Jaguar News: Rumorpile: Jaguar Begins Work On A SUV
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Jaguar
Maybe they are going for a softer CUV approach..though the newer Range Rovers are getting rounded off and softer looking. It's too bad the Defender isn't still sold in the US, always liked it for it's seriousness and no-nonsense design. -
Hopefully they are spending money on the interior also...the current, dated Colorado looks like they budgeted about $10 for the interior--cheap and nasty inside.

GM seems to be taking a long time to get this truck out..hasn't the international version been out for several years now?

And there is also Fiat and Alfa Romeo in that picture as well.....Fiat for small cars, Alfa Romeo to target VW and Acura cross-shoppers, maybe...- 12 replies

Looks like a solid, non-worn out Jeep...good luck w/ it. How many miles?

I like that ad..it speaks to me as a 40 something single professional stuck in the commuter grind of corporate life..but I haven't stooped as low as to drive a Camry or other appliance.. I could imagine a similar ad for the Charger SRT8 or Chevy SS. Nice to see such cars still exist..an alternative to the generic FWD appliances the zombie masses buy...even if stuck in traffic, it's RWD/V8 and real, not just another bland CUV or FWD 4dr compact..

Industry News: Convertible Sales Are Still Down
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Industry News
Convertibles are great winter cars here in AZ...I try and rent one for a week or so every year. When I have extra garage space eventually I want one as a summer/beach car. -

Red car is a '62-64 Studebaker GT Hawk. Has non-factory paint on hood and front trim. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Studebaker_GT_Hawk -
I guess GM doesn't see the ROI in designing and building such product in-house. If they can't find the ROI in designing and building a global small delivery van, likely based off of Delta III, then they just need to pack it up and stop building cars. FORD CAN WHY CANT GM Bankruptcy (that's been the default answer for GM behavior the last 5 years, probably will continue to be for the next 5-10)

Vehicle: Volkswagen Beetle TDi (2013)
Robert Hall replied to ocnblu's topic in Member's Rides Showcase
About $3.45 for 87 regular here and about $3.75 for diesel, about the same as premium... -

One would think so, but this is GM we are talking about...

Very nice...looks like a '63 Fairlane and a '65 Plymouth Sport Fury ragtop w/ a '70 Charger in the background.. Anyhoo, haven't seen any interesting old cars on the road lately since this is the off season here...but did see a sharp white new Camaro ZL1 convertible (top up, of course) the other day...also saw what appeared to be an early '60s English Ford Corsair sitting a grubby fenced in lot yesterday. -

It would cost more $$$ and time for GM to do their own rather than a badge-engineered model. Would be cool to see a sharp angled luxury van for Cadillac..

Opel/Vauxhall News: Opel Reveals The Monza Concept... Somewhat
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Opel/Vauxhall
They used the name of the old Opel Monza https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8d/Opel_Monza_GSE_vl_white_TCE.jpg That looks like an old 80's Chevy. Forgot the name of the one but I clearly remember this car as a Chevy I think from the 80's. Interesting in that when I did a image search by google and Bing that neither ever brought this car up for me but the older Chevy Monza Prototypes. A google image search on 'opel monza' brings up lots of pics. The Chevy Monza was a '70s H-body (Vega variant). There was also a Corvair Monza in the '60s. -

Would make a nice Regal wagon here. Would be nice to see wagon than yet another dull CUV.

Scion News: Scion Misses Youth Market, Struggling In Sales
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Toyota
If Google were to eventually team up w/ Scion to market self-driving cars (since they are already working w/ Toyota on them), then they would take off amongst the youf, I would think. -
I haven't seen this site mentioned here, but it's pretty cool...my coworker w/ the new Volt showed me this today--voltstats.net, where Volt owners can track their mileage, etc statistics using data pulled from OnStar...lots of data and graphs to geek out on.. http://www.voltstats.net/
