Kind of my point. Here you have Cadillac and the bland look XT6 when they could have gone with a sportier look (and drive) and it’s the lower make Chevy that gets the sporty designed Blazer with really nice driving dynamics (if you believe early reviews). It’s a complete lack of solid direction on GMs part whic should not be happening. I just don’t get it.
-
Here’s the crazy part though. The Blazer design shows at least an effort to make something unique in an otherwise homogenous CUV world. The rest, as you said though, is just a lot of “meh” and most of that sadly going towards Cadillac. To be fair, most makes are being way too conservative these days, probably due to the homogenous CUV “craze” which just seems to invite lazy/conservative choices. Kind of sad if you ask me.
-
Thanks Drew and that proves my point about the Blazers place in Chevys lineup. It’s a pretty big price jump from the Nox to the Blazer and you only gain a whole foot of cargo space. And you are correct on the China front. My mistake but given that they even make one in China that is sold here should get certain folks fuming yet they are not. Fanboy “logic”, is my point here.
-
And before someone gets their panties in a wad, understand this. I actually like the Blazer as far as looks goes. The fact that is a CUV would be a deal breaker for me in the end but it doesn’t take away from it’s intended purpose for everyone else. What cannot be ignored though are the intangibles like cargo space. The Blazer has pretty much the came amount of cargo space (actually less from what I’ve heard, maybe @Drew Dowdell can confirm this?) as the Equinox while being priced thousands more. Just not understanding it’s place in GMs lineup other than to just look different from the rest (which again, is what I like about it). The only thing it has over the Equinox is the 3.6L but that really isn’t saying much these days with more folks seemingly favoring turbo fours these days (not this guy btw). The Blazer is a solid double but it could have been a home run had GM put a little more into it (literally).

I honestly could not have said it better myself. We will just skip over the fact that they haven’t done a full comparison yet, where things like less cargo space (in the Blazer) will come to light. Loves domestics which, I’m assuming, leaves out a considerable portion of Chinese made GMs. And I thought Wings was brand blind.

So much for my plan to go 113MPH in a new Volvo. -
Sales: February 2019 Sales Figures

Maybe it depends on where you are but I have already seen about a half dozen new Silvis in just the last month. The craptastic weather is absolutely a factor in craptastic sales overall though. -

100% This! That is simply hideous with a face only Ray Charles could love. -

I think it’ll be quicker than that. Sure didn’t take long to figure out Fiats were still junk. Again though, I may be wrong here. Maybe Peugeot surprises me. -
Peugeot Selected As Brand for PSA's Return to U.S.
surreal1272 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Peugeot
What I am talking about is the fact that both brands were flaming piles of garbage back then. Given that newer Fiats and Alfas haven’t done much to change that perception, I just don’t expect much from Peugeot. I remember an old neighbor of mine, back in early 80’s, who’s mother had one and that thing was always in the shop. While Peugeot may go the Kia route, its doesn’t mean that it is needed in this currently oversaturated market. Maybe I’ll be proven wrong, but I just don’t see success here unless they pull a magical rabbit out their hat that no one expected. You mean the already sold here Regal Tour X? -

I agree with @balthazar. What exactly is the point in an already flooded market full of boring rolling applicances? On top of that, it’s Peugeot, which has about a good a record of fond memories as Fiat did 30-40 years, which is next to zilch. -
Lincoln News: Lincoln Corsair to get Plug-In Option

Ugh. For about a month and a half I was driving from El Mirage to Mesa, a 43 mile drive one way. So glad I only drive nine miles one way now. Long commutes suck. -

DRIVEN: 2019 Chevrolet Blazer LT AWD 3.6
surreal1272 replied to regfootball's topic in Reader Reviews
$52K for a Blazer? That’s a hard pass from me. What it ends being priced at a dealership is 100% irrelevant in this internet shopping era. That is Cadillac money for a 2 row Chevy. Just no. And a 300HP Blazer is not worth no damn $52K. Get that out of here too. Fact is that they are both priced too high (like pretty much every car out there). -
The Sebring was a good seller becuase it was a rental queen, not to mention a garbage car. Convertible Models that didn’t originate with a sports car (ie. Stang, Camaro, Vette) have been a non-starter for the domestic makes for decades now, despite efforts to change that. Not enough real interest and no one wants to spend the money to develop one anymore, in this CUV happy climate. Personally, I don’t really care about them, one want or the other. Just not for me, as far as daily drivers go.

No biggie. I understand that process more than you might realize. Website updates and maintenance are genuine pains in the butt sometimes. We do what we can do sometimes and just go with it.

Should have never arrived here in the first place. Swap out the Buick logo and replace it with a Chrysler logo, and you have the perfect recipe for something no one ever asked for. I see bar moving is not a lost art form around here. You have tutored ATPs of Benz in the past (much like you do when sales are in your favor) yet dismiss here when it favors Cadillac. That bar has got to be tired from all that moving.

@ccap41 Suggestion actually worked but I can’t figure why that started like that in the first place. I had no OS updates on my end so I knew that wasn’t the problem. Strange. Thanks for the tip @ccap41.

Well, it seems like the site doesn't want me to see any posts past the first page. This started a little over a week ago but whether I’m on the iPad, my phone, or computer, I get this never ending “loading” message whenever I try to go to another page of any thread here. Let me know when this is fixed because I have tried everything on my end. @Drew Dowdell

The results are not surprising. With near on demand torque and AWD, the Stinger will always get off the line faster than the Stang (or Camaro for that matter) but that 100HP difference sure reared its ugly head on the track so the Stang winning was no surprise there at all. Now, imagine even 50 more HP (much less 100 more) on the Stinger. Make fun of the fact that its a Kia (so what?), a derivative of other cars (again, so what? Most cars these days are derivative of something else), or any a number of things people like to slam Kia for. This is a true dark horse car that will impress most folks who are lucky enough to get behind the wheel of it.

You do realize that your sales logic can be used against you here right? See Escalade sales versus anything of competing nature from Benz. Now would you say they outsell the Benz because of the much better materials and price difference? Oh, and after spending 20 miles driving a 2015 C63 AMG, I'm just going to call BS on that top notch interior non-sense. Newsflash Mercedes, don't ever make a white leather seat ever again. Simply atrocious after only three years of use (and only 29K miles on the car). Oh and don't get me started on the glued on glorified iPad on top of the dash.
