Interesting..no A/C, but it does have the dash vents.. I remember a lot of older cars didn't have dash vents without A/C...

Nice weather—-sunny and 46 and the snow melted....drove a couple hundred miles around NE/north central Ohio...shopping for wine, cheese and sausage. From Grandpa’s Cheesehouse in Ashland to the Amish country/Swiss Ohio area around Berlin and Sugarcreek. Went and visited my parents’ graves in Port Washington. ( the 19th made 20 years since my Dad passed). Beautiful day to be driving winding, hilly Ohio backroads, and the Jeep drove great....great day to be Alive and Kicking as the song goes ( had a New Wave soundtrack for today).

Don't recall hearing 'finned' in this context, a 'recessed' or 'tunneled' backlight is how I'd describe it. 'frenched' I associate w/ 50s style custom cars where they sunk an antenna in a hole or recessed the headlights into the fender hole. It is interesting how there was a period from '66-73 where the Big 3 did the recessed backlights on at least one model each ('68-70 Dodge Charger, '71-73 Mustang and Cougar, '69-70 XL and Marauder, '66-67 GM A-body coupes). Kind of like how other design details became temporary fads like the stacked headlights in the early-mid 60s and again in the mid-late 70s on mid sizers...

Kia News: Kia Optima To Get Name Change, Two Turbo Engines
Robert Hall replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Kia
I like the K5's styling...some of the details are weird--I don't like the large vents on the sides of the bumper, from the side, but they are less noticeable on dark colored cars...like that blue and gray. The roofline reminds me of the MKZ. I like the lighting details and the small upper grille.. -
Went down to Kent and saw The Fixx last night, so listening to some fun '80s New Wave/Synth Pop today..

Does seem silly...the Forte is the K3 in SK, and the Credenza is the K9 I believe... -
Chrysler News: Most of FCA's Vehicles Moving to PSA platforms
Robert Hall replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Chrysler
I could see the next gen versions of the 3 current smaller Jeeps on such a platform. Maybe a Dodge Journey replacement also. It will be interesting to see if any sedans come to the US and under what brands, given the current US sedan market contraction...I do like the looks of the 508. -
I wonder when McLaren will build a mid engined CUV...
-
With a few exceptions, GM has given up on cars and competing in the car market. It’s all CUVs, SUVs and trucks for them now...

It’s a 1st gen Cayenne.

Interesting how the air intake tubes at the front are asymmetrical and length and location. Strange. Everything is so tightly packed in there looks like a maintenance nightmare.
-
Considering I previously went 17 years between buying daily drivers, I probably won't change soon...I plan to keep this current '14 Jeep to 100k..it's almost to 50k now. So I'm probably 3-5 years from looking seriously at something new/er.

I assume it will be a rebodied Panda Cross... The 4x4 Panda is available with a badazz turbo 0.9L 2 cylinder among other engines..

The subtitles are hysterical...

Supposed to be a heat wave today... up to 40. Was a bit sunny earlier, but cloudy now. Just a bit envious of my sister, she's starting a new 3 month gig in January in West Palm Beach. No polar vortex down there.

Odd...since no more NUMMI, no more US made Corollas? I figured they had moved them to another NA plant...

Sounds like it's mostly for Europe and Asia. Sized like the Fiat Panda or Suzuki Jimny.

VW News: Volkswagen Working on Sub-Tiguan and Updated Atlas
Robert Hall replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Volkswagen
Toyota and VWAG seem to be pretty good at global products and platforms. -
And on the opposite end of the spectrum, they are supposedly working on Tahoe/Suburban sized models with the Ram-based Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer...but those rumors have been going around for what seems like a decade...

When there were FOUR 350 V8 engines - your opinion
Robert Hall replied to trinacriabob's topic in Tech Section
