  4. Don't like the 300? They can be had for not much money at all on the CPO market.

  5. It's still a Mercedes. It will never beat a Honda on operating costs no matter what powers either vehicle. The Bolt has already been out for a few years.

  6. That’s certainly a possibility but I’d like to point out that Lincoln sold 1490 in the last QUARTER (not even a 500 per month average). I personally think they will cut it loose but they could always end up going the China route like you said. I just don’t see the sales for it justifying it though. The CT6, btw, outsold the Conti, for the last quarter and for the year his far. If Lincoln can send them from China then there is no reason for Cadillac to not continue to do so. Of course, we are talking about logic here, something that has been absent from the Cadillac front office as of late.

  8. This isn't a family hauler... this is more Airport Shuttle / Hotel Shuttle. One hour recharge to 80% is good for these.

  10. Again; with that car-level interior, and the fact that the similar r-class started at $52K, AND this is to be electric, I fully expect it to be $70K to start. If it were gas with the shitty sprinter interior, i could see $35K.

  12. I'd be okay with a robo-car picking me up and dropping me off places. I bet an NSX has lower operating costs than a CLA45.

  13. It's not a CUV..it's a proper station wagon...the performance wagon version of the A6 sedan.

  14. I am surprised they haven't marketed a Vito or Metris family luxury minivan in the US before...I'm sure there are people that would buy one for the badge alone...

  16. It's a 2.0T... that's the size of diesel they've been running for years. The way they got it this clean was by putting two scrubbers in instead of just one. Yes, it uses DEF. I hope they do too.... I like variety in the car market.

  18. When we went to Italy couple years ago we took together with our friends a transfer service from Rome to a town on the Amalfi Coast. It was in the ICE version of this van, which i have to say was very nice and comfortable. The distance was about 160miles, almost 3.5 hours. This EV version theoretically could make same trip easily, than charge couple hours and do it again.

  19. Ford is preparing to launch a pair of mid-size crossover electric vehicles according to sources. One Ford and one Lincoln are code named CDX746 and CDX747 are similar in size to the Ford Edge and Lincoln Nautilus and both will be 2023 models. The vehicles were originally destined for Ford's plant in Cuautitlan, Mexico but have been moved to Flatrock Assembly in Michigan just south of Detroit. Flatrock Assembly is where the Ford Mustang and Lincoln Continental are currently built. These two EVs are slated for about 65,000 units annually and because of the move to Flatrock, essentially spell the end for the slow selling Lincoln Continental.... at least in the US. It is possible that Lincoln could continue building the Continental in China and import it to the U.S., however tariff concerns which killed the Ford Focus Active from being imported from China could also filter over onto the Continental.

  21. When we have autonomous vehicles with no steering wheel or pedals, people won't care about ride/handling or any of that. All they will care about is space, in which a box gives the most space and comfort. This is a commercial van now, but this application could be in wide use in 10 years.

  23. You know what is the one use a van doesn’t have anymore? As a mode of transportation for the majority of families out there. Please reference those sagging minivan sales brought up earlier. This has commercial intentions, plain and simple.

  25. Banks will let you finance anything these days if they think they can make money off you! lol I love this so much! ?? I'm just impressed it can regen enough on its way down that it doesn't need to recharge, ever. Now this is the perfect use of the current EV technology on the industrial level.

  26. Love it, big bright and I can run over all the slow assholes in the left lane. Plus it has a nice unique humm. For sure not quiet. Should be big enough for me to drive comfy!

  29. I love the BOLT, but am very disappointed in GM lack of offering diverse interiors on that auto especially with the number of customers saying they did not like the Black and White dash that is default for all the black, grey or black n grey interiors. They should have offered better colors and interior options from the begining.

  31. A Metris is priced like an Odyssey, this won’t cost double. And it is more of a commercial unit than a family vehicle but of course it can do both. Also the Odyssey isn’t electric. So this wins in operating costs and if China bans ICE engines then the Odyssey isn’t even an option.

  32. Nice interior, exterior is too coupe like for me in a CUV. Be interesting to see final specs and pricing. Hopefully they bring some quality as I have noticed all Audi's seem to have a very bad soot problem at the exhuast. They really seem to blacken things up out of the tailpipe.

  33. It's not like they'd have to invest anything to certify it. Throw a few on a boat and ship them over. I'm sure the Chinese factory has the capacity for an extra 1,200 Continentals a month. And then it keeps Lincoln in the Sedan game while Cadillac might be packing it up on the CT6. The lower expense of building it in China would balance out the shipping costs, probably to net zero or even to a net positive.

  34. It'll probably be like the FX4 Expedition where they get tires, off-road tuned shocks, skid plates, and a locking rear diff with a low range transfer case(if it doesn't already have it).

  35. That could be said about any luxury branded vehicle ever...

  36. I hope they just keep building it in China and importing it here... mostly in the more premium trims.

  38. Yeah, seems like an odd spot for it. There is no standard for where chargers sit relative to vehicles, unlike gas pumps which an ICE vehicle pulls up beside...vehicles can be beside, in front of, or behind a charger...as long as the power hose is long enough to reach, the port can be most anywhere... this van appears to be related to the Metris, so an electric delivery van for Amazon, etc would make a lot of sense in parts of the US.

  39. Heck at the pace we are going it could roll into a every 90 days pushed updates due to a security, browsing or some other functional issue bug. lol Just reboot the auto and all will be ok.

  40. The placement of the plug in the front or near the front is actually a good idea. It reduces confusion for most people, given that most ICE autos have the gas tank filler spot on the rear quarter (either left or right).

  41. This Continental was about 65% "try". I do like it but it should have been on a RWD platform from the start, with large displacement EB and Coyote engines. These electric CUV's will also be dismal sellers, so it is not like their fortunes will improve.

  42. Very cool as I see plenty of use for this in inner city deliveries. My only WTF is the placement of the battery recharge port, drivers side corner of bumper. Nissan is in the front of the auto. GM just in front of the drivers door. To me this makes much more logical sense to see it and unplug. For the bulk of people, I see no reason to not use the gas filler spot from ICE auto's.

  43. This totally makes sense to kill the continental as they bring other alternative power train autos to market.

  44. Why a version of this wasn't out when the ZR2 came out, blows my mind. What I would do with these twins is; Colorado would get the street treatment(Syclone would be an appropriate name) and it would be a little hot rod and the Canyon would get the off road treatment and make it the ZR2(name it whatever you want). You get two high-margin trucks and they wouldn't compete with each other for sales.

  45. On another trip today in the pacifica after spending 600 miles in my malibu yesterday The adaptive cruise is a MUST HAVE! don’t want another car without. Totally missed having it in the Malibu yesterday on that trip . the mpg today. Even better. 270 mile sample.

  46. Very welcome news. I hope they bring it to the USA. This tells me loud and clear that customers were asking for it. Demanding it.

  47. Yea, logic seems to be missing in many places of the world stage from GM HQ to DC and elsewhere. Just crazy. Good read on trade: https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/savingandinvesting/cramer-trump-should-heed-home-depots-warnings-about-the-consumer-and-make-a-trade-deal/ar-AAG59yo?li=BBnb7Kz
