college... but... it just went from 2 years away to... like 5 days... Saturday, he's going... today 230k in the bank... I wonder if the blown 72 chevelle will have some competition in the family? its always fun to see a drag car pick its front tires up
  10. My 01 sierra has its front wheels powered... with plenty of torque i might add... and it doesnt have near the torque steer or understeer problems that others have mentioned... not even axel hop! Power steering that is
  11. the theta is supposed to go till at least 2009 IIRC...
  12. IIRC Tacoma has #1 sales Colorodo has #2... let me check to make sure
  13. pushrod + AFM = the new bag of worms...
  14. well the design of Active fuel management, is only designed to work on pushrods...
  15. didnt look inside, my customer was just a window shopper, but it did have the 242 hp motor...
  16. we've got 07's on the lot... no wait is necessary
  17. Link To Article Well i woke up this morning to a pleasent picture on the cover of MSN.com a Z06, with the title Americas 2006 Highest Quality cars then once i clicked that, i see the HHR
  18. well the resale values dont supprise me because Chevys trucks have the best resale values in the industry, and last i checked a Chevy's resale is also higher then a GMC... Fords Dodges lose a massive amount of equity once they walk off the lot... the silverado on the other hand holds a resale value that of or higher then the retail value assuming proper milage...
  19. well for 08 Launch vehicles... there should be the launch of the Hybrid Tahoe Saturn RL Sky Saturn RL Aura Saturn GL Aura? Chevy Malibu? Chevy Camaro? Whatever is left of the GMT900 series Sierra/Silverado HD... Chevy Aveo5 should be redesigned Cadillac CTS Hummer models? Saab? GMC? Pontiac GTO replacement? I think in 2008 a lot of powertrain and interior refinements will be made, example 6 speed transmissons... class leading fuel ecconomy?
  20. you mean, Outlooks, Enclaves, Acadias?
  21. but if those numbers are correct... in 2006 they have done 718,000 units to fleet... and in 2005 they did 746,00... so techinically the fleet sales are down...
  22. i said lack luster cars and trucks that fail to get good fuel ecconomy...
  23. like lutz said.. he would not have approved the 300... and everyone made fun of him for that... but i think he might have a point... but if you look at the dealerships.... they arent selling them like hot cakes any more... production has cought demand... and in short time, inventory will demand incentives... the dealerships around here have plenty of 300s... and the demand isnt going to go up without something radically different... price only steals future consumers...
  24. August should be about even... August the inventory seemed to really hit home...it was amazing, the first week of july cleared so much inventory all accross the country... we stayed up to 2-3 every morning and was back and open by 7 selling cars pretty much 24 hours a day... so with out that... I'd say july would have been horrible... but intrest rates and gas prices are really scaring consumers... those 10 days of the 72 hour sales, we moved over 250 cars... and it killed our selection of cars for all of july... people really at least here dont care for 0% for 60 months, i havent sold any consumers on that nor have customers been asking about it... but then again we're almost out of 2006 silverados...
  25. lol... the durango sold about as much as longo Toyota did in the past month or so... haha, thats remarkable that 1 dealership can sell so many cars...
