  1. I've noticed that, but pretty much anything 4-5 years old that sits outside here has discolored lights due to the evil bright light in the sky 300+ days a year. Yet 14yr old cars in Seattle look brand new even when they sit outside all the time. Guess that cloud cover really works to protect the car! It's like sunscreen..
  2. So much eye candy...loving the racing shots
  3. 2 12 yr old cars in my driveway (Grand Cherokee and my sister's DTS), and the two older Mercs in the back driveway. Reliable, paid for cars are nice...but eventually going to have to get something new(er).
  4. I've noticed that, but pretty much anything 4-5 years old that sits outside here has discolored lights due to the evil bright light in the sky 300+ days a year.
  5. How much of that though is lazy people that don't take care of their cars? Faded/oxidized cars are the norm here, as recent as 4-5 years old if left out exposed to the sun..
  6. Anecdotally I have a few friends and colleagues w/ Infinitis, they range from 25-42. It's not just the older crowd that buys 'em... My neighbor has a new Q56 and is about 6'2", so space must not be a problem in that model..
  7. I've long thought the current Yukon would have looked better w/ the Sierra front end. But I do prefer the Tahoe/Suburban front end over the Silverado.
  8. I like the profile and proportions esp. compared to the odd XTS (the MKZ has a longer wheelbase, is wider, and lower, though the Caddy is longer because of its overhangs).. The taillights are ineresting, though I don't like the black surrounding the rear window. Will be interesting to see in person.
  9. 2nd gen Lexus SC went there then went away.
  10. Lots to enjoy...loving that boattail Riv pic..great lighting and setting..
  11. A halo sports car would work well w/ their Red Bull F1 branding relationship as well. They have been using Seb V in advertising for the QX and various events..an LF-A competitor would fit well in that context.
  12. They seem a bit invisible in the market...but they do have some interesting models, I guess they are sort of an Acura and Buick competitor line these days..
  13. Looked at that, but it appears there's no longer wheelbase involved, and from the pic I don't see a greatly larger rear compartment. IOW, I think Lincoln mis-appropriated the 'limousine' moniker to a significant degree. Not sure about 1957, but I do recall reading about 2 different rooflines on the '58-60 Continental 4drs...there was a version w/ a vinyl or padded top and more formal rear window..that may be what this in reference to.
  14. The hideous wreck is a famous custom car, IIRC. '40 Ford or something like that...it looks familiar from some context, but I can't place it.
  15. Would be nice...I can't see Lincoln as it is today (FWD appliances) surviving..
  16. I picked that photo because it is so not Arizona...gives me something relaxing to look at when I get tired of looking at the dry hideous desert void outside... I also have a background picture of Aspen, Colorado's Maroon Bells on my laptop..
  17. So...Avalon, Azera, Maxima, Taurus, Impala, LaCrosse...the FWD full size mainstream sedans..new Impala and LaCrosse are the best looking of them, IMO.
  18. To be chauffeured, the Eldo or Imperial would work quite well. To drive, though, I'd want 1957s best looking American car, IMO..
  19. It was an Anglo-American venture, built by Ford in England, developed by Americans and Brits. The book 'Goes Like Hell' is a very good book on this subject...
  20. Mmmm..diesel GC and 8spd automatic. Nice.
  21. I do wonder if the size shortcomings of Epsilon II (narrow, short wheelbases) are due to it being an international platform...with versions of the Regal/Insignia and Malibu in many markets.
  22. Wasn't the Chevy LUV diesel a collosal failure? They had to crush a bunch of them after the S10 came out because they couldn't sell them IIRC.
  23. I guess people w/ Cruzes should park them outside until they get the recall fix.
  24. that would be a simple fix. delta is like 105.7 wb? delta = 106 next size = should be like 110 next size = 114 sonic size should be like 102 Caprice size should be 118 you can build pretty much 90% of the cars you sell on three size wheelbases. the regal and malibu would really benefit for 2 extra inches of stretch in the back seat. Problem is the current Epsilon II wheelbases are both quite small--107.x and 111.x.
  25. Maybe Ford given their history...Volvo seems like it would be a more viable upmarket brand for Ford than dead-brand-walking Lincoln.
