  1. So true..there are always politics and games in any human organisation.
  2. Normally I love the S-class (I'm driving an old one these days), but I really can't get into the styling of the current one (though I love the CLS).
  3. I don't vote on skin color... I'd vote for a woman--I would have supported Hillary had she been the nominee. I can't relate to McCain--he's old and right wing, representing a party with a tired, failed agenda. No way would I want to be associated w/ the scary social conservatives that have destroyed the Republican party.
  4. Nice... I'm really loving the 500SEL the more I drive it...it's so solid..no squeaks and rattles at over 176k miles now. .. it's running great currently (my sister replaced a lot of things over the last 6 years). In this weather, I'm enjoying driving with the huge sunroof open and windows down. Been driving the 300CE with all the windows down occasionally also. I haven't driven my Jeep in a month...the Mercs had been sitting so much for the last year, they really needed to be driven.
  5. I fillled up the silver beast last week @ 2.69/gal, for $51 total.. I can commute for 2 weeks on a full tank, not bad.
  6. It's going to take time, no doubt. McCain would have only made things much, much worse than they are now. Outdated conservative thought is what got this country in the mess it's in now.
  7. I don't know if it was on a freeway or street, but I do see a lot of people tailgating. I've seen accidents happen where a car stops at a light changing from yellow to red on a busy street and getting rearended because the car behind was following too closely and not slowing.. A big problem also are the retards texting, reading email, talking on the phone, etc while driving...
  8. Yeah, I'm lovin' the Challengers.. I saw pics a couple weeks ago of a green (like the last pic) convertible that is supposed to be at SEMA. Here is an orange one: That Trans-Am style racing Camaro is so cool also. I like this Camaro concept a lot:
  9. I had a 300M rental for 3 weeks in Ohio in 1999...loved it. Great drive, very comfortable. I've had a few Intrepids, Concordes, and 1 LHS as rentals as well.
  10. Likewise, I would be very dissapointed in Americans today had McCain won.
  11. Could it be something as drastic as announcing GMNA cut to 4 brands by the end of the year? That would be a dramatic change.
  12. Speaking of transport issues, I see the $10B California bullet train rail program passed. That is exciting news...
  13. The Republicans will have had 20 out of the last 28 years in the White House..enough is enough. The conservative agenda has proven to be a failure. It's time for a modern candidate to lead into the future.
  14. Good idea...there are a lot of cool concepts coming to SEMA, from what I've seen so far...esp. the Camaros and Challengers.
  15. Hmmm...I can only imagine it will be a Not Good announcement..more layoffs and plant closures? Models to be dropped?
  16. ha-ha... did you forget he is an American, born in Hawaii, and his mother was white? You probably need to look up the differences between communism and socialism..different systems. What about modern Western Europe or Canada, they have quasi socialist economies, but are generally considered to have much higher quality of life than the US..
  17. I went out on CNN and looked at the result maps for all 50 states, to see which counties went which way..pretty fascinating to see how counties went blue or red, where the concentrations were, and how those corresponded to demographics. In particular, I studied Colorado and Ohio, two states I'm very familiar with, and what counties went which way. Some interesting factoids I discovered--only 1 state went totally red---Oklahoma--every county was red, but 5 states went totally blue in every county (all New England states).
  18. Yeah...I think besides the iffy job market, the climate is the main thing that's kept me from moving back... after 12 years in the dry, sunny West, the damp, gray cold Ohio/PA winters would probably kill me...
  19. It's interesting to say the least... the '58-60 Lincoln is my least favorite Lincoln of that era, with the '61-63 being perfection, IMHO...(and the '64-65 and '66-69 pretty sweet also).
  20. Sweet... I've seen a few R8s, though none recently. The A8 is probably my favorite of the big executive saloons these days, really like the styling and esp. the interior design and detailing.
  21. It would be cool to see the hatchback version here...it's a pretty slick package, IMHO. Offer it w/ the turbo 4, a diesel, and the DI V6s..
  22. Yes, McCain was very gracious in his concession speech. But there was certainly plenty of booing in the crowd when he mentioned Obama's name. I'm sure that plenty of the foaming-at-the-mouth, delusional right wingers are quite angry and nasty today. Time for them to STFU and crawl back under their rocks w/ their guns and bibles, IMHO...
  23. Immodium (what I take to combat IBS so I can enjoy spicy food)
  24. Yes, some great roads around the burgh. I'm pretty familiar with Pittsburgh and the surrounding counties, since it's pretty close to Eastern Ohio where I lived for 20+ years. Every time I'm back in that part of the country, it always blows my mind how GREEN it is in the spring and summer, and the great fall colours. CO and AZ are very tan and brown, with the greenery mostly from pine trees...
  25. Have a good trip. I'll probably pass through the Pittsburgh airport at Xmas, on my way to visit family in E. Ohio..
