  1. I have read the entire conversation.
  2. It would be rough but I think I'd hang on to what I have. I don't know what I would get that I'd actually want that gets enough better mileage to spend the money buying something else. I think I would be seriously looking into the plug-in hybrids though, that's for sure. I think I would look more into driving less and combining more trips rather than buying something else. My current running average since buying my MKC is 24.4mpg on 87 octane. For something I'd want to replace the MKC, I don't see something getting significantly better mpg unless it's a plug-in or hybrid.
  3. There was ONE thing people REALLY harped on and they only made it worse...
  4. It's hilarious that their renderings only emphasized the blank window piece to look even worse as a one square foot blank now.
  5. GM and Ford need to get out of these unions. Toyota and Honda aren't using union labor and you don't see them with labor issues.
  6. Mercedes > Cadillac.
  7. The same reason most anybody sells a cheap car with terrible margins, to get somebody into your brand and hopefully sell them a step up later because they had a good experience with the first car.
  8. "Just accept that Mercedes is NOT a Luxury auto only company, but have changed into the Toyota/GM" "You cannot be a luxury auto maker only when you are making JCPenny's prices products too." They will not have a lower insurance premium as the car still cost 2-3 times more.
  9. I know. They built a brand we engine.. with a considerable amount less output.
  10. And to think GM has moved backwards on output on that engine... Is trolling allowed all of a sudden?
  11. I don't care about the number but the advancing technology to get there is what I care about.
  12. Dear Mercedes-Benz, Please go back to the days where the number behind the letter meant something. Sincerely, Everybody
  13. Boy, does that piss me off..
  14. They'll do the Khols special and just slap discounts all over the place to make the consumer feel like they're getting a killer deal(which they'll be getting the vehicles at about what they should be selling them for, imo).
  15. I don't think Mercedes has played the value card since I've been into vehicles. Just offering a small, cheap car doesn't mean it's much of a "value". I wouldn't consider a 33k sub compact car much of a value proposition. Whereas Cadillac is offering much more size/room for roughly the same dollar amount of Mercedes/BMW/Audi. That shows more car for the dollar which is a value proposition, imo.
  16. What about the extraction process for all of these batteries? Isn't that the worst part of the process?
  17. I can you imagine all of the single mothers owning these already.
  18. Well, I understand the idea of a cheaper base model.. I know you do as well.
  19. I expected their first EV to have an optional battery with 400 miles of range. I thoroughly believed they would be the first to crack that barrier and push Tesla down a notch. The best or nothing..? Nothing.
  20. That was the joke
  21. If I'm being honest, I also expected when the automotive giants(any brand whose been around for 50+ years) put out some EV competition for Tesla, I thought they'd stomp them. I figured they had the money and experience and know-how to just make a better vehicle. Now, that's not to say their build quality won't stomp Tesla's as we've all heard about their sub-standard QC..
  22. There are front shots, you just have to flip through the pictures. This looks much larger than THAT grille.
