take a moment
i don't think anything like that will happen any time soon again here. something else will/has surely come in a more sinister form. but i regress. what happened was horrible, the sadder part of it was what we had to do to end the war in the pacific. may these tragedies never be forgotten, else worse occur.

Two New Bibles Preach A Hip, Eco-Friendly Gospel
i've been kinda curious what a poll on here would show how this board's members are spread out religiously.

$25 a barrel oil predictions
with oil this cheap.... can any other energy be economical/cheaper (without billions thrown at any industry?)? wouldn't gov't cut in spending be just more useful than an increase in gov't spending (other than programs that DO help, like bridges and interstates) we were warned about the chaos that central banks create in the market and the country as a whole. we need to restore lawful money, the law, and confidence in both of these.

Two New Bibles Preach A Hip, Eco-Friendly Gospel
I think too many people don't know that christian churches have a history of something called stewardship...these (green) bibles are ridiculous.

$25 a barrel oil predictions
gallon of gas just hit $.92 on the market I think it won't go lower than $.80, unless we have a total melt down ...that'd put a barrel at, what, ~$35?

U.A.W. Makes Concessions in Bid to Help Automakers
I thought most of them voted for the bailout....handing "power over to the treasury" (never authority), my ® rep voted for it. ... so they didn't have to do anytihng for Citi to get this money...and now B.O. wants a NY FED guy as sec. of treasury.

The Official MPG Thread
at ~62 it's turning 2k which is normal w/i +-1% or so. yeah. it is hilly in my area which would be why the 3800 would be nicer, oh well. carry on.

i gotcha. when you do this is any change noticeable? just a tranny fluid/filter change... my car had a mystery leak a while ago the tranny fluid was barely low...maybe a pint? and the power steering was actually pretty low (in the reservoir), but couldn't find a drip pattern on anything... then it stopped in late summer. topped off those fluids myself. maybe my inquiry should have been in the tech support board. lol

The Official MPG Thread
it's a 99 3.1L MC never had the tranny changed before to my knowledge. got it at 100K .... if the average was 21, i wouldn't be worrying much about it... just so odd that it wasn't even above 20mpg average.

COBALT SS, King of the Subcompacts
this is great, they better continue this performance with the Cruze. and hopefully the Delta II will be even better when GMPD gets a hold of it.

Iceland
i'd like to visit... but i'd prolly need an interpreter.. i've heard that the "native tongue" is damn hard to discerne when they're not trying to speak english. i'd love to travel the world... i think a cruise would be a 1/2way decent way to do that... but harbor cities are very small amount of the world.

The Official MPG Thread
kinda had an oddity recently. had 25% highway @62ish and the rest was town driving and i some how did the 240 miles on ~12.5 gallons. that's just not right... i should have been getting high 20's if not low 30's on the highway and 18 at worst in town. what i'm seeing when my gas gauge works on my newest tank is prolly 16-18 mpg, vast majority in town some intertown driving, 55mph max. could the cold really be killing my mileage that badly? i don't let it warm up much..... not checked my tires since it got cold. prolly should have the tranny fluid changed (147K miles) it runs fine/idles smoothly any ideas?

De Lorenzo again
the other things that is funny about this loan/bailout is that they're not borrowing from the gov, they borrow from us, and it's financed from a private bank, not the treasury. so "we the people" don't get the interest on this loan.
