  1. I'd bet it's a GM press fleet car...I would think they would be in the hands of the magazines by now..
  2. Sweet..I didn't realise they were out yet..
  3. explosive
  4. I guess the Edge's comparable model at Chevy is the Equinox? But it's more expensive.. Ford has 2 parallel tracks now--- SUV--- Escape->Explorer->Expedition, and CUV-- Taurus X->Edge->Flex. Though the Taurus X and Flex seem closer to regular station wagons to me than CUVs.
  5. The old phrase 'voodoo economics' comes to mind.
  6. Yeah, or like I've seen in the Denver area---$400k mortgage, house worth $300k... ouch.
  7. I wonder if he made that policy up on the spot... seems like it could be very costly..
  8. An '04 needed a new transmission? Wow..the driver is pretty lucky..good to have all the airbags and solid structure.
  9. That is strange...not very very good ergonomically, I would think..like resting your hand on a model car while at the puter..
  10. We are already there...look at the success of appliances like the Corolla, Camry, Civic, Accord, etc. Function, reliability, quality, value for the money trumps emotional appeal for most buyers, I think.
  11. Mmmm....wooden bridge. I remember driving through a number of covered bridges in Washington County, PA about 15 years ago...like the color of yer Cobalt.
  12. I'm twittering and blogging on CNN's political board as it goes along.
  13. Montenapoleone (a stop on the Milan, Italy metro system)
  14. As seen on CNN: "McCain "has signaled to his supporters that he is going to be very aggressive in this debate," Obama campaign spokesman David Axelrod said en route from Asheville, North Carolina, to Nashville, Tennessee, on Tuesday. "He is going to take the gloves off. So I hope in the course of it, he has time to speak to the state of our economy, which is in deep trouble right now." Axelrod said Obama is "prepared for a very aggressive debate." Speaking of 'very aggressive' and gloves off, I'd love to see the debate devolve into an out-and-out fist fight, them throwing chairs and punches, etc...that could make for must see TV... (I wonder if presidential debates ever devolved into to fights back in the 1800s...)
  15. Nothing 'innocent or fresh' about a Jesus freak that slaughters wild animals..
  16. Monday's Borowitz Report (humour): Andy Borowitz, Oct 6, 2008: Palin Blasts Obama's Ties to Weather Channel ‘Palling Around with Meteorologists,' Guv Claims Alaska governor Sarah Palin went on the attack today, claiming that Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama had longstanding ties to The Weather Channel. "What does it say about our opponent that he thinks this nation's weather is so imperfect that he needs to be allied with The Weather Channel?" she asked a crowd in Tampa, Florida. "There's a fine line between hating America's weather and hating America herself." Gov. Palin said that she learned about Sen. Obama's ties to The Weather Channel last week "when I was trying hard to read The New York Times." "They said that Sen. Obama was hanging out with weathermen," she said. "Do we really want to elect someone who has been palling around with meteorologists?" Gov. Palin's latest attacks came on the heels of a new poll showing that the only demographic group that still support her are morons, sometimes referred to by political insiders as "no-information voters." "It may sound like she spouting idiocy, but there's a method to her madness," said Tracy Klugian, a Republican strategist. "She's speaking to her base." Elsewhere, Sen. John McCain's practice session for the second presidential debate was cut short when his pants burst into flame.
  17. How about something light and humorous---I saw something this morning I should have taken a pic of... a guy in traffic had a W04 sticker, a McCain-Palin bumper sticker, a 'Veterans for McCain' decal, and a huge hand-lettered 'Country First' logo in the rear window. The irony--the car was a late model white Toyota Corolla. What a tool...
  18. I think that has happened here... a couple BPG dealers folded, and another was absorbed into a Cadillac dealer. So on one corner of a major intersection of a 6-lane street w/ a 4-lane street is a Cadillac store, on the nearest corner is their BPG store. Recently, the Cadillac store had a red G8 GT rotating on it's front dais, right next to the new CTSes, an STS-v, and an XLR.
  19. Mmmm...wild blackberries.. I have fond memories of picking them, wild blueberries, red and black raspberries on my folks' farm in Ohio as a kid..
  20. Ouch..good thing he wasn't driving an S10 Blazer..the front wheels would have been back by the B-pillar... (those things collapse like an accordian).
  21. Yes, it's typical Republican BS.... they don't believe in the freedom of the press..
  22. VH-1
  23. A roof ditch that is body color instead of black or chromed, I suppose. I think 'roof ditch' is the molding that covers a seam between the roof top and pillars/side panels on some bodies. Also I think it could refer to the the old-time 'drip rails' that cars used to have, they kind of worked like ditches..
  24. What did he blow up with a helicopter?
  25. Well, maybe..I haven't driven a G6 convertible yet, though. But the G6 definitely looks better, IMHO.
