  1. Most forms of religion. A lot of dogs, although some are O.K. Nissan automobiles. Communism Steak cooked past medium rare Hyundai The ear infection that is currently giving me a monster headache The idiots in the Mustang community. I love Mustangs, and there are a lot of great Mustang owners, but if you want to find idiots that love cars, look no further than some of the people that post on Mustang boards. Theocracy The blending of church and state Iran The cat litter box I'm going to clean in about 5 minutes... My oldest son's last report card. Most forms of religion...oh wait...I already posted that one. Chris
  2. By the way, Chin up pauli... Ran into my old friend Lee yesterday. Seems he lost his leg and suffered several other disfiguring injuries in a motorcycle accident, which then led to him loosing his job. He's doing a little bit better though...he is good looking and well spoken, and is going to possibly go to work as a spokesman for Willowood, the company that made his artificial limb. He has a sesne of humor about the whole thing actually...my friend Laura is a lifelong friend of Lee, and she said that on holloween Lee sat on his front porch dressed normally, but with his artificial leg on backwards. Supposedly got a few interesting looks from children walking up to get candy. Another electricain I know just lost his 9 month old Silverado in a fire resulting from the improper installation of a truck alarm. The insurance won't cover his tools or the $4000 worth of nice aftermarket upgrades he had on the truck. Thankfully he is buying a nice older GMC work truck from a mutal friend. But Pauli you still have your health and your car...as well as your friends... Keep your chin up sir, things will get better. Chris/66
  3. Personally, college football is the only stick and ball type game I ever seem to watch. The last time I watched a full length baseball game it was the Cleveland Indians back in 1991. The last time I watched an NBA game was 1992. I go to Columbus Blue Jackets Hocky games once in awhile... Chris
  4. The 69 Mustang has to rate as one of the most badass American cars ever. I almost bought a 69 Mach 1 when I bought my 55 Chevy. The 69-70 Fastback Mustang was the very best of the Mustang breed, IMHO. To me, the very best of the Camaro didn't come until much later, in the form of the LS-1 powered cars of 98-02. Chris
  5. The Impala I am thinking of matched the one on the box cover, but had a white interior. Always loved the 65 Impala. Sadly, by the time I started liking cars, most of the 58-61 stuff was gone. i remember a few of them running around, but I grew up in Wisconsin, and cars rusted very badly in my old home town. Chris
  6. Thanks! Chris
  7. Which is why I love the Solstice and Sky so much. To me they are the purest example of American car design currently being built. Chris
  8. 56 Desoto was one of the best 50's designs. They paced the Indy 500 that year, IIRC. One of the best reads I ever read was about an American serviceman who bought a 56 DeSoto in the wilds of Iraq and managed to drive it back somehow through Turkey, and then through Europe, and then get it shipped back to the US. Forget where I read about that trip...wish i could remember. Cadillac IMHO had the best 60 design...I love what they did with Plum and Iris colored cars during this era. One of my fav. GM cars of all times was a 396 powered 65 Impala in that Iris color (Iris Mist as a Pontiac color, not sure of the Chevy name) with a white interior. Used to run around my old home town of Muncie, Indiana. Wound up on a used car lot next to a 65 Galaxie 500 Xl, White with a black vynal top and red interior. Wish that the collector car hobby paid more tribute to full sized cars. Around here, a ton of Mustangs, Camaro's, GTO's, TA's Vettes' etc. show up for cruise in's and car shows. But it is very uncommon for a fullsize car to show up any more. Chris
  9. Very beautiful, thank you for posting this. Chris
  10. Waiting for the pic... Chris
  11. Fresh out of cash also...but damn that's a nice truck. Chris
  12. Love that era of Cougar. Chris
  13. Because if we punish Japanese firms the Japanese will punish American firms wanting to do buisines in Japan. Much better would be laws leveling the playing field so that American vehicles could be sold on a fair basis in Japan. Chris
  14. Sounds more like an alternator to me, Pauli... Chris
  15. Happy Birthday...now go make another high speed run in the VW to celebrate.... Chris
  16. This might be far worse than anyone peviously thought...be interesting to see how other governments help their automakers. Chris
  17. Go to an SCCA event and watch A-Sedan, or to a NASA event and watch Camaro-Mustang Challenge, or American Iron. Best part is if you pay a years dues (SCCA is about $75 for an individual, or $100 for a family for a year) you get into unlimited races free for the year. Or, do as I did and work as a corner worker. You get up close to the action, and they feed you at the track to boot. It's about a billion times more fun than Nascar. Oh, and you might meet John Heinricy..he races a blue Firebird in A-Sedan. Chris
  18. It would look kind of upscale, I think. Off topic, but I think Chevrolet did a MUCH better job with the color choices on the Camaro than Ford has done with the current Mustang. Chris
  19. Very well said/written. Anybody else here seem to notice that Cheers and Gears seems to be getting better and better? The quality of the posts seems to be way up from everyone. Chris
  20. Having worked 5 years for a landscaping contractor like that while I was going through college, I would agree. Mike, my old boss, was very big into quality and design...he was very talented and artistic, and a pleasure to work for, most of the time. I actually really miss doing landscaping....right up until the time my wife wants something done in the yard. Chris
  21. I would agree. Nascar in some ways just needs to go away...it has become more of a soap opra for men then actual interesting racing. That and you watch about 3 laps for every 8 ad breaks... 66
  22. I would agree with you but reverse Subaru and Mitsubishi. Chris
  23. Thanks for the pic, 'Biz. There is something incredibly romantic to me about a woman and a 50's car. Chris
