  1. The Forward Look cars are pretty cool also, but I'm way more of a '70s car fan than a '50s car fan.

  4. I love Challengers, and Cudas... but I figured they would be too predicable. Liked Challengers since seeing Vanishing Point on TV in the 80s. I really like most all late 60s-early 70s Mopars. I'd love to have a '70-71 Challenger, but I'll happily settle for a late model R/T or SRT sooner or later. As for the B-bodies, I know the usual favorites of many are the '68-69 Charger and Road Runners, but I really like the '71-72s...Charger, Road Runner and GTX..something about that fuselage shape gets me...

Oddly I liked the Cube, maybe because most of my career, I've worked in office cubicles...(cubelife4evr was my handle on one forum ) It's too bad they never did a Nissan Cube Herman Miller Edition, with Herman Miller-designed office chair style seats, cubicle fabric on the door panels, etc. Maybe with Steelcase file cabinets in the cargo area... Unlike our Amish-region friend, I've never dissed Tesla and EVs--I want to see Tesla succeed as I am a fan of Silicon Valley tech companies, since I'm a techie...and I like EVs from the technology angle, not to mention the torque..interesting seeing the evolution of them... and I did buy a Fiat-owned vehicle..though it is of German-American origin more than Italian...
  6. I'm a sucker for the early 70s fuselage styling...the C-bodies are pretty uncommon today, but I love the styling.
  7. With the announcement of the crate motor Hellcat availability, I could see lots of interesting Mopar Pro Touring style cars built. Skipping the predictable A- B- or E- body based ones that 99% of the crate Hellcats will go in, I'd go for something offbeat--a C-body based build. Something like one of these as the starting point for Hellcatization--''69-72 Polara or Monaco, or a '74-75 Monaco...always liked the C-bodies of the fuselage and post-fuselage era. Or a Plymouth or Chrysler of the same era..(Dodges are my favorite styling-wise of those generations of C-body).
  8. As far as international availability of American pickups, the Ford F-series has been a staple in S. American countries like Argentina and Brazil for decades, used to be sold in Australia (but not anymore, apparently), and in some Middle Eastern countries...most all probably for commercial/ag use...
  9. The Cube seemed more like the xB than the Soul...and had a cool name and funky styling.
  10. Both ideas sound worthwhile. I know of sites that have ad block detectors I will whitelist the site if it's content I really enjoy. I don't mind paid subscriptions to good content; I do that already with the NY Times and Washington Post. I think I have a paid subscription here, not sure..(is there a way to check your subscription status?)
  11. A new compact CUV and a new Journey could do well for Dodge.
  12. I can see it now, a 390ZX, a 2dr, 2 seat crossover styled like a larger, sleeker Juke. Bring back the 'ZX' nomenclature, since 'X' implies crossover...
  13. Luxury car buyers that want something different than the usual German luxury car. And you are in New Jersey...lots of people of Italian ancestry, maybe they like Italian cars..;)
  14. I was curious, so I looked it up, there were 10 Nissan dealers in the Cleveland-Akron-Canton metro area...roughly 3.5mil people, 50 miles east to west, 50 miles north to south...
  15. Likely unrelated, but two local Nissan dealers shut their doors today.

  18. The X1 is more the GLC competitor isn't it? Or is that the X3s niche? I guess they are trying to cover all the bases. They don't want to sell the 1 series hatch here, they know US buyers love CUVs now, so they add another...
  19. Think of it as their GLA competitor. The X1 is the practical compact CUV, this is the less practical, more stylish compact CUV.
  20. Kind of a larger, less homely version of the cult favorite ProBox/Succeed.
  21. ..and at the other end of their lineup, it looks like the X7 is definitely coming, I can only assume a 'coupe' X8 will soon follow...
  22. I'm surprised they haven't yet put out a 1 series sedan and 2 series coupe on the same platform.
  23. But with the growth in the compact CUV market, it may do well...esp. if it's cheap enough...
  24. Strong Hyundai vibes from certain angles..rear looks like the Tucson..very derivative. Also similar greenhouse to the GLA.
  25. That's what I like about Mazda..they seem to go their own way, rather than copying Toyota's Gundam-inspired styling.
