  1. It's called "bleeding heart leadership" Support everyone, then support that which supports everyone so you can once again support everyone.
  2. I guess hundreds of thousands of unemployed auto workers isn't a national problem? I hope the UAW remembers what this man is saying about them on behalf of the Republicans. Yes and no. Sure... But what they didn't see coming is how your comrade in Congress and that joke for a leader Bush were going to screw them over on both gas prices (By market deregulation) and an impossible energy policy. True that... If you guys want to go with the whole green then you'd better be prepared to pay for it. This makes me wonder if concessions weren't a part of the CAFE deal to begin with, since the big three didn't really fight it that much in the first place. This is basically (well deserved) free money to get them through 'the pinch' until the legacy costs and economy come under control. The products have already been bankrolled for the most part. When has that ever stopped you before?!?! That statement should really read: "We don't want to piss off the Toyota f*cking, green humper, import loving voters that carry the most influence in this country"
  3. I like both and I have both. We found our cat in a parking lot at our old complex. She was really thin (So thin we thought she was a kitten) and really wild but once we started feeding her she kinda warmed up to us. The first thing we fed her was Balogna, so we named her Baloney. We were about to go home for Christmas break and started thinking about how she would eat while we were gone. (According to other tenants. she had been catching birds) So we trapped her and brought her in. It was pretty evident that she had been an inside cat at one point because the first place she went was under the bed to hide and she knew all about the litter box thing. (thankfully) We took her to the vet and had her checked out and updated her shots. The vet told us that she was actually an older cat, but was so malnutritioned that she looked small/young. She's pretty tame now and she's 'fat n happy' and still very nocturnal. She was never really a mean cat, just very scared of everything. It's always fun to watch her freak out about stuff though. She's so playful and 'weird' and tends to do all of the classic cat stuff like jumping 3 feet in the air, hiding behind stuff to attack random things (us, the dogs, toys, a random piece of lint on the floor... you name it) running across the apartment like a bat out of hell in the middle of the night. She's very entertaining and she's a ham too... The more attention, the better.
  4. Like PCS, I remember what a beautiful morning it was. I'll never forget the images I watched and it still bothers me to see the media re-open the wound every year. I watched a show the other night called "How it was: The voices of 9/11" that told the story using actual FDNY and NYPD radio conversations and dispatch. By the end of the show I was crying because I can't bear to imagine what those people went through. The sad part is; IMO, the plan worked. The terrorists wanted to break this country and they did. I remember seeing an interview with Bin Laden where he said "America is a paper dragon that is weak." I didn't know how right he was until he provided the catalyst for this country to start the slide to destruction. I mean that both economically and socially. I had a good friend that worked with us on Relay For Life (She has survived cancer 3 times) She will no longer speak to me because one day she started the whole "It was Bush's idea, so he could go to war." and I got pretty offended and pretty mean. Not that I support Bush, but seriously, have a little respect for those who died.
  5. Got off of work from the bar at midnight (bouncer... you know ) Headed directly to my nearest 24 hour Wal-Mart in the GFs rental Impala and picked it up at around 12:30AM. Too bad I can't listen to it in my car though (Thanks to that jack ass who stole my CD player 3 weeks ago)
  6. That seems to make the most sense. However, TCC is reporting that the Saab Delta unveiled at Paris will be the 9-1. Of course, we all know how 'the name game' changes.
  7. Hmm... Looks like the Astra is sucking just as bad. What's the excuse for it? I mean, the G8 is a large V8 powered car from a "damaged, dead brand walking" with little to no budget in a market with $4/gallon gas. The Astra... Well... Really can't make excuses for poor European engineering and design. (I know you will ignore this, but it's not important that YOU read it )
  8. Are we really going to go into this? Are we really going to trash GM in comparison to a franchise that sells cars below $10,000 and offers a buy one, get one free deal? This is just another smear campaign
  9. ORLY? Because I didn't see one ad. LOL, obviously someone who has NEVER set foot in the car. And obviously someone who doesn't know the purpose of the car which is not to sell in Camry volumes, but rather to enthusiasts. Exactly... Why Saab needs both a 9-5 and a 9-3 in the Epsilon bracket beats the hell out of me. Why Chevrolet needs both the Malibu and the Impala in the Epsilon bracket beats the hell out of me too. So the truth lies in outsiders looking in? The same analysts that predicted a GM bankruptcy 2 years ago? I don't think so. I'm pretty sure Mr. Laneve has a handle on things. Okay... 1) I remember hearing the media BEG GM to cut itself to death when the corporation sold 80 models... What's next? Cut it to 40, then to 20, then to 10? 2) A lot of these models ARE NOT VOLUME MODELS!!!!! Does the author bring up Lexus or Scion in comparison to Toyota sales? Of course not. Astra is an import and was never supposed to sell in quantities that the author 'would like' (I hate it when people don't know what they're talking about, yet publish bullsh*t anyway) and the Solstice certainly isn't "MAINSTREAM" Besides, the Sky moves less volume than the Solstice last time I checked.
  10. I must say, I have a rental Impala right now and I'm fairly impressed with the car! A friend of mine just got a new Altima and the Impala (to me) is as good as the Altima. The supposedly improved interior of the Altima still sucks IMO.
  11. Because it's half-baked.
  12. I hope it stays in american hands... Interesting that Press seems to be relly dumbing down Chrysler. First, the styling goes, now the performance goes. And BTW Detroit, how does it feel to have your freedom to build interesting vehicles taken away by your own government?
  13. Hmm.... This seems cool... However, a CTS-V coupe. Now THAT'S something that would make me aspire to own a Cadillac!!!
  14. This could be good or bad... If it comes with AWD and a V8 and retains the attitude of the current truck, then it'll be good. If it's "Traversed" it'll be bad. I just don't want this to 1) Kill the only bright spot Buick has right now and 2) Kill one of only 2 bright spots Cadillac has right now. If the EXT is moving to Zeta, then why can't the regualr Escalade do it too? Is Zeta not big enough or refined enough? I just hope the Escalade doesn't lose all of it's 'truck-status' sales over it basically becoming a minivan. Oh, and we already knew that Lambda could fit a V8 since at one time an Enlcave Super and/or Acadia Denali was planned. But wasn't the V8 that was going into the Lambdas supposed to be the UV8 at one time?
  15. Not as cool as the HHR. But neat none the less.
  16. YAY!!! Relay For Life!!!
  17. You can think the government and it's selfish, cynical citizens for that. Design... Meh... The damage is already done.
  18. Chevrolet Orlando??!/! I think I made some noise like that the other night after a half a gallon of Tequilla
  19. +1 Not every GM division needs to cater to every market or niche. The corporation wasn't ever supposed to operate that way and because of it's limited time struggling to operate that way, GM now has an even harder row to hoe in the eyes of the public. The identities of the divisions were lost in the 70s and 80s. +1 again.... in the GM empire, Chevrolet = volume and visibility. Therefore, if the volume of the markt is going to X-overs and small SUVs, then GM needs to develop Chevy Trucks in that direction. Leave MOST of the actual trucks to GMC (I still think Chevy should keep the Silverado) especially now that Hummer is exiting the family.
  20. Revolutionary (Maybe someday ) I'm pretty liberal on the side of economics But I'm equally conservative when it comes to morals and family. I guess that would make me a moderate? I love to hate on both parties though. IMO, it's kinda sad and dumb to lock oneself into a specific mindset "just because" Now, if you have valid personal reason for being locked into that mindset, then more power to you. But just to spit out the terms without putting thought into it is a bit shady.
  21. So this is the future of GM? Or better yet, the future of the automobile? Maybe I should go buy those cyanide capsules now instead of later. "To the death of the automobile and executives with balls at General Motors!"
  22. Wow... And Detroit takes another step backwards... Are these people serious? It's like the 90s all over again, except without the sales. FWIW, those concepts mentioned are ugly, homogenous and too reminiscent of 'space cars' to (hopefully) appeal to the mass public. Now, on the other hand, if Chrysler makes it's cars look like a melted down pile of plastic sh*t (a la Camry, Corolla, Prius and Matrix) well then they might be onto something.
  23. Hasn't anyone shut this guy up yet? Seriously...
  24. +1 The only problem is the media rebuttal (which will no doubt come soon anyway, just because of this press release)
  25. So, will Holden be forgotten about now as well? Or will they still get adequate product? I mean, it appears that GM is literally retreating from most markets now. Why not forfeit Oz along with North America?
